DD Friday - Do you love it?

Didn't see a DD thread yet for today and I need the support so I'll start! I'm lovin' my DDs right now!

It's raining outside. Yippeeeee. How we need it.

I took my 150 mgs of Pterostilbene and am having coffee. Nice slow morning.

B - coffee w/ half/half for 80

10:00 One hour cardio workout at the gym

L - Ice water with 2 TBLS ACV

3:00 pm Movie at the theater with celery and green pepper and maybe a HB egg (to distract from DH's big bucket of popcorn with butter). appx 100

D - 1 scoop of whey isolate protein powder in water; 20 grams protein; 90 calories.

Total planned for day = 270 calories

For several DDs I've wanted sweets, so yesterday (UD) I bought both things I've been craving. I figured and re-figured the calories for my day, then decided to share the sweets with my DH. That left enough calories for plenty of protein, vegetables and even a skinny vanilla latte (smaller than my usual serving). It was just enough of everything and a very satisfying day. I wondered if today's DD would be difficult - usually sweets throw me into cravings - but it hasn't happened so far.

I do love my DDs. They give me freedom and breather time. I usually plan my UD menu and figure out the calories in whatever recipe I want to make. Today's menu:

B - 1 egg, hard boiled (75)
L - 1 oz. boiled chicken leg, no skin (56)
1 egg, hard boiled (75)
D - 3 oz. boiled chicken leg (168) and 1 large artichoke (plain) (75)

Carrie Jayne:

That's great! I'm learning that it's a good idea to plan for and have the things I've been craving on my UDs.

Yesterday for lunch I had...

Wait. I started typing that and decided I better not detail it on a DD thread!:hyst: Just recounting it made my tummy growl, so I deleted! ha!

Trust me. It was good. And I was so satisfied and felt I did something wonderful for myself.

Having something great on an UD helps me get through my DD because I know tomorrow I can have it again or have some other foods that turn me on!

Sounds like you are workin' the plan perfectly!:sing:

I was wondering where the DD thread was... :D

I've done okay so far today and I have my plan for the rest of the night. Lots of green tea to keep me going until a late lunch at 13.30, then:

L: roast chicken breast fillet with skin on (200 cals)
S: 1 sugar-free butterscotch (8 cals) and a pot of sugar-free jelly (10 cals)
D: small cheese omelette (200 cals)
Late-night snack: Nakd banana bread bar (90 cals)

Love my DD's

when I plan for them. Today:

B: oat fiber etc. crepes with Walden Farms Caramel and Marshmellow spreads (100)
L: 1 cup cabbage soup with 1 cup cabbage, sweet and sour w/Asian 5-spice and a DD pumpkin pie (110)
D: 2 turkey slices (60) 1 LC cheese (35) with sugar free pickle relish (0)

The more fiber and protein I can get on a DD, the more satiated I am.

Going unbelievably well considering it's a day out shopping with my mom and we love to eat eat eat together. Ha! Just coffee for breakfast and salad bar from whole foods for lunch. Egg whites and veggies/lettuce. Hopefully my strong will continues through the evening

Coffee= 50

Planning for another cup or 2 in a bit- we will see.

Bedtime snack will be a big salad, which I ought to prepare since I have to go some where between 6:30-8:30 and wont want to do that prep work when I get home.

Ok- into the kitchen to make coffee and bedtime salad...

Just made the salad and coffee brewing.
Bedtime salad:
5oz lettuce= 20
2oz cucumber= 8
2oz celery= 8
1.5oz pickle= 6
.5oz pepperoncini= 2
half hard boiled egg= 35
Total= 79

I'll post the ingredients in the 0 calories dressing I make.

Yam-Yam 02-28-2014 02:19 PM

Carly: Yes! I want to see how you make your zero cal dressing. :yummy:

My DD is going as planned so far. I sweated at the gym. One hour of cardio on the eliptical and then bike. :jumpjoy:Then I did about 10 minutes of serious stretching. Came home and took a hot, hot shower.

Looks like we won't be going to the movies today. DH does not want to go out in the rain again. Some of the streets are flooding. I won't drive in it for sure. Maybe a quick run to the grocery store, but nothing far away.

We have a big fire going in the wood stove and I'm trying to decide whether to brew some coffee or have a hot cup of tea or maybe some cappuccino.

I don't have any lemons. That is what I need to run to the store and get if I go.

It's posted in the DD recipe thread.

Today was easy because I'm not feeling well so I don't want to eat anyway. Throat hurts to swallow, so food isn't my friend.

B- coffee with almond milk - 47cals
L- homemade vegetable soup - 201cals
S- coffee with 1/4 protein shake - 40cals
D- asparagus with spices and 1/2t butter - 150cals
TOTAL - 438cals

brainardt 02-28-2014 04:18 PM

My DD's have been especially hard this week due to grand ol' TOM. But I have pushed through.

Today I had:

B: fiber one bar & black coffee (120)
L: two of BB's tostadas (300)
Bedtime snack: sliced green bell pepper (25)

Grand total = 445... my best DD this week :)
