Good morning. Feeling a bit low this morning...did not do a DD yesterday, did not get to visit my mom this weekend, and just generally feeling depressed. Not the way to start a week. I think I need to find 5HTP, because I believe my hormones are way out of whack. I feel like I'm having PMS every day, and no period since May. Sometimes it's hard to tell if things are not going right in my life, or if I've made things go wrong because of hormonal depression/anxiety. Sorry to vent, and I hate to admit that I'm not doing well--it's probably temporary. Definitely need some kind of supplement pronto.

Sorry you're not feeling on top, Librarygirl. Just keep plugging away, and eventually you will find what is wrong and be able to fix it. "Love yourself, trust your choices!"

I don't know anything about 5HTP, but sometimes depression is best treated with an anti-depressant. Maybe consider seeing your doctor and seeing what he/she thinks.

Thanks guys. I took anti-depressants for 10+ years and trust me, they can be worse than depression. For one thing, that was the beginning of my 70 lb gain. I can't even list all of the side effects that I'd rather not introduce into my body again. I plan on going to the pharmacy today to get 5HTP. Really hate being vulnerable and sharing these kind of things--who does that?! I'm fine, really. I will be soon anyway, lol.

Oh LG, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time right now. I have a child that struggles with depression & anxiety. It is gut wrenching to witness, let alone go through yourself. Were you feeling much better before TOM stopped and now it's worse? It does seem like hormone changes would impact your moods. I know nothing about this 5HTP. Just know we are here for you and you know you can pm me ANY TIME! XO

Good morning peeps! The crazy winds last night blew a power line down at our bus garage/middle school today, so my kids don't have school. What did the teens decide to do? Run out to get a starbucks first thing. LOL (they take after their momma!) So DD & I are hanging out, enjoying this unexpectedly lazy morning!

Kissa, welcome back!! Hope you had a lovely time!

Welcome to new folks I may have missed!

Back to my flooring project. I hope to get all the prep work in our bedroom done, and make a good start(at least three rows) on the planks. Wish me luck...or rather, the ability to get in there, and STAY in there, working!

Welcome back, Kissa!

Flutter, that sounds like a nice surprise--fun day at home w/the kiddos (and Starbucks!).

Sirtain, good luck with your project.

Flutter, I was taking a supplement that really helped, but ran out and thought I could do without. Long story short, I need it.

Ugh! Once I get done with my house, that's IT! I like having it done, and parts of it are satisfying, but I am not really cut out for this kind of work. But...it needs to get done.

The prep work is finished, and I'm taking a walking and lunch break before I start the planks. Hey...PLANKS FOR NOVEMBER! I guess I still am doing them!

Same here, Rebecca. Today was supposed to be a UD, but yesterday was supposed to be a DD. Now my rotations are messed up, and Tday is a DD.

Soooo much to catch up on, can't really do it all!

Well done to those making progress and commiserations to those who are finding it tough. Special hugs to Cindy LG, from Cindy K.

Have been having a really brilliant time with DD and her DH, had a great week in Ireland and they are away for a night now. Will leave on Saturday .

Needless to say rotations and sensible eating went by the board, but Vicky came back from Ireland 3 pounds lighter and I only gained 3 pounds. Put that down to lots of walking helping out the Guinness input.

Enjoying a DD today while getting my life back under control.

Thanks Kissa. So glad to hear that you had a wonderful time with family. I know everyone has hard times and mine are insignificant compared to most.

Was just looking at the calendar, and of course because today is a DD, Thanksgiving and Xmas will be as well. I could fix that, but the week after Thanksgiving is going have two luncheons with staff that also going to be DDs, IF I change rotations to make Tday and Xmas UDs. It's not really an option to do a DD on those staff days either. I guess I'll just do what I have to do, and do rotations when I can.

Great that you can make special gifts for those you appreciate Barbo! I am looking forward to the pictures. I have started painting again this year and am trying to do a portrait of my MIL with one of her grandchildren for a gift. I plan to get a store bought gift as well as back up just incase this is beyond my abilities at this point.
I am sorry about your child being sick Rebecca, hopefully things are going better now. I know all the kid stress can throw me off track as well.
I am thinking of you LG and I hope you are feel better soon. I think you are correct that hormones play a huge part in our moods.
Welcome back Cindy!

Welcome back Cindy/Kissa! I'm so glad you and Vicky and the family had such a wonderful time.

Cindy/LG - I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I know what you mean about not wanting to admit it or to vent, but we're friends here and we need each other when we're feeling like that. So cry on our virtual shoulders all you want. I hope it helps!

Barbo, I can't wait to see the pictures of those earrings!

