To the English JBs. We are blessed with sunny Xmas and decent temperatures. Kissa, Thank God your DD arrived safe and sound.

Spending quite, quality time with my daughter, DH is on call so won't see him until tomorrow sometime. Probably go to the movies and indulge in munchies

Hi gang!
I'm hanging in there...hoping my cold takes that hpturn when you feel better, not worse? Ya, haven't had that yet

Took dh to the airport early this morning, then came home and slept till maybe 1pm. Watched some Sherlock (bbc version) on Netflix with the folks, walked Haka in the frigid cold.
My mailbox is frozen shut!
I'll have to figure that out at some point...saw the mail lady today, but she didn't see me.

Tonight we're ordering Chinese. Tomorrow, I'll opens my SS present and hope to get out and see a movie.
Dh is home on Thursday.

Glad you UK folks are weathering alright... These winter storms that take out the power just really suck. Still hundreds of thousands in Toronto who don't have power still.

Merry Christmas Eve to all, wherever you are, hopefully snug with your loved ones!

S.

I hope everyone's Christmas has been all they hoped for and more.

I feel like a big ol' slug. No one has mentioned my weight loss recently, and I know why. I haven't lost anything in a long time!!I have a longggggg way to go to get slim, and it's time to get serious. Really, really need to lose another 30 lbs at least. Seems like I finally realized that I'm not even close to goal... Ugh, just lamenting my laziness for a minute. Ahem, carry on now.

I am looking forward to my two days of feasting, but this year, I have no fears that it will start a downward spiral. I know my Down Day on Thursday will be just as enjoyable. I'll enjoy my presents, take a nice, relaxing bath, do some slow cleaning up, and plan my left-overs for Friday. Before I know it, my body will be back in the swing of things.

Actually, at this stage in the JUDDD game, I am feeling that two Up Days in a row is not any big deal. It will slow my weight reduction (a little) but it doesn't get me out of the pattern. It's just a little special blip.

Nor do I have any fears of 'maybe I should do TWO Down Days to MAKE UP for it.' No, I know just getting back into the rotations will take care of it. The stress, fear, and extremism is gone. This is one of the best things about JUDDD.

Mercy, I sound a little evangelical. Well, singing to the choir, here, I guess! But there really is more than just weight reduction, to be thankful for with JUDDD.
Encouraging!

Thanks Beverly!

Cindy, let's you and me commit together. We are very close in stats, and I think we can both really get to it in the new year. I'm not expecting much until then. I think I'll only have 2 good DDs before then, and I'm hoping they're good ones, but if not, I know I'll hit it hard after New Year's.

Whad'ya say?

I have a whole person to lose, but I'm really good about starting fresh,so you know I'm in for January. I'd like to use my treadmill too.
I have some downer thoughts going on, but will put those away for the holidays, and focus on what I have in front of me.

I've started coughing, but I'm still sneezing, so I feel my cold is confused.

Maybe tomorrow I'll make my mom her mother's deep dish apple cake...and try not to sneeze in it.

I like thinking ahead to the New Year. I'm turning 30 in March and I'd like to be in onderland by then, but I'm realistic so I just want to get back to strict rotations starting Monday. I love vacation, but being around food constantly is so frustrating and I find myself constantly thinking about food and what I can and can't eat. I don't even think that way on a DD.

Btw, Carly & Carol I absolutely love the new avi's. You both look fantabulous.

Yes, Carol, I'd like that! I do need to make a stronger commitment. Here's to the New Year, and to all of us!

Soren, I hope you feel better soon, hun.

Lisa, with your determination, I feel sure you'll see onederland by March (or soon in 2014)!

Soren and Yennie--(and anyone else who knows), This is a picture of my Jack Russell's leg, right above her left paw. What do you think it is? She's constantly chewing on it, and now limps sometimes. It seems like it happened almost overnight.

Thank you. We've more storms forecast later this week so we'll see what happens. I hope that you had a good time.

Well, those people who haven't seen me for a year (since the last Christmas/New Year season) didn't notice/comment that there's 30lbs less of me, so it's as well that I've reconciled myself to nobody noticing.

That's a good plan for a milestone birthday. And I agree about the new avi's (speaking of which, yours also merits a special mention).

