Daily Average Below BMR

I have a question on daily average/BMR.

If I do as the JUDDD calculator says, my calories are 1999/440.

If I do 3 DDs per week, my daily average comes out to 1,330 calories/day, which is 200 below my BMR.

Wouldn't that eventually slow metabolism, or is the constant up/down what keeps metabolism up?

Thanks!

Yes, you are right.

Having the average and the Down Days be BELOW what you require, encourages your body to use your fat stores for energy.

But having regular days that are OVER what you require, keeps your body from adjusting your metabolism. It thinks any 'shortage' is a temporary thing, so it is willing to pull from storage.

I think if you eat at your resting BMR, that is the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight. If you are trying to lose weight, which most of us are, then you will need to eat less than your BMR. If you are JUDDDing purely for the health benefits of fasting, you can eat up to maintenance levels.

If I am remembering correctly, BMR is what your body requires if you were in a coma. It keeps all systems running smoothly. TDEE is the energy burned in a regular day (i.e. not in a coma). You would eat below TDEE to lose weight but at TDEE to maintain.

Follow Sirtain's advice then. I got the two confused (TDEE and BMR).