I feel better today. Thanks, LCG and everyone. Funny how those moods seem like they couldn't ever dissipate at the time...I also bought the suppl. and some ptereo! Too soon to tell if it will help things even out, but I have high hopes. I'm also glad to get some more ptereo. They were out of what I normally buy and said it was discontinued, but had the same thing packaged with other supplements for memory, and I bought it. About twice the cost, but it should last a long time.

Glad you're feeling better, LG!

mafia, thank goodness you found the tick & you're getting some meds!!! My DH has a colleague who's wife is in the last stages of lyme's disease. It's a horrible thing. I'm so glad you found that nasty critter!!!!

Dawn, so sorry about the migraine. Did the nap help?

I didn't have such a great day, either. Had some really nasty lower right sided ab pain this afternoon that 4 motrin didn't seem to help. I was a bit concerned. Thankfully, it seems to have dulled and almost gone away now. (6 hours later) Strange! Anyhoo, here's to a better evening and day tomorrow JBs!

Wow, everyone seems to be having troubles.

Mafia, I sure hope the antiboitic or medicine they gave you helps, and so glad you found that tick in time! Whew!

Dawn, I hope your headache is better now.

Flutter, take care of yourself, GF. If you continue to have that abdomen pain (or if it comes back), maybe you should get it checked out? I hope it's nothing!

Dawn, Melinda, Mafia, I hope you are all feeling better soon.

I went to the gynecologist today. For an annual and to discuss getting pregnant. I see a peri neonatologist on 12/3. I guess there are a number of concerns such as my spine, the medications I take for that, my age and that apparently AI is not as effective as the "traditional" method of becoming pregnant.

Feel a bit discouraged, but I'm putting one foot in front of the other. I will see what the perineoatogist says in a couple weeks.

The nurse also said I am 5'1.5" this is really bothering me for some reason. you don't even want to know the nonsense going on between my ears about that.

I'm sorry everyone is feeling crappy today. I don't know if there's something in the air, but the closer I got to home today on my road trip the sadder I became. I just feel it is time for a change of some sort.

Mafia, I had Lymes all of undergraduate. It's never fully gone away and to this day I have constant fatigue and severe migraines.

I think for most of us, what we're feeling, especially the rough times, affect what we eat. We're just coming off a full moon, maybe there's something to it!

The coolest thing I see is that even when many are having a tough day themselves, you're all so encouraging to everyone here! Please feel great about that!

So glad you are feeling better LG! Was it the 5HTP that worked for you last time, as well? (I apologize in advance for the thread-jack)

Mafiamom-
I have had Lyme Disease 3 times and was on Doxycycline for about 3 out of 5 years total. It is nothing to play with! If you notice ANY symptoms (mine were always stiff fingers and a horrible fatigue) when discontinuing the medication, notify your doctor immediately and insist that they place you back on Doxycycline! As long as I stayed on the medication, my body eventually kicked it each time. Catching it immediately before the bug has time to replicate is essential.

Did you have a target lesion?

Sorry for everyone suffering from pains and the glums. Seems this time of the year brings us all down a bit.

Wow Lyme's is something to deal with early it seems, hope you will be fine Mafia.

Carly I do hope you get more encouraging words from the perineo etc person. I know how much this means to you.

Well I am fine but my beloved DH has gone in for a minor heart 'procedure' this morning. He has had them before and he will be home safe and sound this evening I am sure. But still a concern.

Hoping for a good DD today. Cooking for the family but planning to weigh out my portion very carefully.

I hope everyone is feeling a little better.I feel like I could hibernate in my bed a few more hours, but other than that I'm okay. The suppl. I was taking before was Amoryn. It's only available online and it's main ingredient is 5htp, so I'm trying the more readily available 5htp alone to see if it works (plus it's less expensive).

Cindy, I hope DH's procedure goes well.

Wow, we really are all having a tough time of it! all around!

I can see this morning, which is an improvement, but I still have a low grade headache. I'm hoping to make it through the work day, as I have no more sick time. I almost never take sick time, but I used mine all up when my dad was in the hospital earlier this year. Grr.

Lyme disease is scary stuff. Please keep us posted!

Carly, I think (hope) it'll work out well and easily for you. BFF and her baby are doing FANTASTIC and AI took the first time, so don't despair. It may not be the easiest route, but it CAN work!

Melinda, please keep on eye on that abdominal pain. It could be any number of things, or hopefully, just a passing nuisance.

Cindy (Kissa), all good thoughts going out for your DH's procedure.

Full moon, changing seasons, whatever the case may be, I hope we all have a better rest of the month!
