WOE: Back to JUDDD!
I just got word that my "second mom" passed away yesterday. I went to visit her last weekend and I'm so glad I got that chance to spend some time with her and let her know she was important to me. Her daughter used to be one of my best friends but we rarely speak anymore. Her sister is the one who told me it was getting close (3 weeks to 6 months was the prognosis, so she went FAST!). I'm at peace, and I'm sure it's because I got to see her.

Please hold your loved ones close and let them know how you feel about them.

So good that you took the opportunity to see her. I'm sure it meant a lot to her, and I know you will always be glad.

Strangely, I really enjoy going grocery shopping and doing food prep on my Down Days. And it doesn't seem to make me want food more than usual.

Omg, I'm about to hurl. While I was browsing the forum and making chit chat here, my cat has brought in a live (bird, I think) animal and killed it and is eating it in the kitchen. Bf has gone out and is bringing home lunch. I had to shield my eyes to grab my phone off of the counter, to tell him to hurry home and help. Damn that pet door!

Rebecca- congrats on your new low!

Dawn - that is wonderful you got to see her and feel at peace.

Library Girl - aren't cats just precious? So glad mine is strictly an indoor cat cause I know he'd be a killing machine if he got outside!

I'm having a day today. Woke up with a killer headache that doesn't want to go away and generally feeling "blah". Plus, my elderly MIL lives with us due to health reasons and while we get along well 99% of the time, today she is in a mood and I just don't have any patience for her passive-aggressive BS. She's ticked at her daughter (who calls but never comes to visit and makes promises she never keeps) so guess who gets the brunt of it? She did apologize to me a bit later and I told her how it made me feel, but the bottom line is this is just a little Band-Aid on the situation and then next week or month something else will set her off and I'll have to deal with it. I so miss having my house to myself! DH and I have no children so I was used to having a good deal of "alone" time at home and I miss that. Somedays after work I just don't want to have to deal with anyone else and their issues...KWIM??

that sounds pretty rough. And a headache to boot.
I had a terrible headache last night and got in bed around 7pm.

I hope you feel better on all counts soon.

Mary Ellen - I'm with you on that "alone time" and I'm sure you're dealing well with having the home invaded by the MIL. It's just the headache that's making today difficult...it'll get better soon.

Rebecca- Don't you love this woe? It makes it so much easier than anything else I've found...there's a bunch of us holding the gate open to onederland and waiting to welcome you with open arms.

Dawn - hugs to you and you're so right that seeing her not long ago made it easier for you.

Have I ever said "I love this woe?"...I know, I know, over and over again but I have to say it again I love this way of eating. I've been trying to get into the next decade this month and not having too much luck getting there but I think you know why...my DD's are not too down, but staying with expanded goal...anyway, I bought a couple pairs of those pajama jeans that were advertised so much on TV. Well, I didn't buy those, I got 'em from a cheaper source. October '12 they were my goal pants and when I tried 'em on last month they were still a little tight across the beam.

I put them on today to see how I'm doing and.....they fit and are not too far from being a little loose (I'm developing an "old lady's butt) and most jeans are baggy. Now, I've not lost weight since last month, but I must be losing inches. Can't wait to measure myself as I do it only at the beginning of the month.

So I've got to say....don't give up on this woe...it works even if you fudge the plan...

My rear end is rather fluffy. Those pajama jeans sound sooo comfy!

The animal was a bird. A cardinal. Bf cleaned it all up, including the kitchen rug, which is now trash. Flurry ate his "prize" all but the skull, then fell asleep on top of the balled up kitchen rug. I do feed him well.

Thanks, Carly, I hope you know that you are one of my heroes..trying to follow you. Oh, BTW, one of the things that I am doing is not eating until way afternoon...giving 16 to 17 hours between my UD supper and breaking my fast. I do believe that is helping keep the SIRTs high. So my DD calories may be running 6-700, I think I'm getting the best out of 'em. I seem to be okay as long as I wait to eat. Oh, that's also true on my UD's...I'm eating breakfast as I type.

Cindy, fluffy bottom . I think we sometimes forget our fur kids are predators. I used to have a cat that would bring me live mice...of course, she'd put them where she had her meals and most would get away before I found them...I was always fighting rodents when we lived there.

Yes, Mary, we do forget the wild instinct especially still prevalent in cats. Thankfully, the kills they bring inside are few and far between. It's been at least a year. I don't think Flurry has ever brought anything inside. It's usually his mother, Chit Chat, but even she has mellowed.

I have been enjoying my UD, and having a nice glass of zinfandel right now. I am taking vacation this coming week, since we are off Thurs. and Fri. it wasn't but three days annual leave. Soon, I will be off for the rest of the year! We are having our HVAC system replaced (after 40 years!), and it will require being closed an additional 10 days over the xmas holidays. We normally get 8-9 days anyway, so it will be a long holiday. No plans yet, but I have time to plan some leisurely time for sure! I only hope I can stick to rotations, which are hard for me when I'm not working.

Mary Ellen - so sorry about the headache and the MIL situation. My alone time is very important to me too. I hope things are getting better for you by now.

Mary - great on the loose pajama jeans! Woooo! You really are a great example of carrying on, and even when the pounds aren't leaving, the inches sure are!

I'm like Cindy, my butt is NOT flat. Fluffy about says it all! I used to wish it was flat, but now I'd really just like it to be well shaped and proportionate.

Cindy, I think that zinfandel is well-deserved after that cat-vs-bird fiasco. Yech! How great to have an extended time off around the holidays! That sounds just wonderful.

So glad you could visit second mom!

Some of us are so blessed to have a chance with a second mom.
I did and she was a blessing to my life. Had her for 15 years and am
so grateful for that. You never know but that you will be a second mom
to someone.

Bad headache go away and stay away!

Everyone have a wonderful dd or ud...

I'm hanging in there and looking forward to a chicken curry with
miracle rice for my dinner.

I can't imagine what I would do. Although my dogs have rolled in some pretty rancid stuff in the past. nasty! At least he stayed in the kitchen with it.....

I did the same thing yesterday, The weekend is going to prove to be a challenge. So next weekend I will be prepared, but i want Turkey day to be an UD as well - so today I will have my normal cals but taper off more towards the evening that way I don't wake up feeling like I need something and get nauseous during the day, I also made some veggies soup for all day tomorrow. I love being able to eat what I want on UD, I just need to keep my goal in mind on my DD......
GOAL: PUNTA CANA JULY 27th - my Bday. We are going for a week.

Dawn, sorry for your loss. It was indeed a blessing that you got one last visit. So comforting.

Mary Ellen - I know just how you feel, my mother lived with DH and I for 7 years. It is tough. I hope you have someone to talk to - it does help.

My rotations are a mess with my b'day celebration over two days - today needs to be a DD - but that leads to a DD for Thursday. Just have to decide how/when to change to a MD... but who am I to complain when people want to take me out to eat to celebrate?

I'm trying to psych myself up for a Bridesmaid meeting in a few hours. The Bride is being a real pain so having to drive over an hour to plan a Bridal Shower for a person who is making me crazy right now is not high on my list of priorities. Plus the MOH who had a baby in May and hates the words diet and exercise will talk about how fat she is and how she is leary of wearing a pink bridesmaid dress for at least 15 minutes straight. I am telling all of you right now after 11 weddings this is most certainly my last one. If the first one was like this I would have saved myself a whole bunch of money. :-/
