Better than chicken bouillon question

I usually stew a chicken and use the broth to make my tortilla soup. Is using the better than bouillon to make the broth better calories wise?

Better that bouillon has 15 calories per tsp. I use half a tsp for a full mug. I don't know what the calories are in your chicken broth. BTB is always ready and easy to keep a small container in the work fridge for the DD shivers.

The Food Renegade site points out that Better Than Bouillon contains sugar and corn syrup solids as well as some other not so good stuff. I use Kitchen Basics stock which doesn't have a lot of weird additives and chemicals. And they offer a salt free version which I like.

your broth from a stewed chicken will have a lot more fat than something like Better tha Bouillon. most of the fat is right under the skin and a lot comes out in the broth. if you do the whole thing refrigerating it and carefully removing the solid fat from the top, they may be more comparable.

I guess you could guesstimate that it will be about 15-20 calories a cup, if you use BTB in your broth with the chicken.

The DD shivers are common to most of us who are JUDDDing. You experience coldness and (shivering) due to extremely low calories.
