Anybody else white knuckling it today?
I think I'm in for a rough evening. Im trying to get back on track after the holiday weekend and going as low carb as possible. Still trying to keep within or as close to low day calorie limits as possible. End of turkey weekend collided with TOM which is usually my main time to struggle. I think I will pull some bone broth out of the freezer. I'm probably going to need it or something a little later.

I've had a hungry DD, but still within 500 calories. I don't sweat it if I can't go under that lately. I'll do lower when I'm feeling it. ;) I did just eat a piece of baked chicken on a bed of lettuce w/diced carrots and 2 grape tomatoes with a drizzle of light Ranch. I feel full finally, and satisfied. :) How about some kind of meat w/salad for dinner?

It's only been about an hour since I had two eggs scrambled in a teaspoon of coconut oil. Will try to wait another hour. Considering the salad idea or maybe veg soup. I usually do better on calories with the soup due to the whole dressing issue. I measure and dip my fork instead of pouring...but I love ranch. ;)

I had a packet that was 50 calories. I actually had two packets, but decided to use only one and it was still pretty darn good. Have you tried the calorie-free Walden Farms dressings? I like the honey mustard pretty good, but wouldn't touch it on a UD lol. I left it at work in the fridge, or I'd have used that.

I only tried the ranch and it tasted like chemicals and water to me. Tossed it. But, I have done the laughing cow wedge with ACV and a drop of olive oil before...I can live with that but not my fave. I also made the one I saw on pinterest with cottage cheese and a ranch packet in the food processor. It was really good the first day but the texture gets funky over time. May have to revisit that with only making enough for a day or two at a time. It is really low calorie and tastes great.

Bolthouse Farms has some lovely dressings in the 35-50 calorie range. They taste like regular dressing to me. I particularly like the salsa ranch.

Thanks. Do you get it at a grocery store or online? I don't remember seeing that brand before but I will look into it. The online distraction (this forum) and some others helped. :) Crisis averted, I think.

I like the Walden Farms vinaigrette. The white, sauce-like ones are gross. I've tried Ranch & Blue Cheese - both were no goes. But the raspberry vinaigrette, balsamic, sesame - they're all quite nice...for what they are.

Oh, and to answer the original question: yes, but not because its a DD. I had a rough DD yesterday so I ate WAY too much today. Including at dinner. Now my tummy hurts :(

Krafts Zesty fat free Italian dressing is yummy and only 15 cal/2tbls!

Chop salad veggies up really small. Then toss in a teaspoon or two of regular salad dressing - it will lightly coat the small pieces and give a good flavor (figure 1 teaspoon = 1/6 the calories in a two tablespoon serving).

I'm not sure who you were asking. I've found both Walden Farms and Bolthouse Farms at my local grocery store. The Bolthouse Farms is in the refrigerated dressings section (it's yogurt based) and the Walden Farms are with the diabetic/diet foods.

Thanks, Dawn. It was meant for you. I have seen the Walden Farms but never that Bolthouse. Probably because I haven't really looked at refrigerated dressings. Are they usually in the refrigerated produce area?

KeirasMom 12-03-2013 02:48 PM

Yes. Mine are right where the bagged lettuce/pre-made salads are.

At Wally-world the WF are with the other dressings. Another option for seeking them out.
