WOE: what works for me
Start Date: Sept. 2014
This morning I was sitting in a class and I felt something funny along my inner left thigh - you guessed it - my stretchy pants are beginning to tear. It's not noticible when I'm walking, but I know it's there. Today is an UD for me. As far as decorating - hubby does outside, I do inside. Half way done. We don't put up much due to pets. Looking forward to posting here often.

Gorgeous tree - think we're going to need a tree thread!

Need to do some work - but currently in a 'can't be bothered' mood! Supping a miso soup, with extra chilli, might give me a kickstart!

Very pretty tree... and the idea of a doggy tree is cute... I have done theme trees in the past when I put up more than one - always the traditional tree and then my "fun" trees! This year though, I'm not feeling the spirit just yet.... I have time...

I love a good flea market/thrift store find. The price is usually amazing, and I feel good about recycling clothes, and keeping them from the landfill.

Speaking of which, I think it is time for another shopping 'spree' at the thrift store. Too many of my clothes are getting baggy again. (Not that I am complaining!) That would be a fun thing to do on one of my upcoming Down days. Hmmm, maybe today! I REALLY don't want to start working on those floors again. Taking a break for Thanksgiving broke my drive to continue, I guess.

Love the tree picture. It looks beautiful.

mafiamom - Yup - good Tuesday so far... and LOL Kismet - no, it's not the weekend yet... hope your knee feels better.

We're expecting warmer than usual temps in the northeast - does not feel like December.

We got hit with a storm today. I took my kids to school late because the roads are icy. When my husband left earlier the roads out of our neighborhood were backed up and when he got near the school he could see that a jeep had rolled. Come to find out it was the crossing guards jeep. And he was out there doing his job as if nothing had happened! The principal checked on him and he was fine. Amazing dedication I hope he really is ok. The nicest old guy.

Hi guys

Thought I'd join in!

got our lights done on sunday, even though both DH and I were not feeling great-- we always think it will take longer than it does. And then the cheery lights give us a bit of an emotional boost.

Had 3 UDs in a row (sat, sun, Monday) and am working on having a good DD today. One day at a time, right?

Now I'm feeling motivated to get our indoor tree going today. We have an artificial one, and keep thinking of changing it, but then we get it all set and it's perfect for just the 2 of us. Haka (greyhound) never goes near it, so that's not an issue.

His health is failing-- so that is very much on my mind right now. It's a daily thing, sometimes a bit better, but overall, I know that the end is near. Sorry to be a downer, but I'm trying to process what I'm seeing, and how it makes me feel.
He's also recovering from having a lump removed from the bottom of his paw, and that's proving to be challenging too (like, it started to bleed again yesterday, and it looked a bit like a murder scene in my house )

But, when he's outside, he's happy, so I'm happy. Have to just take it as it comes.

Hope everyone's Tuesday is good! I'm off to do laundry!
S.

Cindy, you always find the most amazing deals! I want to see a picture of these new items. I should clarify.....of you wearing them!

Kismet, sorry about the knee! Take care of it, that's nothing to mess with.

Jbinme, I hope the CG is okay too! That is amazing dedication! Be careful in all that mess.

Soren, oh sweetie, I feel for you. I know that feeling. You watch them and see the signs. You don't know how much time you have left, but that you must enjoy every moment and make them as happy and comfortable as possible. I hope he stabilizes and that you have some good quality time with him left.

My decorating my start tomorrow. I haven't decided yet. I know it will feel great once it's done. I love the idea of a tree/decorations thread! We can all see what each other does and get ideas. My tree is an absolute hodgepodge, but I love it. I always wanted a beautiful, perfect theme tree, but then I feel sad that my long-loved and treasured ornaments wouldn't make their annual appearance. And I am NOT a multi tree person....no no no no! Just not that motivated!

{{{{HUGS}}}} Soren. I know what you are going through. I've lost 3 of my boys this past year, with two of them having to be put down within 4 days of each other.

