How Long Did It Take You to Reach Your Goal Weight?

I was wondering how long it took you to reach goal weight on JUDDD. Or if you are not at goal weight how long did it take you to get to where you are today in your weight loss?

20 months.

But for 12 of those months, I wasn't following JUDDD (or anything) as a whole pile of life happened.

I returned to JUDDD late 2012/early 2013. After a few bumps, I took a break from WLM after almost 5 months and then reached my goal during my WLM break after which I continued in maintenance and lost a bit more.

Over a year but I enjoyed the journey with many UUAD's though.

It's been over a year for me, and I have about the same amount left to lose, but I have never been successful at any diet at all, so this is a blessing for me.

WOE: Back to JUDDD!
It took me one year to lose 97 pounds (my first goal was 100 pounds in a year, so that was close enough for me)! After that, I've taken several maintenance breaks and just sort of lost when/if I felt like it, and maintained when/if I felt like it. That's been another year (just realized my 2 year JUDDDiversary was last week! How'd I miss that?).

HAPPY JUDDDiversary, Dawn!!!!!

It took me nine months to lose 50 pounds. But there were lots of maintenance vaycays and I stalled myself a few times with various eating experiments (and once by eating too little on UDs for six weeks). In general, when losing, I averaged 2 pounds/week.

Oh, then after I called goal it took almost 5 more pounds lost before I figured out how to rotate, keep my NSVs, and stop losing

Nice losses over the months!
Well my answer, I keep losing and regaining my ugly 10 pounds I'd love to never see again.
I'm not a good one for this thread.
I LC and lost nicely before finding Juddd.
Then decided to try woe. I missed fruit terribly, every day on LC.
Life's to short to dream about eating an apples, orange.

I've been JUDDDing for 41 weeks. I am down 41.5 pounds. (202 -> 160.5 this morning)

It did not come off at a steady one pound per week. There have been quick dips downward, and boring stalls. But that's a pretty good average.

As a catchy gimmick, "Lose One Pound per Week!" is never going to do it. But combined with how easy JUDDD is, it is perfect for me. I have no fears about making it to my first goal (154) or whatever my eventual goal turns out to be.

For someone with 50 pounds to lose, it may sound discouraging. "You mean it will take a whole year to lose the weight?" But you'll be a year older anyway. Better to be down 50 pounds after a year, than have shot down in four months, and then gained it back. Which, sadly, is how it happens for lots of quicker diets.

I am very heartened by the amount of people who have had LONG-TERM success with JUDDD. That's what I'm looking for.

I'm also averaging a pound a week. It would have cone off faster if I hadn't taken a break but I did & I'm accounting for that. In strict WLM I can do about 10# in 6 weeks.
Personally I think the slower is comes off, the more likely you are to maintain it. But that's my opinion. Not fact.

i haven't really been on it long enough to comment and i am not at goal weight, but so far i have lost 10 lbs in a little over 2.5 months.

considering i was stalled at 137 for the better part of a year, i call that a success!!

I LOVE JUDDD!

It's been 6 months for me, and I've lost 33 lb. I took a 10 day break out of the country, but came back 1 lb lower!
Other than that, I've been steady freddy - just over a pound/week.

I'm less than 2 lb. from goal - it's kind of scary thinking about what to do at that point. New goal for the new year is to get physically fit - I can only focus on one thing at a time. So I don't know what my goal weight is at this point. DH says I should be done...
Maybe 5 more pounds of loss, then focus on firming up.
I may very well be backwards in my approach - probably should have firmed up FIRST, then continued on with weigh loss, but I just wanted it OFF!

Happy JUDDDiversary Dawn! Two years!

I'm not to goal yet, but I've lost 89 pounds on JUDDD over the last 15 months, so that's an average of 1.5 pounds per week. It wasn't that linear though. I've had stalls, and I've had weeks where I've lost 5 or 6 pounds.

When I think about a faster plan, I remind myself that no other plan I've ever heard of allows you to eat what you want half the time. So in a way, I guess we could say it's more like 3 pound a week of actual dieting. I'm liking the sound of that.

Happy anni, sweet Dawn!!!!!!!!!

8 months of pretty strict Juddding for me, then I lost another 7-12# under goal afterwards. Still maintaining under goal at this point.

You can do it!!! It's a fabulous way to enjoy your life while losing weight. I never thought that was possible to do at the time.

See, I'm not so sure you didn't go about it the right way after all. Well, actually, the right way for you is the way you wanted to work it and what makes you happy but as a discussion...

I noticed muscles coming out as I shed fat, muscles I didn't even really know were there but I had not worked on firming at all. I think if one were to try to firm first, lose second, the work of the firm would be lost under the flab and perhaps discouragement might set in which would make it tough to keep on keeping on.

I lost my first 40# with virtually no exercise. Loses, per the scale, have slowed dramatically since I started lifting but I'm shrinking and toning and clothes are looser so clearly progress is being made. BUT I want that scale number DOWN, dang it! If I'd tried to firm and lose at the same time, I would have mentally sabotaged myself.

I think you have the right of it!

The thing I like about this sub-forum is that there are people here that got to goal (or below) actually doing the program (and have maintained it). It seems like on most weight loss forums, people can get to a less fat version of themselves doing the program and then 90% of the posts are different tweaks to try to break the plateaus. Most of them leading to frustration and multiple plan changes.

That's how I found JUDDD! Atkins wasn't working for me and I was desperately seeking help. Found JUDDD and the rest is history! I adore the idea that, once I'm where I want to be, I can maintain without cutting anything major out of my life. Reese's Peanut Butter Cup? Why, yes, I think I will. Thank you!

Have I mentioned the 4 pieces of toffee I had today, with no guilt? And we're going out for barbecue tonight. No guilt! Yes, I still have to look at the menu to find out what fits my calorie goals, but I can adjust however I want. No points, or restricted foods or food groups, no expensive membership, no required supplements. Just common sense, and low calorie days to offset the high calorie days.

For me, I'm losing weight while occasionally eating a Mini-Reeses (or three). Pretty awesome.

I like to have a little something sweet after dinner and it's been a thorn in my side in the past. Doing VLC, I had to give that up and always felt deprived (or guilty). When not dieting, I would have a bag of Kisses that I would just grab three or four after dinner and be fine with that. My favorite is mini Reeses but I would feel guilty and then decide I had better "eat them up" and get rid of them.

Funny - now that I don't feel guilty about eating them, I'm totally fine with have just few minis after dinner and I don't mow through the bag like there's no tomorrow.

Because there always *IS* tomorrow! Or, the next day.
And I guess I should have mentioned losing with Reese's too. Because I certainly have eaten my share of cups, eggs, trees, pumpkins (and all the other shapes do come in) since starting JUDDD.
My new JUDDD motto: "Losing with Reese's!"

I think it was Adi who mentioned that someone approached her in the grocery aisle and said to watch it or she would get fat (as she selected a pint of ice cream), and she told them she had lost 50 lbs eating ice cream!

That's good, though I might be tempted to punch someone in the nose that did that to me (told me what not to buy because it would make me fat(ter)).

If a stranger said that to me, I'd punch them in the nose. Or at least express my opinion of approaching strangers and offering dietary advice with not nice words and facial expressions, and possibly a hand gesture or two.

But I'm not as nice as those Southerners...
