For those doing the same foods on each DD, please share

I notice several times that many here have the same foods each and every DD, could you all tell us just what those foods are? :high5:

I have several menus.
B - coffee with HWC
L - HB egg
D - HB egg
and anytime I am hungry a HB egg at 75 calories each. A dab of hot mustard on each.

B - coffee with HWC
L - thin sliced turkey wrapped around pickle spears that have been sliced into thirds. About 75 calories
D - broth or broth based thin soup with greens from the garden like chard or spinach.

B - coffee with HWC
L - HB patty with ketchup and pickles
D - repeat lunch. These are small HB patties I cook myself from homegrown beef from the freezer.

The pattern for these appears to be protein. And nothing fancy. PLain jane protein.

Carly 12-29-2013 02:24 PM

I usually have 1 cup of coffee with 30 calories of sugar free creamer in the morning around 6am.

Then I have 2 standard bedtime snacks that I typically eat:

3 Kim's deli pops= 30 (Sometimes I use a magic pop or Suzie Thin Cakes)
1 Laughing cow light wedge= 35
.5 oz Turkey pepperoni= 35
Total= 100

OR

Big Salad:
3oz lettuce= 15
3oz cucumber= 12
3oz celery= 12
2oz pickles= 8
.5oz turkey pepperoni= 35
Total= 82

If I'm really hungry I have Dannon Light and Fit yogurt for an additional 80 calories.

Every now and then I may add tuna to the salad or have PB2 on the deli pops rather than laughing cow, but the above are my go to snacks.

Yennie 12-29-2013 03:22 PM

I usually have:
B: Coffee with HWC and SF Vanilla
L: Baked potato with bone broth and either a wedge of LC cheese or A1 sauce or salsa
D: Repeat lunch or sometimes baked potato wedges
My DDs are sometimes higher calories when following the potato hack theory of eating the potato with little to no fat to mobilize peripheral fat to utilize insulin to properly digest the carbs.
It works really well for me, as long as I drink enough water.

Brendajm 12-29-2013 03:28 PM

My fav dd repeat is egg white for late breakfast then tuna for lunch and dinner. Always start the day with coffee with CO in it

KeirasMom 12-29-2013 06:14 PM

B: (If I want it) is either a Quest protein bar or FF Greek yogurt
L: Always! Small Wendy's chili with Trader Joe's habanero hot sauce (often onions too for another 4 calories)
D: Here's where I vary. Sometimes it's just Miso soup, sometimes a tilapia filet with salsa and a veggie, sometimes tuna Zoodle casserole. It just depends on my mood and hunger.

Librarygirl 12-29-2013 06:34 PM

I am one who varies DD meals. I find that it doesn't really make much difference anymore, but in the beginning I needed a definite plan which included (like Adi's), turkey and pickle spears for lunch, celery or baby carrots to snack (counted and weighed), cabbage with LC cheese and chicken for dinner...although I have always varied my dinner menu.

Now, even if there's nothing really in the house, I don't panic on DD's. I can have an egg and 2 slices of bacon (low fat bacon), for 130 calories, etc.

vanilla_latte 12-30-2013 12:16 PM

This is what I typically have for Down Days.

B: Bulletproof Coffee (scaled down, just 1 tsp. each of CO, butter, HWC)
L: YoCheese Pudding (Greek yogurt, dry jello, couple squirts of canned whipping cream, Stevia)
D: LC tortilla with some tuna and mayo OR LC Blueberry "Cobbler" (cottage cheese, few blueberries, SF blueberry syrup, Stevia)

I sip on chicken broth, hot tea, water, and usually have a cup of coffee with 1 T cream during the day.

theredhead 12-30-2013 12:32 PM

I never eat breakfast on DDs. Around noon, I'll have a Lean Cuisine Herb Roasted Chicken dinner for 170 calories. It has a nice chicken breast, broccoli, red pepper, and potatoes in a mushroom sauce. Very tasty! I follow that with a 100-calorie microwave popcorn pack for a snack.

Between 5 and 6 pm, I eat my dinner of two scrambled eggs, sprayed with no calorie butter spray and a sprinkle of bacon bits (about 170 calories). For "dessert", I have a filling 2 cups of Calorie Countdown Chocolate Milk for 160 calories. Yummy! My favorite!

There are occasional days when I end up at Costco on Sunday after church on a DD. I then choose to eat their chocolate frozen yogurt cup (it's huge!) for roughly 390 calories. Later in the day, I may have eggs or milk to make up the rest of the calories for the day.

I drink copious amounts of iced tea every day. It's a habit to always have a glass next to me and I refill frequently. I also drink an occasional diet soft drink. It doesn't seem to bother me in any way.

My DH eats the same way as I do, and it's a no-brainer to prepare our meals on DDs. My parents have adopted the habit of down at least one down day each week, and they eat the same things I do. My mom is impressed with how well it's helped them manage their weight. Both of them have been overweight for much of their lives, but in recent years have been able to keep it down, and this helps a lot.

I've been maintaining well for almost two years, using 600 calorie down days.

Yam-Yam 12-30-2013 01:23 PM

I'm thinking about adopting the same DD menu since it works so well for so many JUDDers.

