Carol, I have asked for a Hula hoop for Xmas, but don't think I am getting one. If not I shall buy my own in the New Year.
However you get your hula hoop, I hope you love it like I do! I have come to really enjoy it!

Looking great! Nice to "see" you!

A bit drippy here today after several very sunny days. Off to do a few errands....

We really had a blast. Great friends, great food, great wine. It was a lot of merry making! The planner took pictures of each couple by the tree. It's been a while since we had a nice couple's photo taken so I liked it.

DH and I are both pudgier than we want to be! On the drive home this morning we talked about the JUDD plan and calories and exercise. I think we will definitely be getting healthier in 2014 and we will reach our goals!

Hope you are all having a great day!

Do you think it will hurt my hips or back? My lower spine is fused so I don't know if I can do the swishing motion

I'll look into more in the new year.

Yam- the picture of you and DH is lovely!

Leona: So sorry for your loss as well. This is not a nice club to be in. I have now lost three siblings. Two brothers and now my sister. I don't think the grieving ever goes away. Time heals to an extent, but there is always a vacant place in my heart. My late sister and I used to talk for hours on the phone quite often.

Seriously sometimes when the phone rings now and I recognize the PA area code I take a deep breath and pray before I can say hello. One of my sisters has Alzheimer's. My other two sisters and I have become very, very close through all of this and I am so grateful for their presence in my life. We talk, face-time and write constantly. And, every chance we get we hook up for some girl time, which is not easy from 3000 miles away!

I'm so glad to have my JUDD Budds here who care and understand. Oh, and you all understand why comfort food and I became such good friends this year. Yikes.

Kissa: Thanks. I have not wanted to buy clothes this year. That's the first time I bought something new to wear in a long, long time.

I'm not sure Carly. You know, I think doing it has strengthened my back, but it did hurt a bit at first. I think you'll be able to do it, there's not that much lower back movement really, when I do it. I feel like most of my movement is generated from my legs, so the hips may be an issue. I hope you give it a try and it feels good.

Thank you! I took 2 Naproxin (strong pain killer) before I left. And, I only had a few sips of wine because I didn't want to fall asleep at the party! And I iced my back then took a hot bath right before the party. It was in the ball room at the hotel we were staying at, so we didn't have to go far which was good.

Speaking of hoola-hoops: How do you know what size to buy? I heard you have to do some math and it has something to do with your waist size? Is that true?

With my serious back problem, I do wonder if I could do it.

I bought some aerobic hula DVDs. My grand daughter and I did one together and some moves I could not do. Then afterwards I was in pain for two days.

Wondering if hoola-hoop would cause me problems too. "

Before I got my hula hoop, I read something about having to have a specific size too. There's websites out there that help you calculate what you need, and then offer to sell you a specially sized hula hoop for like triple what mine at Walmart cost. And that one is just fine for me.

I really don't know about the back issues. I have had lower back pain and some muscle spasms myself, but not since starting to hula hoop. I really do feel stronger in my back. But if it triggers some kind of attack, that's no good.

Thanks, Carol. I'll do a little web research on the sizing thing before I dive in to hooping. Right now I'm proud of myself for walking 30 minutes on the treadmill every day.

OK. I don't want to get too excited. And as I said, I'm only weighing after DDs for these first two weeks. However, when I stepped on the scale at 7 a.m. this morning, I was 5 pounds down.

I know it's water weight mostly because I've been draining the tea and water like crazy!!! I was in the little girl's room 5 times during the night last night!!! Luckily I fell right back to sleep every time.

I feel less bloated in my tummy and everywhere. So my body tissues must have gotten the message to release the fluids. Just hoping some nasty fat cells are draining out too!!!

I don't want to change the stats yet on my Avi. Too depressing. Gotta kep the mo-jo up.

I had a very successful MD yesterday. 835 calories. Stayed satisfied and now my rotations are reset so I can enjoy a nice dinner out with at my friend's birthday and also relaxed about Christmas being an UD. Yay!

Yesterday was my fourth full day back on JUDDD. More good news as the scale was down another full pound this morning!!!!!

-6 pounds in only 4 full days is a great start. I keep reminding myself it's just water weight mostly disappearing. However, I already feel so much less bloated and that's amazing in itself!

I will be bummed when the inevitable slow down happens, but if I keep coming here I will stay empowered.

Thanks to all of you for your support and the way you welcomed me back with no judgement or smack down because I fell off the wagon. You are all just the best people in the world!

I do it with my Honey, and I really like the companionship, and being able to share the experience.

Not deliberately. LOL! I prepare most of his meals, and I was tweaking them so he was eating lower calorie, high fiber on DDs. He did lose weight and felt great. While we were driving down south a few weeks ago I read some pages to him from the ADF book I was reading. He really enjoyed it and I think he "gets" it now. He is stuck on 3 square meals a day and hates even thinking about counting calories.

But this morning he asked me if today will be a down day for me. That's a first!! He was going to cook up a big ham and cheese omelet and asked me if I wanted him to make one for me. That's when he said, "Oh, but is this a DD for you?"

I loved it! I said, yep. I didn't stuff myself yesterday. Our DD was with us and we enjoyed our Christmas so much. She and I love mashed potatoes. We had our big meal early in the afternoon. Then we grazed all day after that. There was wine involved! And we all took an afternoon nap! Fun!

I didn't add up my calories but I probably reached my 2000 UD count or possibly went a bit over. That was due to apple pie ala mode!!!

This morning I actually felt happy and ready to dive in on a good DD. I'm feeling very peaceful and happy about it.

Avoided the scale like the plague this morning! Ha! I'm only weighing after DDs right now.

DH and I are going to see a movie this afternoon. Either the Mr. Banks movie or the Walter Mitty one. My problem is that he always gets a big bucket of movie popcorn. I'm going to have to chew gum or something to not be tempted by it.

Gum, strong mints/eucalyptus, TicTacs and dehydrated kale are my cinema bring-alongs That and glucomannan shakes if I'm fairly sure it's not the sort of cinema that searches you for forbidden snacks/drinks. (AFAIK, no cinema I attend ban them but other branches do, so I've heard.)
