Books for Motivation

What books have yoy found motivating? I like to read various diet books over and over like Krista Varady's new book, Michael Mosely's Fast Diet, 5:2 Diet and others. Can you suggest anything new?

There's two I read recently that have practical info. The first is called Fast Diet Success and has a lot of practical tips on IFing day to day. They even mention JUDDD! The second is called Easy Alternate Day Fasting. I got both of them on Amazon pretty cheap - under $5 if I recall correctly.

I have Easy Alternative Day Fasting and it was very helpful. I'll get the other one you suggest, too. Thanks.

Google around there's a big world of IF out there. I want to read all the time, enjoying seeing everybody's tips.

I'm reading Mosley's book right now and have read all the others mentioned except the success one. I'll get that, too. Also read the original Dr. J book and then uploaded and read the revised one as soon as it came out.

I'm like you, I go back and re-read for extra motivation.

Thank you for these suggestions. I just ordered 2 of these for my Kindle.
I appreciate the encouragement I always find among the JUDDD family.

I bought the Kindle version of that book last night and read it this morning. It's super short, more like a pamphlet with a bunch of (great) recipes in the back. The text wasn't anything better than you will find on this board from seasoned JUDDers or in the stickies section. Basically the author and her husband did 600 calorie days alternating with no counting days. As we know this model doesn't work for everyone. But it's worth 99 cents for the collection of recipes under 500 calories for down days.

This is not an IF book, but I liked it. It's called "Then Just Stay Fat". I can't think of the author over the top of my head.

Carly, I loved that one! I've read it over and over again. It's by Shannon Sorrels.

"Suddenly Skinny: A Weight Loss Survival Guide" by Freya Taylor. The kindle version is $4.99 on Amazon. I'm finding it really motivating.

Just a note, kindle books can be returned on Amazon within 7 days for a full refund. Some of the books I've ordered I just didn't really like or didn't want to keep and I've gotten a quick refund with no questions asked. It seems too good to be true and I won't be surprised if they change their policy soon.

I finished this book and I highly recommend it to anyone who can stand a little "tough love." It's one of my all time favorites. I already started reading it again. It has made a lot of things finally click for me.

"Keeping It Off: Winning at Weight Loss," by Robert Colvin and Susan Olson. Based on interviews with successful losers who've maintained their weight for years. It's out of print, but available used on Amazon. Lot's of great information. I found it very motivating.

I read a fantastic book that really helped me on my journey with intermittent fasting. It's called thin side out by Josie Spinardi. Helps you start doing hunger directed eating and if binge eating had ever been an issue for you, I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for this recommendation! I'm reading it now, and it's a real eye-opener. I can see why you've had so much success. I'm looking forward to overcoming the obscession I've developed with food and dieting. Has it helped quiet that for you?
