we are going to the gym again, soon , like after NY

In hopes it will keep us from having another wieght bench in the house.
We are giving our pool table away. It should be used, and not just sit an be pretty.
Hubby said he wants to buy another wt. bench, since we haven't been going to gym. So I thought I'd surprise him with renewing the gym membership.
But he says he still wants the bench at home.
We see
I'd love to start the aquasize again, but my skin hates the pool wAter.
The pool is awesome at toning blubber!
Easy on the knees, just the best exercise.. Getting In the pool in the winter time just seems wrong though.

Oh, I wish I could learn to love swimming. I just don't though. Haven't since I was about 14.

Only get in to cool off. No exercise there.

Quick dip in the pool on a warm day? Sure thing, but thats about the extent of it.

I was on the swim team in high school. I won't say I was any "good," but I like to swim.

I like being in the pool. I call that "swimming". I guess moving through the water using your arms and legs is really the definition of swimming, isn't it? Hmmm....

I had to swim laps as an early team in a swim class I took one summer and I developed these amazing muscles in my thighs and calves. I hated them. I thought they were so ugly, but I'd love to have those now. Don't really want to swim laps though.

Me too Carol. I like taking a few dips under hear and there and that's my form of swimming. I do like the floating loungers too. Sunglasses and a beverage and that's even better. Lol

I adore swimming I used to swim x2 a day for a mile or so at a time because I enjoyed it.

I haven't been able to swim for a while. As the adage says: Swimming is good for backs but no good for bad backs.

However, a friend recently told me about a group of Alexander Technique people who run Swimming Without Stress courses. They specialise in people who are frightened of swimming/water but also work with people who are competent swimmers but need to change/modify stroke technique to work around skeleto-muscular issues. I'm giving some serious thought to booking a course with them as neither my front crawl nor sidestroke work for me (former hurts my shoulders/neck, latter my knees/neck).

I'd hugely enjoy swimming again. Between that and the kayaking I'm a wanna-be water baby

Today we start back at the gym, no pool for me today.

My main thing with the water is my skin, hates the poisons used in the water.
I would go twice a week again. Im hooked on the weightlessness feeling
Wonderful for Ab work, plus having fun In the water.
