I'm good thanks and I can't express how pleased I am to see how good you look and how fine your progress has been.

I'd never meant to disappear. However, we had another neighbour die (so, two widows), and another one who needed support as her husband is in and out of hospital (so, two of those). For the last few months, we were helping out 4 households which ate up a huge amount of time. Two of them have just in the last 10 days sold their houses and are moving to accommodation that suits them better so we should have some more time.

I very much needed to get back here as I've deeply missed the exchanges and support that everyone so generously provides. to you all.

To you too Melinda since I don't have 1/3 the amount of hair I had back then.

SS, it sounds like you have had your hands full. Glad it sounds like things may slow down a bit.

I didn't do the Big Hair thing in the 80s(too oblivious to fashion), but I live near Dallas, so I could still do it now, if I wanted to! Sometimes, I think it would be fun, just to see what I would look like, all decked out like a typical Dallas Soccer Mom (I am more of a Earthmother-Birkenstocks type).

Yes they were. lol I remember also pulling my hair up on the top with that poofy pony tail thingy. In the dog grooming world we call it a top knot. So I guess I was a regular to sport the "top knot". Occasionally would pull it to one side or the other to mix things up. The 80's were almost a costume era to me. Everybody walked around looking like a doll of some sort. ha, ha

Oh yeah I had those too. How about the pumps with lace anklet socks? I didn't do that often, but did on occasion.

Recently?

Hey, you guys how can I find the post that Pam started about my avi? I can see that my face has gotten a lot thinner, and I was wondering how long it's been (and how much less I weigh) lol. I tried to search it, but can't find it.

Did you search for posts made by your username?

I am loving the 80s talk. I graduated in '87 (from hs) so I have those pictures and then got married in 1990 with poofy bang wedding shots, too. Oh my. (still love the 80s, though! it was FUN!)

PS: I saw stirrup pants at stores last year. I do refuse to do that again. (although I sure loved them circa 1990!)

Stirrup pants, lol. I remember a discussion about those...however, they might work well with knee boots.

If I tried searching by my username, I'd have to go through 1000s of posts!

Ohmygosh, all this 80s talk is cracking me up! I was pretty much fashion oblivious in HS, but I definitely had the feathered bangs and long hair all curling toward the back. I guess I was eclectic girl - one day I'd be in my Levis and rock concert shirt, next day in cotton pants with oxford or golf shirt. And the eyeliner melted with a bic lighter and put really thick all the way in and on eyelids. Scary!

I was born without a fashion gene so missed most of the '80s fashion. I did, however, rock a permed mini-mullet for a while though.

I hated giving up the shoulder pads… And yes I did the big hair.

I have more hair since I started taking DE I am sure, grows faster too.

Been busy having yet another clear out of the cellar today. I've been sorting things from when Vicky was here. We left for the West Country the day after she and her DH went back to Oman and only got back to this house on Sunday evening.

Feels good to have another throw out.

oh the MULLET!!!! absolutely amazing that the was in!!

i saw parachute pants in a popular catalog last month. i was like NOOOOOO don't do it! i had the scrunch socks and i would peg my jeans. the eyeliner IN the eye with the shadow to match.i remember that well. nothing like ringing your eyeballs with green eyeliner... GAG!

ohhhh those were the days. i admit - i miss the music. when i hear it, it takes me right back there. i chose to ignore that it is on the "classic" station now...