Unrelated to the weather but more the kayaking, my present haul includes what every woman has always craved - a wet suit and a set of water-shedding thermals (in addition to a set of active thermals)

We also have Despicable Me 2 - and my wattle bears a strong resemblance to Dr Nefario's

I'm so sorry about everyone dealing with this awful weather! It is horrible. Our ice finally mostly melted yesterday when the sun came out for awhile and we actually got above freezing.
Cindy, our dog had a place where she was biting at it and scratching and it was getting worse. We had to get a cream from the vet and it cleared it. You may have to take her to the vet or go to a dog store and find some cream to put on it. I hope she gets better soon.

I'm so ready for a DD today. I hate that im so carb sensitive. I ate carbs yesterday but it wasn't even a lot really. Not considering what most people eat and today im all swollen and puffy. I feel like crap. My tummy hurts. It just sucks. I would love to eat normal carbs like other people and not feel this way after. The only sweets we even had yesterday were some chocolate cookies and cheesecake. And the cheesecake was lowcarb!!! A few m & m's and some wine. Its just frustrating.

I'm with you guys on buddying up and really making a major commitment. Im back to normal rotations today.

The other thing about eating more carbs than im used to is that I am already hungry!!
My tummy is growling. I know it has to be the wine and the extra carbs yesterday.

I have to force myself to ignore it and just drink coffee!!!
Off to work. Have a great day everyone!!

I am sooo glad Christmas is over. No more dinner parties. I'm back on rotations too today. I'm hoping the hunger wont be too bad. I ate a dozen cookies in the past two weeks. Plus I ate the carby stuff at supper last night. I know its time to pay the piper but I hope he is kind today.

Yes, I like the new avi pictures for the New Year. You both look great!

Looking forward to my Down Day today. I feel kind of stodgy after yesterday. However, I enjoyed it all very much. So worth the rocketing upward of my weight. I will be interested to see how quickly regular Down Days bring it back down, as I know it is mostly water retention.

I got Dr. Varady's book on Christmas Eve. I will go to the book thread to discuss it in detail, but I wanted to mention that I finished it last night. It is a very quick read.

I'll be recommitting to WLM in the new year. I'm up a bit over my comfort zone and want to get back to my happy place. You can do it Cindy- you know what it takes!

I'm going to try and sneak a DD in today since it may be the last one I can do before the new year. I will abandon it only if it will mess up plans DW has. Otherwise I'm hoping to get a good one in today- I need it!

Good morning JB's. I feel a little hungover from all the carbs lol. I had about a glass and a half of wine, and it was a little glass so I don't think that was a factor. I wanted to be merry, but I couldn't stomach the taste of wine. Strange lol.

I don't think I mentioned LCG and Lili's avi's, although I certainly noticed! Looking beautiful, my friends.

I might do nothing today. That's what my bank account demands anyway, and I don't have the energy to tackle any projects at the moment. Hope everyone has a great post-Christmas day!

DD for sure for me. Trying to get back on rotations. May have to adjust something for new years eve and day. But going to try to at least get a couple of good dd's in. I really need to drink the water today too. I seem to see a real difference on the scales when I drink water faithfully. Have a great day JB's!

Just before Christmas, I discovered a new craft I want to try. Weaving baskets with newspapers. You roll the newspapers into narrow tubes, and they can be dyed or painted, or left plain. Some of the baskets I saw were indistinguishable to the eye from willow or grass-type baskets.

And the materials are cheap- newspapers and glue. I figure even if I don't care for it, I haven't invested the big bucks in buying willow withies, etc.

So, yesterday I rolled up a section of newspaper, and started. This morning, I have a little basket. It was fun enough that I will try it again. We have a free, weekly newspaper that gets delivered on Wednesday, but I don't know if it will arrive this week. But once I have some more newspaper, I'll be off!

Lovely new Avi's for several of our friends!

It sounds as if we have all survived the last few days and now on to New Year's Eve and day. The new year will be here soon and then we can really get back with the program!

I hope the weather gets better in all parts of the world for those who have to travel or have family traveling.

I still have a major party to go to this evening. Tomorrow I can be back on track for a few days! I find that my appetite is just not great these days which is a big help!

I still want to get down a few more pounds though. We take off on a five week cruise in three weeks. We have learned, though, that you really have to pace yourself food wise on these trips. There will always be more at the next meal!

Very cool idea! I can get all the newspapers I want at work, as we recycle all the week's newspapers on Monday's. However, I am not at work and won't be until 1-6-14. Darn!

