I WAS WONDERING...

How many people started out on one plan and ended up trying something else, such as JUDDD? and why did you decide to change it up?

I started with Atkins, but it was too restrictive for me. JUDDD is much more flexible and forgiving.

I lost & regained a bunch of times on south beach before I found Juddd. There was no looking back after that! I could never figure maintenance out before Juddd. I'd get too resentful of not being able to eat certain foods "forever" and regain. Now I just wait a day and have some of what I'm craving. (if I'm even still craving it by then)

WOE: Controlled carb, real food
I started (years and years ago) with Protein Power. I maintained for about 5 years, but life, menopause and carb creep started. I just couldn’t face going back to strict LC, so I started EOD dieting (not actually JUDDD because other than reducing calories every other day I don’t follow JUDDD rules). I really don’t want to go back to weighing and counting every mouthful.

I think for all of the reasons that each of you have stated, I am changing up. I don't want to undo all of my progress but I am finding it a bit too restrictive right now and I am definitely seeing some resentment setting in. I think doing JUDDD will allow me the opportunity to be accountable and enjoy some variety without "sinking the ship" if you know what I mean.

Lee, I think you are SO SO SO VERY SMART to recognize the resentment building and make a change NOW. I wish I'd been able to do that one of the many times I got close to goal. It would have been a lot less painful that regaining and having to relose it all again & again. Good for you girl!! You can do it!!

i started out on LC and had success. than i noticed the scale just wasnt moving anymore. i mean like REALLY stuck. so i knew it was time to change it up. i am so glad i stumbled upon JUDDD. it is just so much more flexible and sustainable for me. i love that i can have a few things that were absolutely forbidden with LC and still lose weight! how great is that??

Thank you all for taking the time to respond, it is extremely helpful to know that I am not the only person who decided it was time to make a change and it's OK, lol.

I switched over from LC and didn't look back until recently. I have started to think that LC was really the best way to be eating, yet I have not been successful giving up carbs for more than about 10 days (recently). I will continue to do IF (JUDDD), and probably keep eating carbs and sugar, but in my ideal world, I'd be LC. That is not to say that JUDDD doesn't fit in with ANY diet, and I still believe ADF is a wonderful thing.

I did Atkins in the past, but recently it was just too restrictive. I found Juddd and have never looked back! I lost 80 pounds and lived life. I didn't have to miss out on family meals or sit in restaurants ordering meat with a side of meat. I lost 80 pounds and only dieted every other day! What gets better than that!

I enjoyed Atkins for the duration, I think that's what made it successful for me. But I no longer enjoy being so restricted. I want to be able to enjoy whichever woe I choose for life. I don't think I will ever go back to eating the outrageous amounts of any food that I used to.....but I am definitely looking forward to a simple fruit salad for lunch....without a side order of beef lol

I did the Curves diet many years ago to lose about 40# and it was easy for me because it was working. (Curves is a semi-South Beach/Atkins style plan.) It was easy to give up the stuff that wasn't on plan since I was dropping pounds left & right.
I tried Atkins this time around and just could not get into ketosis. After 3 weeks I'd only lost about 2.5-3# and the restriction was just not worth it since it wasn't working. I was surfing the internet trying to find tips, found the boards, discovered JUDDD and the rest, as they say, is history. I love only having to worry about my diet EOD.

I started years ago with Atkins, and had good success--until I fell off the wagon. I found it became increasingly hard to get back on my program as the years went by.

I gradually switched to low-carb Primal, and felt great on it, but with the same problem of not being able to stick to it long term.

I fell into JUDDD accidentally, because of a heath problem, where I began fasting every other day to relieve some symptoms. Then I read up on JUDDD, and was delighted to hear of the health benefits.

With JUDDD I have reduced my weight the most I have ever been able to, but the best benefit is that it has changed my attitude toward/ability to getting back on track after slips.

I now feel confident that I can use JUDDD to get to a healthy weight and MAINTAIN it through healthy eating with controllable 'slips'. The best of all worlds.

WOE: Atkins 1/27/12 - 54.5 lbs: JUDDD 9/4/12 - 73 lbs
I started doing Atkins about 13 years ago and lost 94 pounds. Then my weight started to creep up slowly and I got tired of the restriction and just gave it up and started eating whatever again. Gained it all back plus more.

Then almost 2 years ago I did Atkins again and lost 54 pounds and stalled out. I think, looking back, that I was just eating too many calories, and probably too much protein, not enough fat. That's when I found JUDDD.

I will love Atkins/LC forever because it works, and my body loves it. I feel great on LC. But I love JUDDD because I can stay LC if I want, I can eat moderate carb (which I do most of the time) or I can eat sugar and grain and starch and still be successful, which I will be doing with abandon during the holiday season coming up! My body doesn't feel the greatest when I do that, but it's only one month a year and I'm not going to deny myself the treats I want anymore!
