I'm sorry you're having bad weather, Soren. I hope the power stays on too. It's been like summer here the past 2 days, and this morning it's so warm I've just turned on the a/c. I don't know what's going on, but global warming comes to mind.

Kissa, I can just imagine how beautiful everything will be at your house for Christmas. Enjoy your time with your family and all of your delicious cooking!

Soren, I hope that power stays on! What a storm! Some of my Christmas packages may not make it in time due to the weather across the country .

Kissa, how fun to have DD and DSL with you for Christmas!

I've still never made bone broth, and I really need to this winter. It would be a delicious and nutritious help on these cold DDs.

Doing ok here. Power is on. 250000 across the city don't have power and might not into Christmas!

Lots of downed lines... Ours are buried though.

All the stores are sold out of ice melter and salt. Sigh. We bought kitty litter, and dh just dug and chopped away at the ice on the path and driveway. I poured the litter, and Haka was able to walk a bit and get a pee . Not sure what I'll do when he's gone starting the 24th. But, I'll worry about that another day, right? #scarletoharalogic

I have 1,000 photos to sort through so I'll get those up soon.

The cruise was yummy, but I need a fast day ASAP. I'm going to be home for a day which is a DD then driving down to North Carolina on Tuesday so as long as I get one DD in I'll be happy.

Oh and I was so excited to report to everyone that I worked out six out of the seven days on the ship. I'm pretty sure I still gained 10 pounds and I'm not too excited to weigh in, but I am excited that I got myself up to Deck 11 every morning.

Yay on the exercise, Lisa.

The pounds will melt away after the holidays.....no worries with JUDDD!

Glad you had a good time. We love to cruise and have one coming up in January.

Have a safe flight home and a safe drive.

Welcome back, Lisa. So glad you enjoyed your cruise--as if I had any doubts! Congrats on keeping up with the work-outs too. That's awesome.

I did what I've said doesn't work well for me and had breakfast this morning. I was so hungry, and it was so good, but I was over 1200 calories going into dinnertime. Needless to say, it has probably become a UUAD. I stopped counting up the calories because I didn't want to know exactly LOL!

ETA: I calculated, and conservatively estimated 3000 cals.

LG I'm in the same boat! I was good until about 4:00 pm. A friend had brought some sweets yesterday in spite of me telling him not to! I shouldn't have opened the damn box because I can't stop at just 2 or 3 (each one is 50+ Cals). Then there were Latte ice cream bars and bread and butter etc. Carbs called over more carbs! So my UD has become a UUD and no exercise. And it's not even Xmas yet! Hope, tomorrow's DD would be better.

You empirically tested your observation and found it to be true

It's hard not to participate in holiday indulgences when they're offered at every turn.

One thing I'm reasonably confident about - most of us are in lesser shape than we were at this time last year (IYSWIM) and JBs can help to keep us on track.

Cindy and JD, honesty is the best policy, LOL.

My DD became a medium day and there's nothing I can do but own it. Not baaad exactly but not what I had planned. A small chicken sandwich and not one but 2 cappuccinos, (okay they were tiny, but still). Then I had a sweet sherry while decorating the tree. Sort of felt right with the Christmas music playing. But that got the juices flowing so I finished up some potato heavy vegetable soup. So instead of a loss this morning I saw a slight gain.

My daughter with Downs is travelling today and we have a storm that is disrupting train travel. At best she and her DH have I slow journey. I shan't relax until they arrive.

Mine (10, 9 last week, 6 and 6) don't have phones either, because they are always with adults, but it is an uphill battle. Classmates who do have phones are sometimes already the recepients of mean or taunting text messages. The longer we can put that off, the better.

Happy Christmas preparations to everyone.
I love this idea!

Okay, so here's what we did. When Keira was in the shower Saturday morning (before Disneyland), we put her phone and a bracelet in a pretty box and set it on top of the TV in the hotel room. When she was dressed and ready to go, I called the phone so the box would "ring." She didn't hear it at first. When she realized there was music coming from somewhere I told her she had to find it. It went to voicemail, oy! So I had to call it again without her seeing what I was doing. When it started ringing again, she found the box, opened it, and went crazy! She was sooo happy, she didn't even notice the box with the bracelet.

Regarding the money: I swear my child continues to amaze me with her level of maturity and common sense. We had told her she could use $100.00 spread out however she wanted over the two days and two parks. She shopped and shopped and shopped and ended up buying a $20.00 quilted phone pouch (Minnie Mouse!) to protect her phone. She didn't find anything else she really wanted at Disneyland, so she was happy to have $80.00 to spend at Universal Studios. So Sunday, she shopped and shopped and shopped some more and didn't find anything "worthy" of her money. In two full days, she only spent $20.00.

When I was 9, if I had money burning a hole in my pocket, I can guarantee I would have spent it on useless crap, just to spend it.

You are an incredible family Dawn. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

My lovely DD and her DH were delayed by flooding on the line for over 2 hours, but they are here safe and sound now.

Off to our local Italian to celebrate there safe arrival.

Cindy, so glad to hear DD and DSIL got there safe. I know that had to be stressful! How wonderful that they are independent and self sufficient.

Dawn, that kid is just amazing! I'm so glad she loved it and that you guys had a great time.