ETA: It's an idea though for anyone--check your local library or university libraries to see when they recycle their newspapers, and you should probably be able to get as many as you want for free.

Carly, looking very slim and trim!

Can you please tell me how do I look at the AVIs in original as these are pretty small and I can't see as clearly as I'd like. Thanks.

I'm overstuffed with carbs and sweets from the past 2 days yet not ready for a DD today (probably because it's a Boxing Day!) I'll just do a DD tomorrow. I seem to have put on 3+ lbs in a couple of days, I don't know how! So Cindy and let's just hang in there together!

Where are you going on your cruise? Wow! We have never done more than 10 days on a cruise. DH wants to cruise this year, but I'm not so keen on it. We have other travel plans and I would just as soon save the money and pay some bills. He thinks I'm a real buzz kill. lol.

I can see your Avi very clearly. You look beautiful! Love your dress. What a beautiful color.

That 3 pounds will be gone in no time. Two or three down days will do it for sure.

DH asked me if today is a DD for me! That's the first time he has ever done that! so cool!

I actually woke up this morning really looking forward to a good, peaceful DD. So far so good. It's after noon and so far the only calories I've had were from the half and half in my coffee. Gulping down lots of water and staying busy with the clean up from yesterday.

We had our big meal early in the afternoon yesterday and DD and I grazed and drank wine all afternoon. We mostly grazed on leftover mashed potatoes as we agree it's the best food in the world.

I'm very optimistic that January is going to be a great JUDD month for me. I'm going to focus on very low cal DDs and high protein UDs. I'm going to do more cardio. (What do I mean? "More?" ha! I have not been doing any!!) I mean I'll do some cardio. Some is more than none.

I went on Youtube and put in 'newspaper weaving baskets'. Lots of great videos pop up.

Starting fresh in the new year is a great plan. Not so long ago I had a whole person to lose, and I can't even believe I'm where I am now, so you can do it too! Hope you get to feeling better real soon!

Btw, Carly & Carol I absolutely love the new avi's. You both look fantabulous.
Thank you Lisa! I think you can get darn close, if not to Onderland by March. That's an exciting thought!

Oh good! We will do this! I know this last stretch will be slow, but if I'm getting closer to it, I'll be happy. Remind me of that later when I'm moaning about how slow it's happening!

The only sweets we even had yesterday were some chocolate cookies and cheesecake. And the cheesecake was lowcarb!!! A few m & m's and some wine. Its just frustrating.

I'm with you guys on buddying up and really making a major commitment. Im back to normal rotations today.
I'm really feeling the carbs too! Yuck! But so yummy. I'll be glad for a good DD tomorrow.

Thanks Sirtain! I'll look forward to reading your more in depth comments on the book.

That sounds really cool! I'll have to Google it.

Thanks JD! I feel the same about the carbs and while I'm really looking forward to a good, clean DD tomorrow, I'm a little scared of how it's going to feel after 4 "free" days!

I feel the same about January, Yam! I just want to ride this next 35 pounds (more I'm sure now after all the holiday eating) down on a slow and steady ride.

DH just texted me that he's exchanging my Jawbone UP for the right size today! I can't wait to try it out. Hopefully it'll motivate me to move more, especially after the gluttony I've exhibited over the last week.

My fitbit really motivates me- so I think you will like it a lot.

I'm enjoying my DD today. There had really been quite a lot of indulging this month... I think I will have about 8 pounds to lose come January. It's doable and losing holiday/ vacation bloat has been fairly easy in the past with JUDDD.

JUDDD!

I also love you guys new avi's. I forgot to say something earlier.

I am having a good dd so far. It feels to not be thinking about food. This morning was tough but once i just made up my mind that i wasnt going to eat the hunger subsided.

I am so excited!! I found an elliptical on craigslist im going to buy! I am picking it up Saturday. Its a nordictrack. I checked it out online and it was originally over $1200.00!! They only want $250 for it cuz they are moving. I cant wait to get it!!
Then i can just workout right at home in the mornings. I work out now in the mornings but its mostly weightlifting and when i want some good cardio i just do jumping jacks and stuff like that. It will be nice to get some good cardio at home!!!

I'm ready to get this weight off!! January is going to be a great JUDDD month!!

I am only up 7 or 8 pounds in two days. Back to DD today and then controlled UD tomorrow. Got to get myself under control NOW.
