DD Wednesday

Starting us off today.

Shantony 12-11-2013 05:16 AM

Today since I didnt plan anything different I'm going to try to repeat my last DD. I got on the scale this morning and hopped right off it. I am holding alot of water weight after my UD. I wont daily weigh anymore. Weekly is enough.

Sirtain 12-11-2013 05:18 AM

I'm going to be doing water through the day, and home-made turkey broth tonight. Maybe some cabbage stir-fry(making it for the daughters) if I feel like it.

SlowSure 12-11-2013 05:28 AM

I had MCT-boosted coffee this morning.

I need to take an NSAID so I'll have some shirataki noodles in broth for lunch and maybe dinner (as I probably need to repeat the dose).

As I'm in maintenance, I can have up to 700kcals if I need it but I'd rather keep today on the light side as the water temperature is low enough that some of my paddling time might be cancelled and my energy expenditure will be down.

mafiamom 12-11-2013 05:55 AM

gonna make this one count.
my PLAN...
coffee - 60
cup o soup - 45
hard boiled egg - 60
magic pop or two if necessary - 15/30

i would really like to stick to this today.

JMBM 12-11-2013 06:13 AM

Here's to a great DD! Need a good low one since I over indulged yesterday.:o

B: Coffee w/ ff h/h creamer = 20
L: Greek yogurt = 80
D: Cabbage stir fry with onion, squash, and mushrooms tossed in. = :dunno: cals on that

Sirtain what do you use to cook your stir fry? Typically I've used olive or coconut oil, but hate using it due to high calorie content. I know some don't count the coconut oil, but I think I'm one of those who has to. Anyway, if you have any suggestions for cooking it with less calories I'd appreciate the info. I love cabbage stir fry also.:yummy:

adillenal 12-11-2013 06:23 AM

B - coffee with HWC
L - broth
D - HB patty with pickles and cheese

Eieio 12-11-2013 06:29 AM

JMBM 12-11-2013 07:20 AM

I need to ask for a digital scale for Christmas. I think this will help me to keep a better calorie count.

Librarygirl 12-11-2013 07:51 AM

I went and bought some cream yesterday, after hearing how everyone is still drinking it on their down days. I'm already at 150 calories lol, with no food yet.

Nothing the rest of the day, and maybe a salad for dinner. :)

Goner 12-11-2013 08:02 AM

I'm hoping for a GREAT DD today and a new low tomorrow. :aprayer:

had coffee for 20 calories
broth for 5 calories
plan is for 300 calories of protein and that is ALL!

JMBM - technically to stir "fry" one needs fat... but you can do the cabbage in a little chicken broth to cook and pretend it's fried! :) I don't count coconut oil calories - luckily I don't have a problem with it.

Here's to a good DD for everyone! :hugs:

JMBM 12-11-2013 08:14 AM

Yeah I can just have cabbage stir boil instead. lol Although if I use a tsp of coconut oil I probably wont consume the entire tsp because there is always some oil left coating the pan.:dunno:

Sirtain 12-11-2013 08:31 AM

I use the coconut oil, but not very much. 1 teaspoon in my green ceramic pan fries quite a bit of cabbage.

I am back from my first round of shopping. Doing a load of laundry and indoor chores before I go out again. I need to take it in stages for it to stay enjoyable. Otherwise, it turns into an endurance test.

As already mentioned, I used broth as well when I made this recipe.
Funny thing about the cabbage recipe - it was super hard on me! I'm not usually one of those "hypoglycemic" sensitive type people and this recipe shouldn't cause wild BG spikes - I'd use a bag of cabbage, a can of chicken and 1 or 2 wedges of LC cheese. All things I eat separately with no troubles. But mixed in this recipe I would get SO WEAK about 1.5-2 hours later. The first time I made it I was riding when the "woozies" hit me and I needed hubby to help me get off so I didn't fall off! Weird!

B: Coffee w HWC and SF Vanilla Syrup
L: Probably just liquids, maybe more coffee
D: Home-made potato and ham soup (~250 cals)

LoCarbGal 12-11-2013 08:42 AM

Boring food day here, with lots of hot beverages.

