Another thing that works for me are sugar free cherry flavored cough drops. They just stain my mouth with powerful flavor and I don't want to put anything else in.

Our movie theater does not seem to care about bringing snacks and drinks. I've walked right in with my own drink and no one ever said anything. Sometimes I bring a zip lock bag with chopped veggies and that helps too. I should bring a "just-in-case" bag of veggies to keep my mouth busy.

I'll buy a diet soft drink because the carbonation fills me up. Your gluc shake is a good idea too.

What do you put in yours? Give me a good recipe and I'll break out the gluc. Have not had any in a while.

Unsweetened almond milk, mixed half and half with coconut milk (about 225ml of each which is possibly about 6-8 fl oz) and about 1/2-2/3rd tsp of glucomannan powder (it thickens quite a bit on standing so this is very much a matter of preference). The flavour is a mix of defatted cocoa powder with whichever SF syrup flavours I have and the whole is thoroughly blended. DH and I then split this between us.

A thinner version of this glucomannan chocolate pudding works well as a shake.

A blend of the almond milk with PB2 is good, particularly with some SF French Vanilla Syrup or a little banana syrup (or half of a frozen banana, if you can spare the calories).

Great to "see" you, Vanilla! It definitely feels good to be back here. I was just thinking how helpful it is for me just to read how everyone is doing. It keeps me going when I don't feel like going.

That it does. I let my frustration at losing so achingly slow that I run off for other things to try. But when I come back here to read up on everyone (although I'm a notorious lurker), I want to jump back in with both feet.

Me too. And I learn things. I did not know Dr. J wrote a new book. Glad I am back here to read about that. And Varady's book, too. We just gotta stick with this, Vanilla! This time next year we could be at goal!

I can't give you an exact formula for size, but adults generally need a hoop much larger that some of us used as children. They can take a bit of practice to get going. And a word of caution, start slowly, as they can make the midsection rather tender for a few days.

Thanks! I'm going to work my way up to anything new. Right now it's walking on the treadmill, around the neighborhood which is very hilly and around our lake which is one mile. They have markers so you know when you have reached 1/3, 1/2/ 3/4 so it's kind of fun. The water's pretty, although it's a bit low because we are in a drought, the sky is blue and the ducks are everywhere. Just gotta be careful where I step if you know what I mean!

Sort of. I have a room that used to be my office. All my book shelves are still there full of books. My sewing machine is in there. And recently I bought bunk beds for when the grand kids stay over. I was going to turn it into a workout room, but then every time the kids stay over, which is quite often cos they love gramma yam-yam , I would have to move all my stuff out. Hassle! big time!

I have my treadmill with a TV and wireless headphones in the kitchen eating area behind the table. The treadmill folds up (the Sears model) So it does not get in the way of the table although it does not look lovely there but so what! Most of the time it's just me and DH here.

My Eliptical cross trainer is a small, manual Wal-mart model and it's up against a wall in the living room where we have our big TV.

My stationery bike is in a corner in my bedroom along with my free weights which are under the bed!!! My house is multi-tasking.

I do keep the swiss ball in the "spare" room. And my Reedbock step is in the hall closet! It hardly ever comes out. lol.

Just realized that if I wanted to and was motivated, I could exercise in almost every room of my house, including the closet!!!

Hmmmmmmm....I could call it circuit training! I even have a kettle bell in my bedroom!

Went to the doctor and got the results from blood work and mine came back excellent.
My doctor asked me what I was doing to maintain such good numbers for such a long time! Of course, I told him about JUDDD. He told me that he'd been doing some reading on it, and to continue eating that way....as if I wouldn't....

There was a time my blood work didn't reflect good numbers!

Oh, and I'm taking 2 EFAs every morning, and 2 each night, and I'm sure that was a big help!

I'm happy!

Do you take Fish Oil?

I do. My doc recommended the cholesterol free fish oil capsules. Sometimes I wonder if those are better or not since it seems like the cholesterol in fish would be good cholesterol. What do you think?

I was taking Carlson's fish oil up for the longest time and when I ran out of it I simply purchased another brand.....but would use Netrition's Carlson Fish Oil again! I think if I remember correctly, I used the liquid form, and I rather stay away from the liquids now only because of convenience.

My Megas include 800 mg of EPA and 400 mg of DHA

ETA: IMO, I think the cholesterol in fish would be good!

I agree, I'd think cholesterol from fish would be fine. Actually, an article I read (a link on FB, from Dana Carpender posting a few days ago-- "how to stop an argument with a nutritionist" or something like that) reminds us that cholesterol isn't necessarily bad.

It's like old home week around here now! So happy to see old faces as well as new!

Dear Yam Yam - we went to your favorite restaurant last night. Hubby and I shared a steak and cauliflower after having salad. Of course, I had to start with my favorite libation as we watched the sun go down!

We are having cool weather for here, but the wind died down last night and it was lovely sitting outside. We wore slightly warmer clothing than normal...

You are doing great at being back on JUDDD!
