DD Saturday - making it happen on the first weekend

Hola folks!

I have to go out with friends tonight, to a steak place.
Luckily, the menu is online.

I should be able to have a green salad, and a 10oz prime rib or sirloin, veggies, and that's it. Not too bad.

B: coffee pu'erh tea with a splash of vanilla almond milk- closest thing to hot chocolate I've found
Getting my caffeine in early! :jumpjoy::jumpjoy:

L: water? Gum, will see a movie before the dinner

D: as planned above. Should come to just under 600 cal.

Happy Saturday all!

LoCarbGal 01-04-2014 09:50 AM

DD, a movie, and a steakhouse. You're my hero! But it can definitely be done.

B: Hot black tea
L: Coffee/HWC
D: ??? Chicken breast w/mayo? Tuna and cheddar cheese? Maybe some roasted broccoli and cauliflower?

Target: 500 cals and 20 or less carbs

MaryEllenC 01-04-2014 09:57 AM

I'm in a down mood on my DD. Want nothing more than to soothe myself with food but am determined not to let that happen and stay within calorie limit today!

B: coffee w/h&h, constant comment hot tea

L: protein shake made with 1/2 c almond milk, 1/2 c water, packet of Yoohoo strawberry (sf...sort of like the Crystal Light singles), 1/2 scoop unflavored whey protein, 1/2 tsp gluc and 1 frozen strawberry

D: mu shu chicken lettuce wraps (found recipe in Cooking Light magazine)

If needed - broth or veggie soup

Target: 500 cals

Mary Ellen

l!

Soren - I've never heard of this, where did you get it?

mafiamom 01-04-2014 10:09 AM

hope your day is going a bit better for you, Mary Ellen.

DD here. so far, i'm hungry and not sure why. going to plow thru.

coffee with SF sweetener. water, lots of it. cup o soup if needed later. maybe a HB egg.

sorenkkg 01-04-2014 10:15 AM

M.E. - it was new to me too, and I got a sample, liked it, ordered more. I get most of my tea from David's tea, not sure if other companies have something similar. Google it, should come up quick.

I read that pu'erh is a type of fermented tea, a technique or something... This flavor uses that as a base, and adds coffee beans, chocolate and caramel flavor, and almonds, I think. Yummo!

Low Carb Librarian 01-04-2014 10:47 AM

Feeling a bit under the weather today...

B:hb egg(70)
L: nothing
D: soup (200)

Yam-Yam 01-04-2014 11:06 AM

DD for me. DH wants to zip out to a movie in 45 minutes. I hate the idea of being tempted by his big tub of hot buttered popcorn.

I may have a hot cup of camomile tea with a teaspoon of coconut oil right before we leave. this is something that usually kills my appetite without making me too hyper. Maybe I'll cut up some veggies like celery and green pepper and carrots to give me something to crunch on.

Yesterday was a bit of an UUAAD which included late night ice cream. I gotta make this a good DD as the scale is stuck. It was not up this morning, but if I mess up today it will either go up tomorrow or stay the same and I want it to go DOWN!!!

Carly 01-04-2014 12:16 PM

Coffee= 30
Broth= 10

May have another cup of coffee soon.

Bedtime snack:
Lettuce, cucumber, celery, pickle, 1/2 hardboiled egg= 72 calories.
Depending how I feel I may have an 80 calorie light and fit yogurt after the salad.

Yennie 01-04-2014 01:01 PM

I have a houseguest today - not sure for how long. My friend has left her husband and needed a safe place to stay temporarily. So I feel like a bad hostess not offering food but I also don't want to eat the food. We'll see how it plays out.
B: Coffee w HWC
L: More coffee w HWC
D: Not sure yet. I'll have some soup if I need to eat something.
I'd like this to be a great DD. I was actually UP after my last DD, and down again this morning after yesterday's UD. Oh, JUDDD, you funny funny beast!

Kissa 01-04-2014 01:16 PM

Great DD

Went to see Jude Law in Henry V which was wonderful. Had a couple of diet cokes instead of the wine I would normally enjoy.

1 Americano with a splash of milk
2 diet cokes
2 beef sausages cooked in onions
Green beans

Hope your day improves Mary Ellen.

TOM arrived a few days early and I am craving food. I did give in a little, but I'm sticking to liquids for the remainder of the day.

L: Dannon orange creme yogurt
S: Two mini honey barbecue wings

geobom 01-04-2014 02:59 PM

This is the 1st DD in the last month where I am not starving.

