starting first DD today

I am actually a little nervous (eye roll smilie??) which is so silly....

i am sure this differs for everyone, but how do you usually spread out your 500 calories? do you eat regular type meals, snack a bit all day or eat the majority at one time (breakfast or dinner)? i am an evening snacker so i really have to make sure i am involved in something that requires using my hands tonight cleaning out my closet should do the trick!

oh and my starting weight is 137. goal is 120.

Enjoy your first DD! We all do it differently. Many prefer holding off as long as possible. When I was in WLM, I would just have black coffee for breakfast, then a small lunch and a small dinner. Others fast completely until dinner, and then others spread their food out throughout the day. Now that I'm in maintenance, I usually have a protein bar for breakfast, a small lunch and small dinner.

You also need to figure out if you do better with mainly protein, mainly fat, mainly bulk, or a combination. I personally do best with some bulky veggies and a protein.

I TRY to fast all day until dinner, but if I get hungry through the day, I try and just drink some hot broth - it can usually calm my belly rumbles. Drink plenty of water!

Eating something spicy gives me a more satisfied feeling than anything else - so if I am absolutely desperate - I'll eat a small bag of Capp's Hot fries LOL! It's the only thing in the Vending machine that's under $1 and 110 cals.

Ooh, I forgot my go-to when I first started JUDDD was Wyler's chicken or beef buillon (5 calories) with a sliced Serrano chili (2 calories). Spicy, warm, comforting goodness that would ALWAYS fill me up for 7 calories!

I usually have a huge mug of coffee with 1 oz of HWC for 100 calories in the late morning or early afternoon. I've never been a big breakfast eater, so that works really well for me. I don't tend to get uncontrollably hungry until later. I like to save the rest of my calories for a small dinner. If I can stretch it out and have dinner around 7pm, I'm usually good for the rest of the evening.

Iced tea is my saving grace for keeping the hungries away!

I'm still pretty new but DD's really do get easier. You can do it! I try to knit or catch up on reading at night, I was a night snacker too. For a few DD's I tried the eating a little something every hour ( mini meals) and it got me through some rough spots. Now I don't seem to need those frequent meals.

thanks all! i am currently on my third bottle of water, had lipton cup of soup for lunch (45 cals) and had coffee with HWC for breakfast - 100 cals.

VERY VERY hungry right now. thinking of warming up two mini quiches for a total of 60 cals.
