Hi everyone! More time at the gym equals less time at LCFs...

I'm with you all in spirit!

Frosty-- what a sucky morning, but glad it turned out ok. I wouldn't have thought the battery since it was just running... glad you got to work and home ok, and yes, get a new battery sooner than later!

Dottie-- glad to have you back! I hear you on the stress interfering with our best laid plans for weight loss and healthy eating.
You're here now!

Me-- Dr. says no ear infection. Stick with what the Dentist recommended. I'll call tomorrow to follow up on my email (that I didn't hear back about) so we can make a mouthguard... the pain won't stop until we get something physical going.

Not sure about the rowing machine coming on the weekend  We upgraded the control panel, so it wasn't in stock... guess I'll f/up on that tomorrow too.

I got a new iPHone for work today though, so that's sort of fun. Spent the day setting it up and learning stuff (it's different from ipad, a bit).

Need to catch up on work tomorrow-- maybe I'll actually work from the office? nahhhh

I just got an iPhone too! (5C) Never had one, I've always been an android girl. The first night I got it I took it out of the box and just stared at it. Soooo much different than an Android. Please pass on any tips or tricks you learn!

The live broadcast of Don Giovanni was sporadically affected by the very high winds last night but I can't begin to tell you how excellent it was.

Splendid performances from the principals. I had my doubts about the heavy use of light projection that had been trailed so much in all of the advertising for this but it was truly astonishing and didn't feel at all gimmicky and added so much to the feel of the piece. Halls had previously done video projection for U2 and even the closing of the London Olympics but it was done with nuance and apart from 1 section (it involved whirling and made me feel more than a little dizzy until I closed my eyes) I thought it was worth the technical risks.

I can well believe that all of the theatre performances are sold out.

Some of the audience had their first ever opera experience and they left buzzing and like worn-out dishrags from the emotion of it. It's one of the things that adds so much to my attendance at these broadcasts - all of the First Timers who are completely given over to the experience.

Bystrom was superb as Dame Anna. Kwiecien - well, what can I say but that the producer said that they'd wanted to cast a believable, charismatic libertine who's irresistible to women and that they'd somewhat lucked out with Kwiecien whom he described as a somewhat 'sturdier' Johnny Depp.

Sleeping Beauty in March. Manon Lescaut in June. Eugene Onedin is in the mix somewhere. And I'm fairly sure that there are more that I don't recall just now. I'm so grateful to the Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet, National Theatre, New York Met, and other participants, particularly the sponsors, for doing this.

I totally agree Slow. It is so wonderful for people who live too far from these theatres and it is affordable too. We are off to ou local Hampstead theatre tonight.

This my first DD for a week. I am so ready for it. I had lunch yesterday at a Michelin restaurant celebrating a triple birthday, I was the only one without a birthday in February. I only ate blueberries and a pice of 90% dark chocolate in the evening. Does that equal healthy eating?

Good for you! No need to risk you life out there.

I took a snow day as well. I'm going to try and take a nap then start shoveling because once it turns to ice it'll be a hot mess.

So, I've only had one actual DD this week so far (Monday). Tues was an UD and yesterday and today are MDs so I can do an UD on V Day tomorrow. The weird thing is my energy has gone back up and is at a very good level lately. My weight isn't back below 200 yet but is moving in that direction.

I suppose it's possible that I wasn't eating enough. It's also just as possible that the antibiotics were dragging me down. Either way, I hope this means I will finally start losing well again.

That is encouraging - and I am sure you will figure out what you need to do to continue to lose. I vote for needing more calories. I am glad you have more energy also -

Right?
My main tip is google anything you have a question on. I did that all day yesterday and it was helpful. Mostly I wound up at the apple help site, but sometimes other blogs and sites.

Helps that I have an iPad mini, but there are differences (and weird ones). I have an android tablet, but my phone was a blackberry.
So the main thing for me is the typing!

No snow here, but I'm glad you ny and nj folks are staying in! Hope it all passes soon.

Glad you're feeling more yourself Frosty!

Have a good dd planned here too.

As for iPhones, my employer upgraded my work phone from an old flip phone to an iPhone (4C) a couple of months ago. A couple of weeks ago, I finally got around to trying to download an app to it and the app store said that my account had been disabled!

I got this back from the support person:

"your iTunes Store account was disabled because one of your devices was linked to unauthorized activity on the iTunes Store.

To reenable this account you may need to contact our Account Security team."

This is my iTunes account that I have bought a grand total of two things on over the years that I've had it and I've never had a "device" attached to it until I got the iPhone and that was the first time I had tried to get anything for the phone.

Now I have to spend a bunch of time on the phone with the security team (I'm allergic to talking on the phone; I mostly text if I can). I'm beyond annoyed.

I am heading down the road to DS's house in southern CA. It's about a 7 hour drive. Don't know when I'll be checking in. Maybe tonight or tomorrow I can pop in for a bit.

If not, continue to have fun without me 'til I "see" you again!

The weather everywhere is just mad it seems, flooding and snow in Oman too. Enjoy your snow days. Margaritas did someone say Margaritas?

Frosty hope you don't have to eat more...that would be so tough.

I love the Mac products but they can be tricky. When I first left Windows behind I thought I would go mental.

Yam-Yam, enjoy your time in southern CA with those boys. You are doing so well getting into all those summery clothes already.

So enjoying my DD I have the energy and the calm if that makes sense. It feels so good after too much eating.

I live 30 miles from the Canadian border in eastern Washington. Yesterday, we had 5" of snow in the morning. By the afternoon, it was sunny and 54° and the snow was melting like crazy. It's supposed to be in the mid-40's today, too, before going back to the mid-30's and snow next week.

Crazy stuff.

Finding the right balance of calories to both lose weight and have enough energy to function, or in my case exercise, is hard to do. I'm upping my calories on both workout and non-workout days until I am able to consistently perform in the gym. And hopefully at the same time I'll also drop a few pounds. Super difficult to do both.

For you the antibiotics and being sick are a additional complication that just makes it even more difficult.

I'm about sick of winter at this point and want some spring weather soon so I can get out and do some long walks and hiking. I miss being out and getting that low steady calorie burn.

I'm still not 100% convinced that I wasn't eating enough. I'm in a wait and see mode on that. However, I am familiar with that death warmed over feeling that happens when your metabolism down regulates, so I can keep an eye on that.

I agree that it's a tricky balance to lose weight but still have decent energy.

On Saturday my DD was under 200 calories. On Sunday I went to the Gym at 1pm and all I had was 2 cups of coffee. Talk about no strength and no energy. I usually don't eat before 2pm or 3pm at the earliest on UD, but I'm not going to be able to that when I go to the gym.