I will have to join you in the high calorie boat. Better make it a tug-boat! My DD today is no more. I had cake and cookies last night, and felt kind of yuck afterward. They were sooooo good, but I just felt like I was full of flour/sugar sludge last night. This morning started out good, but got real busy and I had to do some last minute running around. Crowds, traffic, time whizzing by too quickly, and I found myself in the Burger King drive through. I NEVER go to BK, but I did today.

So I guess I'll just wind up with 3 UD/Free days in a row. No long-term damage. It'll all come back off in January!

I'm pleased that they made it, Kissa. We're probably not going to be able to see our intended Christmas guests as travel is so chaotic both now and with all of the cancellations because of the forecast storm (many of the trains have been cancelled tonight and will be until mid-day tomorrow, at least).

Ho hum.

I'm sorry all the UK buds and Canadian buds have had such terrible weather

Cindy glad DD and DSIL got to you safe and sound. Will you guys Skype with Vicky?

It is pouring here, but unusually warm. I agree, sadly with LG... probably global warming

Lisa- your avi picture is awesome! I hope you had a fabulous and relaxing time!

Mondays and Wednesdays are my set DDs, but today was a special annual lunch with a friend so no DD today. I may be able to swing one tomorrow, but if DW wants something special for Christmas Eve I may not be able to.

I know January will bring a few weeks of EOD to get back where I want to be weight wise. TOM is here right now so the scale is not being friendly. The awesome part of JUDDD is that I simply don't mind doing EOD. I also suspect that I will be back to 5:2 sooner than I think I will.

I finished the last of my wrapping, but may volunteer to help DW with a few gifts for friends/ family that she should wrap, but it is the holidays so I may be nice...

Just got back from the special grocery shoppping for Christmas at Central market. I LOVE THAT PLACE!! If I won the lottery, that's where I would do all my grocery shopping. As it is, I only go there twice a year, because it is too tempting. I bought eight different cheeses, just as many meat items, pickles of many varieties, and special crackers. Yum!

Now making beef stew and corn bread for my kids' dinners. Then I need to clean the kitchen before making our Christmas dessert.

I am one of the odd ones who can do cooking and food prep on Down Days without cheating. I just enjoy the smells. But I AM looking forward with great delight to all the special foods planned for the next two days. Might go to bed early so that tomorrow will get here sooner!

So glad everyone's loved ones are arriving safely.

Dawn-- your daughter is amazing! Good for her for choosing just what she really wanted and not going crazy just for the pleasure of spending.

Well, post the storm and flooding, the neighbourhood is a mess. No chance our guests will make it through with all of the cancellations (but they have other friends they can stay with).

However, nobody near to us lost a roof or a tree and we've still mostly got our electricity so I can't complain in a full-throated manner.

Baking for the neighbours today so I'll be in and out.

i'm so sorry Slow!!! At least you have the baking for the neighbors to keep you busy!!
I'll keep you in my prayers.

Just a quick hi this morning and to say how much I love that I have come back to JUDDD. I am down another pound after my DD. That makes 6 lbs since last week.

Now to not do too much damage in the next 2 days. Hopefully I have been doing juddd long enough that the gene has kicked in and these 2 days wont be too bad. I know I will be so ready for my DD Thursday.

I wont be on much so Merry Christmas!!!
Off to do a workout and then work for a few hours then some time with family!!

Storm disruption is the pits! Hang in there, SlowSure. I'm glad you (mostly) have power. That's a blessing.

I am looking forward to my two days of feasting, but this year, I have no fears that it will start a downward spiral. I know my Down Day on Thursday will be just as enjoyable. I'll enjoy my presents, take a nice, relaxing bath, do some slow cleaning up, and plan my left-overs for Friday. Before I know it, my body will be back in the swing of things.

Actually, at this stage in the JUDDD game, I am feeling that two Up Days in a row is not any big deal. It will slow my weight reduction (a little) but it doesn't get me out of the pattern. It's just a little special blip.

Nor do I have any fears of 'maybe I should do TWO Down Days to MAKE UP for it.' No, I know just getting back into the rotations will take care of it. The stress, fear, and extremism is gone. This is one of the best things about JUDDD.

Mercy, I sound a little evangelical. Well, singing to the choir, here, I guess! But there really is more than just weight reduction, to be thankful for with JUDDD.

I did the same thing when I was a kid and do it now also. One year for Christmas my husband gave me a $400 gift card to Macy's. It took me until the next December to spend it all! I was just very careful about what I bought LOL When I shopped in July the woman looked at me funny when she saw a gift card with Santa on it

I am so envious of those of you who can loosely stick with rotations, eat over UD calories and still lose. I tried to be one of those people, and it doesn't work for me. So, in the new year, my plan is to stay on plan as much as possible, and stick to my numbers. Otherwise, I'll never get this weight off!!

Lovely post, Sirtain.

Awesome post Sirtain! Couldn't agree more.

Cindy, I love your plan for the new year. I think you've made the plan work for you and the NSV's don't lie even when the stupid scale does.

So I'm in NC. Exhausted and heading to bed for a nap. We stopped at Applebees so I ate one those ridiculous high calorie salads just so I could get to my UD numbers today.

Merry Christmas Eve All!
