Unless you've been eating freely and have just had a good eating day the day before, we always recommend you start with an UD. You want to be sure to go into your DD well fed and nourished!

I agree with LCG there

I started on an UD, so I could get used to food tracking (which I was actually doing before... but this seemed different, calories vs. carbs) and then the first DD was my "second day" of JUDDD.

Some do start on a DD, but only if you've been really eating well before.

I started on a DD, because I figured every day before JUDDD was basically a UD!

Well I'm on active induction and there is NO way I've had 2400 cals! I average about 1200 on Atkins.

I started on a DD, but I didn't know any better. I was doing really low calorie every day, so it wasn't a big difference. However, eating what I like every other day is AMAZING and shedding pounds! What gets better than that.

I just restarted yesterday and did so with a DD. But I'm combining my fasting with LC, so I don't feel that hungry on a DD. I also eat just one meal on a DD, in the evening. It works well for me that way.

On my UD I eat to satisfaction, making sure I am above a certain number of calories and I stay below a certain number for protein and carbs.

I started with DD because 447 cals sounded a LOT less stressful to worry about!