Saturday I had my home made veggie soup with 3 ounces of lean roast beef. for lunch. Just coffee for breakfast and nothing else but water all day.

It kept me so satisfied that I decided to repeat it today only I had 4 ounces of tilapia instead of the beef with my soup.

I was extremely hungry today and that killed my hunger. Now I'm doing much better.

leonak 12-30-2013 04:05 PM

Thank You to each and everyone that answered! All was very much appreciated too!

I noticed little to no food was fruit and/or vegetables! I also noticed some foods I have never used - those rice looking cakes and low calorie chocolate milk, also very little if no "fake" food!

Also, many have way less then the 500 calories on a DD!

KeirasMom 12-30-2013 04:34 PM

 I see lots of menus with veggies. Fruits have a lot of calories for a small portion (usually, though I have strawberries on DDs in the summer), but lots of us use veggies for bulk with very little calories.

Slimming-up 12-30-2013 04:58 PM

I don't eat fruit on DDs because of the sugar/calories.

Every morning, DD or UD, I drink coffee with H&H.

After that, on my DD, all I eat is cabbage/veggie soup. Tons of veggies. Nothing else.
:)

My error - sorry :dunno: I meant no fruit but some-how I wrote veggies too :stars: My age is getting the best of me at times!:hyst::cry::cry:

I did this a few times, or close to it. I would really prefer not to eat at all and coffee fixed like this does hold me nicely. Need to remember to try that again.

Demonica 12-31-2013 02:58 PM

I usually have:

B- coffee with HWC
L- water, a HB egg with mustard
S- chicken with 1/2 C broccoli and 1 tbsp of soy sauce seasoned with ginger and garlic, Carbmaster yogurt, 1/4 c cottage cheese and sometimes another HB egg

Except for yesterday. Water and cough drops was it

itsmeshelly01 12-31-2013 03:04 PM

I always start my day with bulletproof coffee. On DD's it is 1/2T co in my coffee with some sugar free flavor and blended in my nutribullet. On UD's i add 1T co and butter and half and half.

I have varied what i eat but have stuck to having soup for lunch adn then maybe yogurt for a snack and then more soup for dinner.

Today though i didnt have anythign made except boiled eggs so i put one of those tuna cups in a bowl with a boiled egg and added some spices and some jalapeno mustard and mashed that together. I had that for lunch at work with a weight watchers cheese stick and it held me all afternoon. I think this will be my staple from now on. It is 190 calories.
Then i had a pear for a snack and dinner will be soup.
I found a great soup recipe that i posted on the recipe board and i think im gonna make that this weekend for dinners next week.

wiiiifit 12-31-2013 06:38 PM

I have a list of things that I rotate including boiled eggs, thin sliced bacon, rollups with ham/turkey and cheese, vegetable soup, taco soup, bone broth, chili, salad, roast chicken and green beans. If I end up running errands I occasionally will have a mozzarella stick or crunchy taco while I'm out. EVERY thing on my list is under 200 calories...some way under.

Joyjoy 12-31-2013 11:22 PM

These days: coffee with minuscule amounts of cream or coconut oil, broth, and hard boiled eggs if I need them.

DrwhoTardisRose 02-03-2014 03:52 PM

I drink jasmine/green tea in the morning with truvia and for lunch I have a progresso light soup and another soup for dinner and then more green tea if I feel hungry later in the evening:)

BroadwayBaby 02-05-2014 04:41 PM

I have two DD things I eat all the time and never get sick of them (of course I've only been on JUDDD for 3 weeks)

Bean Tostada per tostada 105 calories. I usually have 3 for a DD dinner of 315 calories sometimes 2 is enough. I usually put a little water in a pan with some seasonings so I can thin out fat free refried beans, it makes it easier to spread on a tortilla that I've baked crispy on a cookie sheet with coconut oil spray. I pile it with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and tabasco. So yummy.

Breakfast sanny for 155 calories. I toast up 2 slices of Trader Joe's light whole wheat bread 80 cals, 1 slice Trader Joe's canadian bacon 20 cals, 1 slice weight watchers American cheese single, 3 TBS liquid egg whites 25 calories which I cook in a non stick pan with quick spray of coconut oil spray and 1/2 teaspoon grey poupon. So yummy.

Don't know if you are not eating carbs but those are my main 2 staples I eat on almost every DD.

Ya welcome! I love 'em!

calichris 02-08-2014 11:39 PM

BB, what kind of tortilla do you use for the tostada? They sound great, and so does the breakfast sandwich.... thanks for sharing. :)

That is my question as well!
Thanks Chris.

Scarlett46 02-09-2014 12:34 PM

I almost always eat the same thing on DDs... Still post it in the DD threads though...
Can't go without my coffee w/ creamer
Drink plenty of water (typically I shoot for 64 oz) - flavor makes it easier to get it all in
Greek yogurt around 3pm (the protein holds me over perfectly)
Chicken breast & Italian blend veggies for dinner

Brendajm 02-09-2014 05:34 PM

That tostado sounds great.

Thanks Chris.

I just use a regular corn tortilla, whatever is on sale that has a calorie count of 50-55 cals each.
