You can do it Barbo! I don't know why we do it to ourselves, knowing how it makes us feel so "blech", but we do. Onward!

Oh, Barbo I feel for you. I was on horrible carb binge for 10 days. It got so bad that I said screw it and I ate everyday without counting anything. I know how bad it is for my body and yet I still did it.
Just remember there is always a sunshine after the storm. You will get back on track

I just read through this thread even though I'm not doing JUDDD right now. I gave it an attempt again mixing it and LC. My third DD, I came home and wanted to eat. So I said to heck with this and ate, even though it was lc. If this thread would have been going at that time, I would have stuck with it!! I SO want to get back to JUDDD. I'm currently giving Atkins '72 a go. I've had to start it over twice because of not totaling understanding some of it and an unexpected weekend (too many restaurants outings).

Love this thread because even when I was doing JUDDD and would not have a great DD, I always felt like I was standing on the outside looking in because everyone else seemed to be doing so much better than me.

I may be back yet. Fair warning!

I got triggered into a binge last night (which was my DD), because my son was sick.. I had in addition to my 2 whey shakes, 2 bologna sandwiches, hamburger helper, and a twix. =[ All the stuff after the shakes were eaten after 9! UGH

You've done really well so far, Rebecca. One day does not undo all your hard work. JUDDD forgives, so move on to your rotations and relax.

THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL

Today I did induction to get the fires put out from the carb binge.

I almost didn't come back, as I was

All of the above.. For 70 of my 80 years I have been a serious carboholic.
Do I know the program? YES Do I understand about diabetes and keeping
my blood sugar down? YES...Have I understood Atkins program since 1972?
YES.Have I read Bernstein and got myself from 225 and high blood sugar
down to 158? and very good blood sugar readings? YES...Well then why do we do these binges. It's mindless, self defeating, and vicious. If anyone did to
me what I did to my body, I would never speak to them again.

Now having said that, I thank you all for your understanding.
That we have a place to come back to is warming.
I shall post my menu properly in the right place.

Rebecca, it's only one day, hun. I know it sucks but you have the right attitude. Move right along sweetie!

Barbo, I don't understand why we self sabotage, either. Heaven knows I've done my fair share of THAT over and over again. We all always know better. {sigh} You are right, you deserve so much better for yourself! Lots of love and just pick right back up girl!

We had a potluck at work and I decided to play the food taster/critic. Never again. I thought my punishment would be a couple pounds up on the scale which would have been a slap on the wrist compared to the internal symptoms I had to endure. I'm just thankful to be past all the nausea/heart burn/cramps,etc.

We have potlucks at work a lot and I think we will have one before winter vacation (I work at a school). I did not participate in the last 3 potlucks because I figured if I didn't bring a dish then I wouldn't even have to go into the room with the food! Someone brought me a cupcake from the last potluck and I pretended to eat it then threw it away LOLOL I ate cake at one potluck because my friend made it so I KNEW it would be safe. The other stuff who knows who made it?? The Art teacher is always blowing his nose so I'm not eating anything he makes

Yesterday I had way too much food I'm sure. I had a bagel for breakfast and pizza for lunch...999999 servings of carbs!!!!!!!! I also ate candy on the way home in the car. I saw a bunch of wrappers on the seat and thought wait, did I eat all that? I didn't even remember eating it! No more eating in the car!! The only thing I am going to keep in the front seat is water or seltzer. Why bother eating something if you can't even remember eating it?? I've done some dumb things before but that really tops the list

Well... Since Thursday (when my kid became very sick with a virus and a fever that refused to break until TODAY) all my days have been UD or MD... My nerves are shot. Sunday is a standard UD no matter what it actually is, because it's my family's day to eat together. Tomorrow is my actual UD and I've gotten into the routine with the other UD girls... I don't want to switch it. =) So Tuesday is my next DD, but tomorrow I'm not going to eat like a buffalo! =D

WOE: JUDDD Maintenance.

Unhelpfully, I've not once had an UUAD since I re-started JUDDD at the beginning of 2013 so I can't comment about those. That said, I've never had a 'free day' or cheat day. This possibly reflects the ludicrously elaborate control that I keep over what I eat so that I can manage migraines and reverse diet my way to a more substantial food intake.

I'm beginning to have the gnawing sense that in some ways having UUADs or cheat days and knowing that you can deal with the consequences might actually be helpful for when people are in maintenance.

I've been in maintenance for only 9months (approx) so if I was suddenly hit by a ravenous urge to eat I'd probably be quite fearful of it and managing the fall out because I hadn't had the prior experience of experiencing UUADs/free days and knowing that I'd emerge OK on the other side. I'd also be unhelpfully angry with myself if I knocked myself out of migraine management for a while because I'd suddenly started cravings more carbs than I can tolerate.

Dec 2014 A DXA scan reported very low muscle mass (sarcopenia) so I'm still thinking about how to cope with that. I have some joint surgery to schedule. I may miss questions that people ask me or personals. Apologies if I do, it's not intentional.

This thread helped me not because I have an issue with UUAD days (I undereat on my UDs believe it or not), but because I thought I was the only one who must be doing something wrong, therefore not losing weight. I'd have a DD here and there where it ended up being more of a MD, but not really even many of those.

I was going through my subscribed threads and came upon some old ones that helped me, so I thought I'd repost for any newbies who felt less than perfect.
