I've only had one DD since Friday before Christmas, and I think it was the day after Xmas. I was going to do one yesterday, but didn't. I was extremely hungry overnight and more than once considered getting out of bed to eat, which is unusual for me. I feel like I might not be able to do a DD today either because of the limited amount of calories I had yesterday, but also a little worried about spending a month or more of the new year trying to lose extra weight.

I got off track with all the sugar and goodies at the craft shows I have been doing so I had to rein it in and back to EOD.

Cindy - As long as you stick to your up day calories, you'll probably be ok even without a DD. New Years' is right around the corner.

Yep. I've decided to not worry overly much until after January 1st. The hell with it. Not really, and I've been keeping it safe. I'll be really ready to get serious next week, and I'll be back at work after nearly a month! My neighbors probably wonder if I've been fired.

I looked it up last time Adi mentioned it, and I really want to try some!! I wonder if the canned stuff at the supermarket is any good? Dulce Leche, I think, although I know it is made with cow's milk (after my research, lol).

Cajeta should be outlawed. I start with one gallon of raw goat milk, add 4 cups sugar and a couple of vanilla beans that have been slit and cook for many hours. It cooks down to a beautiful and delicious amber caramel. Makes a great ice cream topping but my favorite way to eat it is with a spoon straight out of the jar. I am sure it has ten million calories per pint. BUT it is soooo good.

I was worried about the sustained weight increase after Christmas, but trusted that it was only water retention because I wasn't overeating, just enjoying salty crisps (potato chips) in the evenings. (DH buys them, despite my protestations, then I eat them! )
Well, I didn't have any last night (I'd eaten them all!).
I did a prolonged scale dance this morning, as I couldn't believe my eyes!
So I guess that's a point proven - thank goodness!
