Not hungry on UD

Is it normal not to be hungry after a DD? I know I have to take in more calories today, but so far, I'm just not hungry. Maybe later today

Very normal for many (not for me, but I may be an anomaly!). Some choose to extend their fast for a while longer and eat a bigger lunch.

I went through the same thing at first. However, it didn't last. I do get hungry on UDs now but I still frequently don't get hungry until later in the morning (10-11 am). Then - watch out!

The carry over from DD is amazing isn't it? Spend DD dreaming of the wonderful things you are going to eat tomorrow...wake up with no interest in food.

It is normal for many. As your body gets used to the rotation, UD appetite frequently comes back...or not.

If you feel good, there is nothing wrong with extending DD for awhile. But do leave time to get all of your UD calories in before bedtime!

Thanks, good to know. I really want to do JUDD right this time. I couldn't believe how easy my first DD was. I even walked 1.5 miles yesterday. Hope to walk today, but its raining here, and I'm just not that dedicated yet.

Yep! Go to bed starving hungry, wake up... meh.
But I'm usually ready for a good breakfast between 10 and 11am. I could easily wait till lunch, but I don't want to eat late into the evening, so I go ahead and eat earlier.

Yup. Happens to me all the time. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm not a huge breakfast eater. Despite this, almost every DD evening, when I want to eat, I dream of all the deliciousness I'll have for breakfast tomorrow morning. Then tomorrow morning rolls around and I'm not hungry - perfectly content with my coffee & HWC. It never happens that I eat in the morning yet every other evening, on my DDs, I dream of what I will eat tomorrow morning because tomorrow will be different. Whatever. My brain gets caught in a mental loop but it seems to work for me so I guess I'll roll with it!

it varies for me, but its very common to wake up on an uD and not be hungry. If I read everyone's menus, THEN I get hungry

I just roll with it.

Yes! I very rarely am hungry much before lunchtime, UD or DD. I also find that for me, there is a definite difference between not feeling hungry and actively NOT wanting to eat.

Most times, even if I'm not feeling hunger, I can eat, and really enjoy it. Lots of times I eat lunch before I feel hunger, and it feels good.

Then very occasionally I feel flat out like I don't want to eat. Not sick, but just slightly off in the stomach. Is that what you're talking about?

In other words, simply feeling "not hungry" never stops me from eating a meal, or getting my UD calories in.

I understand what you are saying. After the first day of Atkins, I was starving. This WOE seems totally different, I just don't feel like eating. I have gotten down about 330 cals today. Its going to be a long day.

I might eat breakfast tomorrow. I find that I have no trouble eating breakfast, even if I *could* skip it. I do want something by about 9 am if I'm at work. At home, I can go to lunch easily without food on UDs. But tomorrow I have a lunchtime meeting, and sometimes one or two people will bring their lunch into the meeting, but I'm not really comfortable doing that. Is that weird? So, I'm considering eating breakfast instead, because after the meeting would be kind of late to be eating...who knows what tomorrow will bring lol.

I ended up eating 1290 calories for the day. I think I could go up to another 500 calories, but its almost 8pm, and I refuse to eat after 8.

I can go all morning without anything except coffee and HWC. Today is an UD for me and I did just that. Ran around all morning in work from 7-10, then had 2 meetings till 12. I had another hour long meeting at 1, so I ate a lunch of soup and salad at 12. Really wasn't hungry, but if I didn't eat then, I would have to wait until 2p to eat.

You could drink something, like a milk shake, or just milk w/chocolate or something.