B: Hot tea, black coffee
L: Chobani
S: Chobani
D: Salmon patty

Target: 400 cals or under, 56g protein

I'll keep that recipe. It sounds good. I get very hungry trail riding. That's another challenge for me. Not so much this time of year, but spring and summer definitely. LC cheese sounds like a good trail snack. Maybe w/ some crackers. Glad he was there with you.

MaryEllenC 12-11-2013 09:18 AM

Coffee w/h&h and hot tea throughout the morning

2:00pm - Progresso light chicken noodle soup (2 servings)

D: ff greek yogurt and 1/4 c. Fiber One cereal

Aiming for 400 cals

Mary Ellen

Kissa 12-11-2013 09:51 AM

Soya coffee
Mushroom cup o soup
tea
Cabbage with Laughing Cow extra light.

Under 300 for the day :)

JMBM 12-11-2013 09:57 AM

Feeling the hunger now. Drinking some green tea. I have the greek yogurt, but am trying not to have it if possible. I'd like to end the day with cabbage, squash, mushrooms combo.:aprayer:

Shantony 12-11-2013 10:23 AM

I'm cooking a head of cabbage now. That will be all I eat today and measures out to 450 with the seasonings and oil i used to cook it.

I'm a tad bummed. I havent eaten anything yet today but my scale is acting up. I dont know if I can trust it. I changed the battery because this morning I stepped on it and it said 234lbs. I was like YES!

Stepped on it again a few minutes later cuz i was scared the battery was going and it said 242 I was like NO!

I ran out and got a new battery for it and after I changed the battery it said 242, then 239. I'm like grrrrrr....if I weigh a certain weight it should come out the same each time.

So I'm not going to daily weigh. Just weekly weigh. But those rapidly going down numbers was a big motivation on my DD.

Brendajm 12-11-2013 11:24 AM

my DD is good so far.. coffee with CO, eggwhites 70
L- chicken and asparagus 150 and grape tomatoes
D-??? maybe half pepper stuffed with turkey meat
One of my sales Reps brought in Panera bread Danish and it is only 3 feet away from me,,grrrr... so far I have not been tempted.. (too much)

I hope to end up under 500..

itsmeshelly01 12-11-2013 05:25 PM

Tough DD today. Cookie and snack day at work. And our holiday lunch was brought in.
I ate 2 of my healthy ginger cookies i made. 1 very small mini pumpkin muffin. A couple small bites of a cream cheese dish someone brought spread over 1 cracker.
Then for lunch i only ate about 3 bites of chicken, 2 slices of the tomato and half of the broccoli salad.
I went home early. Half day today.
Had DD coleslaw for dinner with the rest of the broccoli salad and the other 2 slices of tomato.
I also made gluc pudding with almond milk and have eaten some of that.

I am probably at about 600 or so?
That is way better than it could have been!!!

JMBM 12-11-2013 05:33 PM

After making calculations looks like I'm finishing at 180.

LiLi914 12-11-2013 05:36 PM

I finished at 90 calories today. I had one rice cake and half a bowl of broccoli.

FrostyBeav 12-11-2013 05:43 PM

B - nothing
L - nothing
D - nothing

:)

I've had an awesome DD so far. I haven't been hungry and have been bursting with energy. Best of all, even though it's 25 and snowing, I haven,t been cold! Usually on a DD, I go straight home from work and huddle under a blanket.

mafiamom 12-11-2013 06:01 PM

ending this DD at 290 calories. not bad considering how STARVING i was all day.

i'll take it.

KeirasMom 12-11-2013 07:38 PM

You all are making me feel like an absolute PIG with my 500-700 calorie DDs.

Shantony 12-11-2013 07:53 PM

I finished at 425 however I dont feel bursting with energy. I just feel normal. Sleep is not going to be a problem tonight. lol

penguinpower 12-11-2013 08:20 PM

Good DD - finished at about 250 calories. I'm going to make tomorrow a MD, so I can switch up my rotation for a party on Sunday, and so Christmas Eve will be an UD (followed by a second UD on Christmas Day). I had good energy most of the day but am kinda pooped now!