B- coffee with H/H
L- nothing
D- waiting to have chips & salsa for the football game tonight.

Kathy

Brendajm 01-04-2014 03:37 PM

Coffee and co
L-cabbage sauté with tuna and laughing cow cheese. 100??
D- snow craw legs 220, had some wine. 150
I got to cut out the wine and I could save a lot of calories. That is my ny resolution.

Yam-Yam 01-04-2014 03:52 PM

I survived the popcorn without eating one kernel! Whew! I chopped up green peppers and celery and took along one ounce of cold roast beef wrapped in foil. Bought a small diet coke and didn't finish it, but it kept me full. Great victory for me today!!!

Might have an egg for dinner or maybe just more raw veggies or veggie soup. Not sure. Gonna try to keep it low, low, low!

Yennie: So sorry to hear about what your friend is going through. You are certainly a wonderful person to provide a safe haven for her.

Brendajm 01-04-2014 04:52 PM

Yah YamYam. You did good. I hope to get thru the next few hours watching football without anything else but water.

itsmeshelly01 01-04-2014 04:53 PM

Kinda more of a medium day today.

2 eggs and half a piece of toast for breakfast

That is a great idea! I love red, yellow, and orange bell peppers! I will have to try that next time I go to a movie.

I should have brought some today ... I blew my DD at a party for my son's friend. The food wasn't even good! I was just surrounded by it.

Someone was talking about that very thing on another thread. I mean, how we sometimes eat just because it's there or because people expect us to eat at celebrations, parties or family dinners, etc.

Don't say you blew it, though. Just say you made an adjustment. You were flexible. You either had a high DD or a MD. Then enjoy a controlled UD tomorrow and call it success!

Oh, I wanted to tell you a funny thing. When I started munching on my green peppers at the movie, Dh leaned over and said, "Oh! Those green peppers smell good! Can I have some? :hyst: He was sitting there scarfing down hot popcorn with butter from a big tub and telling me my vegetables smelled good! Have to say, I didn't even smell the popcorn!:hyst:

Eieio 01-04-2014 07:22 PM

YAM my first bthought. R U KIDDING ME!
Not eating popcorn? I couldn't never do that.
But I did take chopped celery, apple bites and raisins to the movie other day.
Bites of veggies, fruit went well with popcorn. May start having it here at home on popcorn suppers.
I never even thought of NOT Eating the PC at the show....unreal.
U R amazing :)
I'm so glad your having great success again with Juddd.

Yam-Yam, my daughter brought my favorite ice cream late last night, so we are partners in crime. Because of that I did not weigh this morning! After reading potato hack/lemon water blogs last night I started the day with lemon water. Didn't feel hungry until about 5 pm and that was after 11 mile walk! It was either the lemon water or left over carbs from the ice cream:dunno:
442 for the day. So feel pretty good.:D

Yay! Victory! And wowzers, Girlie. An 11 mile walk? Good for you. :jumpjoy::jumpjoy: I'm giving you a pat on the back!:high5:

sorenkkg 01-04-2014 09:10 PM

Good job Yam! I was at a movie, and had a cough drop and then mint gum... Got hungry, but was like, we're going for dinner , and it went away... Went all day till 10pm without food!
That's a first for me!

Dinner was as planned, though they ran out of prime rib :annoyed: but I had looked up the values on the 12oz sirloin, so I had a backup plan :D

And the veggies! I think there was a whole zucchini (4 quarter sticks) and red/yellow peppers, and a wee but of asparagus.

Their sit says I'm at 576 for the meal. :dunno: but I put it in my tracker and it seems pretty right.
Total dd victory! Not the lowest calories, but shows with planning, you can go out and not "suffer" or eat weirdly.
It was all LC too :)

OMG...I'm making baked doughnuts for tomorrow !:jumpjoy:

Owning up to my bad behavior and admitting that it all went haywire after dinner last night. Was really hungry throughout most of the day, even after taking 150mg ptero and was in a depressed mood for most of the day. Once the floodgates opened In the evening hours I ate tortilla chips with cheese, mini bag of microwave popcorn, payday candy bar, baked custard, cup of broccoli rice casserole, and half box of milk duds. All this on top of the already 400 calories I had throughout the day.

Really struggling to get back to clean DDs!

Mary Ellen

sorenkkg 01-05-2014 04:26 PM

:hugs: MaryEllen!

Have a clean UD (or dd?) and pick up at the next one!
No "bad", just higher cal.

mafiamom 01-06-2014 06:33 AM
