Thanks Barbo! Yes, yesterday was an epic fail. Taters for lunch today and going strong. Hopefully this will help my hormone-y mood. Ugh.

Thanks poot! Wednesday, made it all the way through, taters only. Today, so far so good! If I can do 3 full days, I will be happy.

Subbing! I saw the DD hack was closed and almost panicked!

I love reading about the successes...hopefully one day soon I will be a success, too.

Yesterday, I made it through with no issues. Going strong today and planning to go until dinner tomorrow. So that will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and half of Saturday--4 1/2 days out of six . I'm interested to see what the scale looks like tomorrow. Not really hoping for much but theoretically I could have dropped a pound or two... In any case this is less about the weight loss and more about the carb desensitizing. Seriously!

I DID make a super yummy thing for dinner last night. I took about 4 good sized cold boiled reds from the fridge and sliced them up in a bowl. I added about 2T of salsa, two chopped green onions and ~2T of Bolthouse ranch dressing (2T = 3g of fat). Tossed with S&P. Very nice change.

Whoop whoop. Made it through day 3 of all taters. Note to self: ALWAYS pack lunch, even if the intention is to eat out. Ya never know when a container of taters will come in handy...

It was super duper yummy on the taters! Usually I just eat them pretty plain but such a nice change...

On my weigh-in Saturday, I had lost 1.1 pounds from previous Saturday weigh-in (152.7). The whole point of this hack, as mentioned though, is to see how my body reacts to some carbs included this week in various birthday celebrations and this upcoming weekend wine tasting. In any case, I'm off hacking for a week and may give it another go next month when I figure out BF's out of town schedule. Not that he minds me eating taters--it's just easier to do when there isn't other yummy food around.

Yay Shelby! That's awesome work!!!

So I decided to start hacking yesterday after a very tense UUAW weekend! I was unrepentant and determined to take a holiday from dieting, food rations, etc and also drank. As a result I was up a whopping 11 lbs. Yes, you heard me. 11 pounds in one 3 day weekend. OMG.

So the plan is to hack through Friday and get down as much as possible, then Saturday resume the low carb phase to see what happens. I'm still doing UD/DD rotations.

As you all know I am a daily obsessed weigher. I'm down 6lbs from fluid and poopies (yes, it's your poopy report). Today is a UD and I've already had 21oz of potatoes from mid-morning on (about 499cals and 100g carbs) to 3pm. Just finished a huge 14oz potato lunch. Dang was it Ouis or Peggy who came up with the nuking the taters in a little chicken broth with seasoning? So good! Who knew? So now I'm stuffed, and tonight will be plain baked taters with salt and hot pepper vinegar. Will report back in la manana!

Good luck pooticus! I hope the hack drops those pounds off. I DO think it is great for dropping water weight. Keep us posted.

Shelby I too think it's the bomb at dropping quick water weight!!! Then usually getting back into ketosis is good for another 3-4lbs...will keep you updated.

The last time I did it, I was in ketosis already and I did 5 days without losing a pound. So I don't know that it works for me to do anything other than water weight...but who knows? I wasn't doing "strict" PHing. I'd add a bit of ff sour cream, a little scq...a cucumber...so that may have been the dealio...we'll see!

Well, I'm back from my mini-vacay in the Missouri and Arkansas Ozarks. Leaf color is started, but not in full swing just yet. But it was pretty colorful compared to even northern Texas right now. Very relaxing. First real vacay for me since my Dad died 8 years ago. Been so, so busy helping my mother with her dementia progression.

The down side, I gained 2# over the 6 days...but that's not bad, considering I didn't watch what I ate AT ALL. I ate biscuits at breakie; chips with my sandwiches at lunch, dessert, and pretty much whatever. I tell ya, my body is just a happy camper at 170. That seems to work both against me, and for me, it would appear.

But back to my potato hacking tomorrow. Would like to get on back into the 160's ASAP. My new start point is 175 according to the scale this morning. Here we go again. Not sure how long I'll do my hack, but probably until it seems to stop dropping my weight on the scale or clothes stop getting loser. That'll probably be 5 days max.

So glad you had fun Peggy and glad you're back!!! You will have the 5lbs back off quickly!!! Then no doubt you will be in the 160s before you realize it! Your trip sounds just lovely (and yummy too)!

I ate a ton yesterday! OMG. LOL. I won't tell you how many ounces of potatoes I ate! But this morning I'm still at the same as yesterday. No bounce up. Interesting right? I just had a 4.8oz tater (re-warmed slightly with course grained Dijon spread on it--lovely) for my afternoon snack. That leaves me 14oz of potatoes for dinner! I think that will fill me up or at least hope it will. That takes me to right at 500cals for the day. Yippee!

Yay! A couple more hackers! Good luck P & p. I'm off to San Fran this weekend for wine tasting and I'm sure some eating! Next BF break is the week of 11/4 so I'll probably hack as much as I can that week. Totally digging the green onion, salsa, Bolthouse ranch combo on my taters and with that tool in my kit, I think I will be in better shape to resist the evening temptations.

Thanks, Shelby. I began "inching my way back to hacking" tonight with a big old tater for my evening meal, with just salt and pepper, but I put 1 tsp. butter on each peeling half. Starting tomorrow, no more butter/oils. Must go to the store and lay in some green onions though. I really like them chopped fine on my salt and peppered taters.

Welcome back Peggy

So lovely that you actually had a real vacation.

I know how you feel about the 170's...I weigh 157 and that is really
162 fully clothed at the doctors office after breakfast and coffee.

I was years at 175 and just couldn't break the back of that number.
Now we are working to get to 150 by Christmas but I cannot break my
own slow turtle heart. So what will be, will be
I am talking years not months or weeks or one year. Breaking out of
225 to get into Onederland was the easiest part.

Sooo what's the deal eh? Just keep working on it. One day you will say Until then enjoy yourself anyway.

You GO girl! That's an incredible loss in so few days. It was probably mostly water retention.

Yeah, that's what I figured, too. No way can you gain 11lbs in 3 days of fat. I don't eat that much anymore! I just ate more than usual and had more carbs plus some wine. Instant recipe for disaster as I believe I've illustrated lol! But the PH has made it come off much quicker than it does doing straight LC JUDDD.

Good Morning ladies. Here's my progress:

Day 1: 175
Day 2: 175
Day 3: 174

Not exactly breakneck speed this time, but wasn't doing it 100% on Day 1. Now I am. Onward and downward.

Day 4, bounced back up to 175. I think I'm going to give up on this potato hacking. It's just not worked the last 3 times I've tried it. It only worked for me the first couple times, I think, because it was something new. EVERY new thing I try does that in the beginning, even JUDDD, but my body manages to settle back up to its comfort zone of 170 every time. I'm going to go back to basic low-carb but Induction levels of 20 net carbs per day, meat, eggs, good oils and veggies only. If I can't lose anymore, then so be it. Four years of this stagnating at 170-ish is really getting old, but sometimes you've just got to accept the inevitable. I'm firmly convinced the only way I'll ever lose is to stop eating altogether.

Thanks, my friend. I guess I just need to be proud of that fact and move on with the rest of my life, at 170 if that's all I can achieve. I'm starting a journal at LCF in that forum to log my "new journey" on Induction. I'm down 2# just after 1 day of re-Induction, but I'm not going to get my hopes up anymore. Too demoralizing to always bounce right back up to 170. :{

If you can, post a link to your journal, I'd be happy to come by and offer support.

That is great! I haven't been able to talk myself into a potato hack yet but will someday soon.