Love on him and treasure every day.

Soren

I feel like Kismet... is it the weekend yet?

I hate the cold, dark days of the winter- my energy is zapped.

I could totally do without decorating, but I would not do that to DW. I go all out on the tree. I have 2 sets of decorations fuchsia and purple or baby blue and silver. I have all the ornaments, ribbons, bows... ugh...

Went to the neonatologist today... I feel mixed about her thoughts on the matter...

She asked me to explore adoption in addition to considering AI.
I have to go see another doctor about changing some of my medications first and then she will speak with him before she sees me again.

I really felt that she was persuading me against getting pregnant, but DW didn't really take it that way- DW said she just has to be cautious and remind me of all my options... this was not what I was hoping for...

Soren, my babies (the dogs) are getting up there in age as well.

Carly, I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.I guess she wanted you to have as many options as possible to fulfill your desire for a child. My brother and his wife adopted their son, and they were able to go to all the doctor visits with the surrogate and were right there when he was born.

I went out for our department xmas lunch today, and it was delicious. I felt so full and uncomfortable afterward though. I'm not eating anything yet tonight, and might not. I hope I'm well fueled for a DD. I may end up eating something yet though.

hugs carly. is she saying adoption due to age? many people have success using AI in "advanced maternal years". ugh i hate that saying... i guess it's better than "geriatric mother"which is what i was called this time around. geriatric. really???

it's good to keep all options open in your mind, but don't get discouraged about the AI! it can happen.

the weather is unusually warm for this time of year. it smelled of spring today. was extremely confusing. we need a good chill to kill off all the germs, fleas and ticks! time for winter, lets get to it!

my DH is leaving for Germany the 14th of december. he is due home the 21st. i hate that he will be gone for much of the pre holiday festivities

Carly, so sorry that wasn't the news you wanted. I'm sure she's trying to make sure you are thinking about adoption, just in case. The time it takes for an adoption to go through could be a factor. Maybe she wants you thinking it through now, so you'll be ready if AI isn't working. Which it totally still can - don't stop believing that!

Hugs Soren. It's tough when pets get old.

Carly, I'm sure DW is right. Medics can't really give guarantees but all will be well, I'm sure.

I love Christmas decorations. When the kids were little, I really went to town and did all the downstairs rooms and the hallway. DH always arrived with an enormous tree that took till well into the early hours to erect and decorate. It took up half the sitting room!
Nowadays, I don't usually do anything till the last minute. We have different sofas and there's no corner for a tree, so it has to be a tiny one that will sit on the bookshelf.

I must be releasing my Thanksgiving/Birthday/post-ThanksgivingBirthday water gains. Last evening I couldn't believe how many times I had to visit the facilities. And I woke up twice in the night to go - I never get up in the night. It's only 8am and I've already "been" several times. Whoooooosh!

I've been visiting the ladies' room more than usual the last few days too. 2 DDs after my 4 day blowout and I'm back to 146 (from 152.8)! I'd say there was some serious water being stored in this old bod!

Me too! But I've been drinking a TON because I am having problems of the other variety - need to go and can't. I am choosing to still blame that stupid herbal cleanse thing I did because I NEVER had problems before I did that dumb thing. Never, ever again!!!
I had hot, boiling, blended potatoes explode in my face last night, thankfully missing my eyes but I have some lovely burns on my lips, chin, cheek and forehead. I spent the night icing my burns. The only thing that still hurts this morning is my lip but there are some awful looking burns on my face. Awesome!!! Not my finest moment.
So take caution if you're ever blending hot potatoes - vent the lid so it doesn't explode all over!!

Carly, hope things work out as you wish, but you always knew it wasn't going to be simple in your case. I am with Dawn, what will be will be. Sending big hugs to you and DW.

Wo,w Jen that is very, very nasty. I hope you are okay.

Some nice water losses going on, I need that too.

Another cooking day today for me and I'm just about done on the Xmas preparations. Freezer will be full soon.
