Gorgeous, gorgeous photo Carly.

I have had a great day, we went to the West End to see Jude Law in Henry V, it was a brilliant production and he was amazing. We saw him a year or so ago and he is such an accomplished stage actor.

Tomorrow we are off to the cinema to see Robert Redford in All is Lost. But tomorrow is an up day so we will go out for lunch first.

Yikes - very competent pilot and some good reactions from drivers if the injuries are only minor.

We're considering Jude Law if we can get tickets on an evening we're available. I hear it's a superb performance and you've now verified that.

I just got my FitBit Flex from Amazon. Sooo excited! At first it seemed kind of silly to buy a device which will tell me what I already know: I'm too sedentary! But then I read what other people were writing about it and I got the vibe that I will be competing against myself to top my previous numbers and it will keep me motivated. So I bought one. Just finished setting it up and now it's on my wrist!

Also I suspect that I have sleep apnea so now I guess after a few night's sleep reporting I will find out if I need to see a sleep specialist and get a CPAP or something.

Were you actively trying to lose? If so, then I am sorry that you are stalled as well, because I was definitely doing rotations the majority of the time and trying to lose. Congrats on maintaining your substantial loss!

I agree, Carly your pic is gorgeous! And, Kissa, I am just so jealous that you get to see Jude Law in the flesh! How awesome.

Glad you got your fitbit, and hopefully it can help you figure out if anything is wrong with your sleep patterns.

Big news :)

We've been havering about moving home for some time. DH used to travel for work either every week or every 2nd week (US/Canada) so it made sense to be within ready travelling distance of 3 airports.

However, he doesn't do that frequent travel with his present job, so, it's time for us to think about moving somewhere that suits us better for other reasons. Housing prices in SE England are absurd. So, it's a split between moving to a smaller property near London to reduce our commute time and costs (we live less than 35 miles from the centre of London but the commute is just under £5000 pa for his ticket alone) or moving further out which would add a bit onto the commute time but might give us more space (and actually allow us to buy/store a kayak).

Anyhow, the housing market is very busy round us at present so we've been thinking that we need to spruce up our house a bit and put it on the Spring market. But, we need to be able to shift things around to work on stuff and it makes everything take much longer and it's difficult for contractors as well.

Big news today - we've sorted a short-term rental/flat-sit in London. We've been very fortunate, it's a friend of the family who is more concerned about having reliable people in his home while he's posted abroad for 5 months than the rental return so we'll be working on our house with a view to selling it in the Spring.

The location will substantially reduce both commute times and costs and we can use the money saved from that to put some of our stuff into storage to make it physically easier to work on our own house (rather than playing the tile game of constantly moving stuff to have access).

The location is near enough to our paddle clubs to allow us to maintain our kayaking as well. I actually can't believe this is happening as it's so ideal for us. Lots of good thoughts please that for some implausible reason, this doesn't all just go awry (I tried to quote some Burns but got fed up disagreeing with the auto-correct).

Brrr Laonak! Our current temp is -11, wind chill is -17. I wanna move to Hawaii!!

Taking youngest DD back to college today, *sniff*, already missing my baby.

Down Day today but DH wants to go to Outback for dinner. I'm thinking if I completely fast (just coffee and water) until then and have just a petite fillet and steamed/grilled veggies it should work out okay.

Wow SS! I'll be sending lots of good thoughts your way!

It's really cold here, too. Currently 19 degrees, but warming during afternoon. We are under a freezing rain advisory at the moment but on Tuesday I think the low is predicted to be 2 degrees.

Wonderful new SS! Thinking positive thoughts.

So the whole freezing rain and snow on the ground thing means I'm staying inside today. There's nothing that I need outside. It's playoff Sunday anyway so I'm going to relax.

What a wonderful opportunity, Slow!

It's still tolerable here, but the cold will come roaring in tonight. Tomorrow the "high" will be below zero. I'll be curious to see how I feel - I am always so cold on DDs that I wonder if it actually being below zero will make me feel colder, or if I'll just feel frozen as usual lol. We did finally get our log-burner installed (my last year's Christmas present!) but don't have any dry wood in the house and the fields are full of snow, so doubt we'll be able to try it out yet.

I'd love to sell our home, but it's looking like I'll never be able to pry DH out of here, even though selling it has always been a huge part of our retirement plans.

Sorry so many JBs are suffering with extra cold weather. Stay warm and safe!

I'm on Day 4 back on rotations, and am feeling lighter and slimmer already. I'm afraid to check it against the scale and will definitely do no-weigh until at least 1/17 (after DD). I'm just glad to be feeling more like myself. Thanks JUDDD!

Yay SS! Such exciting news for you both. Commuting can be a huge drag!
This morning, when I left the house to head down to the barn, it was hovering around freezing. I wanted to whinge, I really did, but then I remembered that my friends in the midwest, where I used to live, were dealing with temps a full 60* colder than my morning. I was telling a friend at the barn this observation and we both agreed it was tough to imagine, when we were so cold, something 60* colder.
I do remember those streaks where the high was still below 0*F. I wondered then, and now, why do people live there? Why did I live there?
Stay warm JUDDD Buds!

Thank you all, so much! The powerful force of JB's positive intentions seems to be working as we've been emailing, phoning, scanning and sending documents through and we've just heard that we're scheduled to pick up the keys on Wednesday evening.

We both go through security and financial checks on a regular basis as part of work so it seems as if the checks for this have just flown through so unless something very odd happens, we'll be moving within the next 10 days or sooner.

tbh, I do rather fancy that but DH loathes cold water and it took him long enough to be persuaded into trying out kayaking (which he now enjoys tremendously). So, who knows - at some point, we may well be outdoor swimming and aspiring to join the Polar Bear Club

YAY....my 49ers persevered! On to next weekend!

We had an interesting experience last evening. We wanted to take a friend who is visiting to a restaurant he hadn't been to before so off to Lanakai we go. As we were walking into the restaurant we were wanded down, frisked and my purse thoroughly searched. We, of course asked why and they wouldn't tell us. We assumed President Obama would be arriving. That is exactly what happened. He and his family and a few other friends showed up. They waved to all of us and then sat down. They were sitting 3 tables away from us. We had the Secret Service seated next to us and had a nice chat with them.

Dinner was good, too!

We have a dinner out every night this week and into next week! I'm going to try to just eat one main meal each day. We will see how this works. The next 2 months are going to be a challenge as we travel off island. Hopefully low carb will be the answer. If not, I know I can get back on plan the end of February. I survived the summer travels so hopefully this will be the same. JUDDD really is remarkable!
