The oddest thing - in the wee smalls I was awake but very sleepy and had an odd sort of waking experience in which my mother (who is long dead) strolled up to discuss/organise my travel tickets to go and visit her. I wasn't frightened but it has thoroughly unnerved me in some ways.
I've had similar experiences SS. It's quite odd when it happens, but I've found there's usually a message in the experience that I don't "get" until later. I don't pretend to know whether or not it's my own psyche or an actual visit, but whatever the case, it's comforting and weird all at the same time.

Mike still thinking of you and your family. I hope today is more peaceful for all of you.

Dawn I'm jealous that you found some great new bras. They sound lovely. I am still not ready to invest since I have a ways to go before I reach goal, although by now I could have gotten some mileage from a few.

Slow that is unnerving to dream vividly about lost loved ones. I hope you start to think of it in a more comforting way as the day goes on.

I also had some strange "dreams" last night. In fact, I was awake for nearly the whole night--till after 3 am at least. It was my first DD in a little over 2 weeks--the longest I've been without fasting in a year+. I could not sleep and lay awake having strange "waking dreams" and tossing and turning. The day itself was pleasant and I thoroughly enjoyed coming back to rotations. I hope the sleeplessness eases up pronto!!

Hugs to Mike and SS.

Dawn, I'm glad you had a successful bra trip.

I am so soar from my time with the trainer yesterday, but plan to leave for the gym shortly. I think I will just do some HIIT on the treadmill and arms and abs. The other strength training is probably too much today.

Good morning all. I have a few extra minutes this morning before getting ready for church so checking to see what I've missed...

LG, I, too, have returned to this woe after a while of settling into the new (lighter) bod, and also found I had difficulty sleeping on my DD's. I remembered (when I was losing the most poundage) that I had those troubles then and had to save a hundred calories or so to have a snack before bedtime. Started that last week, the sleep is better and I've even lost a bit which I hadn't done before. Might Try it...

And to dreaming of our loved ones on the other side of the veil...I, too, have been having vivid dreams of them. I thought it was just because I'm getting older and looking forward to seeing them. I like Dawn's thought that there is a message which shows up later.

My condolences Mike, but what a good way to go.

Strange, these dreams/experiences we all get now and then.

Well I have a DD tomorrow and then we are off on a 7 day trip around the Norwegian coastline on one of their passenger ships. I am not expecting any luxurious 'cruise type' food and we intend to have a dry week as it is outrageously expensive to buy alcohol. DH will have his birthday on board so we may make an exception that evening.

May try a couple of DDs, we shall see.

Mike my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Cindy- have a great time on your trip.

I am happy to report that 5:2 is going well, again. My last DD was Wednesday and today after the gym I was 123.4. I can't complain about that.

It's interesting about the RMR, isn't it? I like to play with the "World's most accurate calorie calculator" (I don't know if I can link, but you can find it on Google). It seems like the body composition testers must use the Cunningham research model, but the calculator site recommends Mifflin-St. Jeor model for most people besides bodybuilders.

My hydrostatic guy told me that to go under BMR would cause loss of lean body mass as well. I am so about how alternate fasting plays into this. Supposedly it protects lean body mass, but how solid is the study/studies? It seems that the maintenance level calories every other day could help, but I don't know. I personally try to do weight lifting on up days just in case.

Anyway JD, you now have a great baseline for comparison and although 15-20 pounds might seem like a lot to you, to me (with more to lose) it seems like you're almost there!
Thank you Chris, I'm going to check that calculator. You started it, my friend so

SlowSure Totally agree with Dawn about the msg thing! My DH's dreams are always nightmarish! He is still trying to figure out how the brain analyzes day's activity and makes a "twisted" rope out of it!

Mike Heartiest condolences But I am glad it was all so peaceful. What more can we ask but to be surrounded by the family when our time is here!

just a smidgeon above 126 this morning and naturally I leave for my 'cruise' tomorrow. But at least I am seeing the 126 number now and then. Maintaining 3 pound either way of 126 should occasionally be below 126 though!

We keep on keeping on.

I'm sorry for your loss Mike. Your grandma was so blessed to pass peacefully with her family at her side. Comforting thoughts and prayers for you and yours.

I was intrigued by the Soma bra shopping.. do they have their own store? or was the fitting done at another store that carried their brand? I have heard of that brand before, but don't think at home in NJ we have a store - perhaps here in AZ? I have to look.

Kissa - that cruise sounds lovely... and seeing 126 before you leave is wonderful! Enjoy!

I'm feeling out of sorts today- I am blaming it on my choice of "carbs" yesterday - detox today and see if I don't feel happier! And I definitely need more fluids - this, dare I say it, HEAT in AZ has me sweating - my body is trying to adjust from the chilly temps of NJ.

Here, Soma is its own store. I'm not sure if the brand is carried elsewhere.

Goner, if you live near outlets they have Soma stores there. I know Woodbury Commons has one.

Kissa, enjoy your cruise. Food and all.

Mike, my condolences on the loss of your grandma. I'm so glad you could all be with her during this time.

Cindy/Kissa, have a great time on that cruise. A dry week, huh? I get it though. I hate buying expensive drinks at a bar when I could get a huge bottle of something at BevMo!

Lisa, glad to see you posting, even if just a fly-by. I was wondering about you!

Dawn, I love those lacy bras. I've hears it said that lace is one of the most supportive fabrics there is for bras. How convenient that it's also pretty and sexy!

Goner, we do have Soma stores here. Not sure how close to where you are staying though. I have one very nearby and need to get myself over there soon.

I didn't count calories all weekend. Friday-UD, Saturday-DD, or Sunday-UD. I have no idea how close I came to my "targets", but it felt good to relax for a few days and not count. I'm back to it this morning, DD. I think I'll go the rest of Feb w/o weighing, and then maybe start weighing regularly again.

Goner, I think "Soma" just have their own stores and they have these in NJ, at least that's what my sister-in-law was telling me, she lives in Bridgewater.
Kissa, have a wonderful time cruising! Away from being under the water to on the water
gotitnow, wouldn't it be wonderful to have a JB cruise!

I was invited to a religious function this morning but since I couldn't sleep very well last night, slept through the alarm this morning Hope, God will forgive me for this transgression!

Oh, Chris I checked that RMR/TDEE calculation site, Hmmm, what a range! Thank you.

Been absent from this thread for a bit so trying to get caught up on all the happenings.

Mike - sympathy for the loss of your Grandmother
Kissa - enjoy your cruise!
LCG - I've been remiss in counting too and need to get back at it as it becomes easier for me to not do it.

Support and well wishes for all the other posts I did not comment on!

I took in a new rescue/foster dog a few days ago and seeing how things fall out with my other dogs can sometimes create stress. The newbie is always on good behavior for the first couple of days as they are unsure of the new surroundings. By day 3 you start to see their true personality peek out. This one is showing some aggression with toys & treats and my one-year old pup has had her "feelings" hurt a few times. It will take time for everyone to adjust and lots of work ahead of me in getting the new girl to get on board with the program!

Speaking of getting on board with the program, I am having to detox from a 3-day break from JUDD and working to get back into solid DD footing. Have had a horrible headache all day and no amount of caffeine, liquids, pain reliever seems to help. Might just need to go to bed early tonight!

Take care all!

Aww...feel better Mary Ellen, I am battling a bad headache too, that started yesterday, and it makes it difficult to sleep well too.

It's my DD, and when I feel bad I give myself permission to eat a bit more if needed. So far so good.

Take care! Let's proclaim that tomorrow will be better!
