UD/DD Schedule Tweak
 
Hi all,

I have 2 work events next week that fall on DD's (Mon & Wed). There will be lots of food and I know I won't have a successful DD. So I was thinking that in my reading it is better to have 2 UD's in a row then 2 DD's in a row. So is this how you would do it?

Wed - UD
Thurs - DD
Fri - UD
Sat - UD
Sun - DD
Mon - UP
Tues - DD
Wed - UP

Yes, that would definitely work, Lynne. The only other thing people sometimes try is a MD between a DD and a UD in order to change their schedule. If you did that, Friday would be a MD (60% on the JUDDD calculator).

I'd always go for the two UDs option, then continue with EOD rotations asap.
Just try to stay within your UD allowance and all should be fine.

I personally dislike MDs, but a lot of people are able to do them to switch rotations so whatever works for you.

Count me in the anti-MD camp too! Two UDs is what I always wind up doing.

I have tried doing MD's recently because of too many work/family/holiday gatherings, but they always seem to turn into UD's and occassionally UUAD's. I am finding DD's much easier to control...once I start eating, my OFF switch seems to get stuck in the open position! I agree with you Colleen...I wish I could do them!

Thank you all for your advice. I'm going to stick with the two UDs in a row. Just finished my 4th DD in a row and I can't believe how doable it is. I know i can eat tomorrow.

Oops. Meant I have completed 4 DDs. NOT in a row! I could never do that. I get through the DDs because of the following UD :)

If I need to flip, I'd rather do a UD-DD-MD-UD-DD (than an UD-DD-UD-UD-DD
It's easy for me to go from a DD to a MD to an UD since I'm usually not starving hungry on an UD.
The MD pattern gives me 900 fewer calories than the double UD..
(counting 1800 for UD, 900 for MD and 350 for DD)

This is generally how its recommended to be done. By going UD-DD-MD-UD you're heading into that DD fully fueled by the previous UD. As opposed to trying to do UD-MD-DD - that leaves you pretty vulnerable on your DD for the munchies!!

I am personally in the "hard to stop once I start eating" camp so I try to go a whole DD without eating until the evening. So an MD could easily get out of control for me. Having said that, there are several who do MDs with great success.

Love how flexible and forgiving JUDDD can be!!

i just tried to do two DD's in a row. the second DD turned in to a MD, which i typically can not do. i think the trick, for me anyway, is try to do a DD, and let it naturally evolve into a MD. when i go into it thinking MD, it turns into an UD.

i love how you can tweak this woe!
