Stalled on JUDDD?

Hello, hoping I can get some help here for my mom. She has been on JUDDD probably around 3 months, and has lost about 16 lb. She has been at 160-161 for the past month... is this considered a stall? (One month) She is very frustrated and she states that her clothes are not fitting (falling off)! I told her to just measure by how she looks/feels but she wants to be in the 150's - even 159

I told her maybe she should measure... she looks smaller!!! I am telling her all this. She wants the scale to go down! She doesn't have a scale at home so she only weighs at the doctors and at my house, so not very often (at the most, once a week, usually less).

My only other advice to her would be to possibly lower her DD calories. I'm not sure she can though. Or possibly adding in ptero because I started it, and it really helps me keep my DD low.

She is 52 yo, 5'6", and 160 lb. Any advice? TIA.

Oh forgot to say her DD are 500 tops, usually 420-450. And her UD are around 1,600 - she sometimes has a hard time eating on UD, and sometimes goes a bit over... (don't we all?) She says "I am doing something wrong, what can I do?" I think she needs to be patient and enjoy her new body for now!

I get 1702/340 for her numbers. She could try that. She may not be eating enough on UDs if she's staying at 1600 or so. Also, if she hasn't measured, there's no way to say if it's a stall or not. She also very well could have entered the 150s without knowing it since she doesn't weigh often and can't control the timing and level of clothing involved.

I know that I didn't lose for about a month and a half, but definitely lost inches and was wearing smaller clothes during that time. She's losing, just not on the scale.

I most certainly commiserate with her in wanting the scale to show the changes. It was making me CRAZY waiting for the losses to start again. Even when I realized I was getting smaller. In the grand scheme of things, I think we would all choose to look/be smaller vs see scale numbers, but when the scale is not moving, it does something to your head.

Please tell her to hang in there and the scale WILL start dropping again. In the meantime, like you said, enjoy her new body and new size!

16 lbs in 3 months is really good! I guess she lost 16 lbs in two months, if she hasn't lost in a month. Wow, just tell her it's catching up now, and losses will probably average 4-5 lbs a month. She's doing great!

i stalled for almost 3 months once on JUDDD, but my hip measurement showed a loss. i usually lost around 4 lbs/month, so it was quite discouraging. i broke my stall after giving up sugar free gum, and poof! 15 lbs. came off within 10 days. maybe it was a coincidence. maybe not. i won't touch gum again!

she may lose in chunks, like i do. if she's following JUDDD fairly strictly, it will come off. i'm 52, and if it will work for me, it'll work for practically anyone.

Time to take out the measuring tape!
The scale definitely doesn't tell the entire story!
And maybe it's time to mixed things up a bit. I think our bodies can easily get accustomed to things, so sometimes we need to throw it a curve ball.

Also, if she's working out, she could still be losing, but retaining some water from muscle repair. It could be anything!

She's down another size (size 8) in pants. We went shopping this weekend and she was like "why is the scale not showing it, but my pants are falling off of me?!"

She did an extra UD (like 3 in a row) and hoped it would shake things up LOL and she thinks it worked. Hey whatever works.

I also emailed her the thread I saw recently about why your body needs a break (must admit, I didn't read it all myself..).

I haven't lost any weight at all and been on it a couple weeks now. So I don't know but I would definitely guess that a month would be a stall. Maybe she can try adjusting her UD/DD calories a bit?

But if she is measuring smaller that is always a good thing! Wish I could say I was measuring smaller but not the case.
