This morning I see the eye doctor

After yesterday
of eating few cookies.
This morning post coffee I was in need of food. Weird, I usually don't eat that soon. But was getting yukie stomach.
I ate a wonderful pear we'll see it that helps.
Hope the pear doesn't cause me to want food all morning-grrr.
Could be the anxiousness of the appt. talking.
UU day for me!
Left over chicken and dumplings I think for supper.
But the day is young.

Good news bad news day

My eye problem is hereditary.
Starts showing up about my age, insert blueberry sound
I am to see a specialist soon.
There's no procedure I need done now.
But later down the road a good chance I will have to have donor corneas.
I haven't read about that yet, but even nowadays they have come such a long ways from where they first started doing cornea transplants.......spooky
By the time I may have to have it my gosh maybe I'll just sit down in a chair and abracadabra it will be done!
I have dx is endothel cornea dystrophy.
One eye is worse than the other.

Ok now good news.
My hubby meant me for lunch in town, we never do that, by going to start doing so, on a UD of course.
My new glasses came in Today, trifocals
So I've warn them all afternoon. Practice walking, fun.
Now reading tricky, I'll get use to them in a week or so.

I wanta cry a little bit, but won't help anything.
I am so thankful that we have the resources to take care of my eyes.
My doctor said I will not lose my eyes.
My first thoughts were.
Gota to be a lot of people that have this Disease that are unable to have their eyes cared for and fixed..
Thanks guys for checking on me.

I'm glad it's something that you can get help for, Ei.I know it's sad to have to have anything like that done, but the bright side is that you have the resources, and like you said, technology's come a long way.

Everyone in my family usually has to have cataracts removed around age 60, so if I live that long, I'll be having some eye surgery too.

Terri, well, I am happy that it is something that there is an effective treatment for, and that you won't lose your eyes. And that you will be able to have it done when/if the time comes.

Cindy. IF you live that long? C'mon now! You're going to enjoy a ripe old age.

I have Fuchs' Corneal Dystrophy and was told I would probably need cornea transplants in 20 years. I was told that more than 10 years ago. Fortunately, a decent diet seems to have slowed the progression, so I may be able to put it off longer.

Cornea transplants are no big deal any more. Both my mom and grandpa have had them done in the last year. You have to spend some time where you have to be careful which way you hold your head but it seems to heal quickly. The cool thing is that they can fix your vision (if necessary) at the same time.

My last eye appointment was a couple of years ago. At that time, the doctor said I wasn't showing any swelling at all. This was about a year after losing a bunch of weight on very low carb. At that time, I was primarily eating paleo.

Over the last two years, I haven't eaten very well and have regained the weight I loss plus 11 pounds. My eyesight has definitely gotten worse since then. There are times where I can't really focus with or without glasses. However, I want to JUDDD sometime to see if it helps. Then I'll go back in.

Thanks Nancy.

This is kind of stupid but after the last check up, I kind of forgot about it. However, I have had some times over the last few months when my vision has gotten a little hazy, so it is still there. It should give me some extra incentive to clean things up and lose some weight (with Fuchs', the cornea can't drain any fluid buildup very effectively so the cornea swells. Anything that keeps inflammation and fluid buildup down is a good thing).

Frosty, at my last eye exam, I was told my prescription was too strong. I attribute it to JUDDD. I also see haziness from time to time, though.

I'm so sorry you're both going through eye problems, it must be so scary. It sounds like there are definitely silver linings, though! I'm so happy to hear that!!

With this disease basically the cells that make up our corneas die.
Replacing them is the only cure.
Frothy do u no longer use the eye drops or ointment?
Curious since they've done nothing for me, y should I keep adding salt to my eyes. Sorry that's not question, just thinking.
Frosty I'm so glad ur eyes are better.
When I see the next specialist I will ask him about diet.
My new glasses make the world 3 D, everything is so crisp!
Reading still adjusting.
Thank you frosty, you have helped me feel so much better.
Good luck with you and your familys health!

I was never given any drops for it. I guess it wasn't far enough along to need them yet.

My mom's name was Terry Lynn. I didn't realize it was that common. MIL's middle name is Lynne. Since my mom and his mom were both Lynn(e)s, Keira's middle name is also Lynne.

I'm glad you're feeling better this morning, and that there is treatment available.

My mom's middle name is Lynn and my parents gave the same middle name to my sister. My wife's middle name is also Lynn! To top it off, my wife's mom's maiden name is the same as my last name.

Hmmm....

Terri, I'm glad you are feeling better about it. Really, based on my family's experience, cornea transplants aren't that big of a deal anymore, if it comes to that.

Your post is also a wake up call for me. I need to start taking this more seriously.

I know the face, but
I googled the name.
I remember him I'm almost 58.
He was in a car wreck plus a botched surgeon job caused his eyes to have tat look.
He died at 49 years of age.
Food poison caused a heart attack.
Ok I'm done
