Leashy is AWAKE!!
I don't know if any of you have been following Leashy's story in the playground, but she's awake!! It's going to be a long, hard road from here, but it's amazing that she's alive. I'm so excited I could burst!!

Here's the link for those that may have missed it: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/be...s-prayers.html

Wow. A true miracle! I only read the last couple pages of the thread and I don't know her, but I'm still sitting here with tears in my eyes. God is good!

Wow! I don't usually go to the Playground and was completely unaware of this. So scary but how wonderful that she is responding. :aprayer:

I live here in Judddville and rarely go elsewhere so I don't know who Leashy is. Apparently she was quite ill and is doing better? I will say some prayers.

A few months ago, she discovered she had CHF (Congestive Heart Failure). She's only 35. She posted a thread there and then that we should all get checked for any minor ailments because you never know--it could be something serious. She really urged people to take care of themselves NOW, before it gets too late.

She was being treated for her CHF and it seemed she was doing well. Then a bit more than a week ago, she had a massive heart attack in bed and has been in a coma since. The doctors told her family that they've never seen anyone come back after this long, in the condition she was in. They were arranging to bring her home with hospice care. They hadn't completely given up hope, but it was really bleak. Then, this morning, she woke up! She's been nodding appropriately, laughing, crossing her legs, etc. She was intubated for quite some time and just had a tracheotomy a couple of days ago, so I imagine she's not able to talk just yet.

There's a FB group that some of the PGers put together for her, called Love for Leashy. The outpouring of support has been amazing, from her family, but equally from all the "strangers" here at LCF. It's been a beautiful thing to be a part of, no matter how remotely, and I'm so happy she's awake. No word yet on her long term prognosis or if there's brain damage and if so, to what extent. But she's alive, awake, and her son and husband have not lost their mom/wife!!

I just went to find her original post from the summer. Very happy to hear the recent update but boy, what a year she's been through. I can't begin to imagine all her family & friends have been going through.

I never leave JUDDDville either, but it sounds like prayers have been answered.

Yes, it is an amazing miracle

I recently so the post about Leashy's condition. I'm so glad she's awake. I know it will be a long recovery, but with so much support she will pull through.

I followed the link and was crying by the time it got to your news, Dawn. I truly hope that she recovers from this and goes on to live a full life.:aprayer::heart:
