Current Once-a-week weighers

I'm starting this new thread for those of us who wish to weigh on a weekly basis. The old one was reaching mammoth proportions!

Sirtain 02-02-2014 07:32 AM

Here are my weights. Monthly since the beginning in bold, and my weekly ones in regular font. I had a slight chocolate binge as my period struck me a week early on Friday, so I am starting February with a higher number. No worries, though. I had a Recovery Day yesterday, will enjoy a good Up Day today at our Super Bowl celebration, then swing into a normal Down Day.

202.0 3/5
195.0 3/30
188.0 4/27
185.0 5/25
181.5 6/30
176.5 7/28
174.5 8/25
168.5 9/28
169.0 10/26
165.5 11/23
168.0 12/28
Woo! Christmas feasting!
165.0 1/5/14
164.0 1/11
161.5 1/19
156.0 1/25
158.0 2/1

calichris 02-02-2014 09:31 AM

Thanks Sirtain! It was getting pretty mammoth, wasn't it? I'll move my post over here:

My plan is to weigh in on whatever weekend day follows my down day and do scale, handheld body fat monitor reading, and waist measurement weekly (more measurements monthly).

2/2 - 201.7*, body fat monitor 40.1, waist 36.75"

*this is reflecting my PMS/rocky road ice cream collison. :D Should deflate soon.

next weigh in: 2/8

KaisMama 02-04-2014 07:53 PM

I weigh in every two weeks, but since there's not a thread for two week weights maybe I can join this one?

My next weigh in is 2/14

Sirtain 02-05-2014 04:32 AM

Yes, please do, Kaismama! Glad to have you.

Eieio 02-05-2014 06:15 AM

2-5-14 138.6# I'm feeling thinner, not listening to scale. Post high carb 900 cal. dinner.

sorenkkg 02-05-2014 08:28 PM

Checking in.

265 yesterday as a back from work trip and suoerbowl party weight.

KaisMama 02-07-2014 01:03 PM

You know, earlier this week, when I was watching 'The Biggest Loser' finale, I realized that for the first time ever as I was watching it, I was NOT thinking, now I need for this to inspire me, so that I actually DO something. I am perfectly happy with my present weight reduction, and how my current efforts are going. I want to go down, but I am confident it will be happening. Such a change for me.

I love it!

I'll be weighing in on Sunday, after my Up Day.

01/23/14: 185.4 lbs
02/1/14: 184.4 lbs

calichris 02-08-2014 08:05 AM

2/2 - 201.7, body fat monitor 40.1, waist 36.75"
2/8 - 200.5, body fat monitor 40.3*, waist 36.5"

*The body fat monitor has fluctuations just like the scale does depending on hydration, etc.

Someday I'll have a whoosh. Yoo-hoo! Whoosh Fairy? :) Essentially no change from 1/1 in weight, but I feel good and am sleeping really well from my exercise challenge activity.

sorenkkg 02-08-2014 08:14 AM

2/4 - 265.4
2/6 - 263.2
2/8 - 262.6

brainardt 02-08-2014 08:19 AM

Do you all think it's better to weigh in after a DD or an UD?

calichris 02-08-2014 08:20 AM

Wow, Soren -- you're losing about a 1/2 lb a day right now!

I'll have what you're having. :D

brainardt 02-08-2014 08:21 AM

Fantastic Soren!!! :) :)

Most people weigh after a DD. It's more consistent because the salt/carbs/food volume on a UD can cause a lot of variations in the scale. Besides, it's nice to have your lowest weight, right? :)

P.S. Congratulations on your amazing start!

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure I wasn't fooling myself! :jumpjoy:

Sirtain 02-08-2014 10:27 AM

I use my post-Up Day weights, though, because I am hoping to switch to 5:2 for maintenance. Then I will be having more Up Days than Down, so I want that as my base- what I am after most of my days, not just after I've emptied out. :)

It's just a mental thing for me, though. I think as long as you are consistent, it doesn't matter. Frostybeav uses an 8-day floating average.

Sirtain 02-09-2014 06:22 AM

Here's my last weight.

I feel pleased, in spite of some puzzles this week( A Down Day where I went down only half a pound-very unusual for me. But balanced by two Up Days where I stayed the same.). I think things are changing as I get closer to my goal. Also, I've been messing with testing food sensitivities. This whole month ay end up being strange because of that. Or maybe after my sudden drop downward, my body is ready to rest for a while.

Who really knows.

What I do know, is I am sticking to my rotations and feeling good about it.

annnnnd... there's a bounce. Trying to figure out what went "wrong"... could just be delayed reaction from the UD on Saturday (too much salt? late night snacking...)

I had a really good DD yesterday though, so I had hoped for better today, but ah well.
onward and downward.

Thanks for the encouragement ya'll :)

June 5 225
June 17 219 (-6)
July 2 214 (-5)
July 16 211 (-3)
July 30 209 (-2)
August 13 208.5 (-.5)
August 28 205.5 (- 3.5)
September 12 203 (-2.5)
October 21 199.5 (-3.5)
November (life getting in the way... of the weigh)
December 11 195 (-4)
February 11 194 (-1)

Couple of notes: I had lots of double and triple UP days, plenty of UUADs in December. and into January. In truth, I really just kind of got serious again towards the end of January.

I was down 30 lbs about 10 days ago and then I ate a ton of bread and gained five pounds in one day, and it has taken me until now, after serious rotations, to get back down (and an additional one pound loss). I dont really know what happens internally on days like that where I eat a ton of bread, but man, it is just not worth it. That much I do know.

Despite very little scale loss I have seen some inch loss--now onto last notch of belt, and when I started wearing it a couple of months ago I was on the first one. I take that as a healthful sign, like more tummy fat is being lost than muscle. That's my story and I am sticking to it anyway!

Congratulations to everyone for all your many successes and congratulations to the slower losers (me included) for your wonderful perseverance -- I know, we all know, that stick-to-it-ness might just be the very thing that wins for us in the end!

Eieio 02-11-2014 07:56 AM

2-11-14 140# I deserve more weight
I feel the red sinus pills I've had for three days have me eating like I've lost my mind. Stopping pills today! Over a cup of peanutt M&M's last night:stars:
My clothes are still fitting!:)

2-5-14 138.6# I'm feeling thinner, not listening to scale. Post high carb 900 cal. dinner.

Yam-Yam 02-12-2014 04:27 PM

12/19 -0
12/30 -4
1/6 -2.6
1/13 +2.6
1/20 -1.6
1/27 -3.8
2/2 + .8
2/11 -1.4

Total lost so far 10.0:)

Confession: I do weigh after DDs for the most part and even sometimes after an UD. But, I'm just posting my approximately every week weight to encourage myself and see that I am really making progress. Hope that's ok?

sorenkkg 02-14-2014 01:32 PM

2/4 - 265.4
2/6 - 263.2
2/8 - 262.6
2/10 - 264.2
2/14 - 262.6

Happy  day! :)
