10/05 - County fair--lots of walking to counteract lots of eating!

10/08 - forced rest day--having some back pain
10/09 - Back is still hurting, will have to see how it feels after work and Chiro10/10 - Nada

10/12 - Disneyland - tons of walking

Hi ladies ...would like to join,used to exercise everyday until 2 year ago,i just stop...for no reason ...got to get back into it...gain weight,started smoking and eating crappy,it's got to stop ...being thanksgiving i've got a lot to be thankfull,i've got to start taking better care of myself to be able to be around for a long time for my kids and grandkids...

Thanks for accepting me into your group..

Start Date: 2/21/12- Low carb (199lbs) 3/28/12 JUDDD (189lbs)
10/2- 1/2 hour walk- 1.5 miles- headache today
10/6- running on elliptical 2.6 miles in 17:20. Slow and easy today- back is killing me.
10/11- running on the elliptical 2.2 miles 14:20 minutes. Still slow, but I got steroid injections in my neck today- hoping to feel much better soon.
10/12- 1/2 hour walk. Running on elliptical 2.5 miles 15:00 minutes. Another 30 minute walk. 12 flights of stairs climbed.
10/13- 45 minute walk.
10/14- 1 hour walk- 2.5 miles.

I ordered a stationary bike that should arrive sometime today. I'm excited because I want to use it for HIIT and see if I can really get some good burn. I'm not giving up on hula hoop though. I love it so!

Thanks! I guess it is just a habit now, and actually fun and enjoyable. I keep making gains and getting stronger so I'm making progress each week which is good. Plus it's a good chance to spend a little time with myself and forget about work and everything else for an hour a day. On rest days I actually miss working out, especially if it is a forced rest day because of some other obligation that prevents me from going, especially if that obligation is work.

Also it has been amazing to see the transformation by body has gone through over the past 2 years and now I just want to see how far I can go, which is a great motivator.

Start Date: 2/21/12- Low carb (199lbs) 3/28/12 JUDDD (189lbs)
10/2- 1/2 hour walk- 1.5 miles- headache today
10/6- running on elliptical 2.6 miles in 17:20. Slow and easy today- back is killing me.
10/11- running on the elliptical 2.2 miles 14:20 minutes. Still slow, but I got steroid injections in my neck today- hoping to feel much better soon.
10/12- 1/2 hour walk. Running on elliptical 2.5 miles 15:00 minutes. Another 30 minute walk. 12 flights of stairs climbed.
10/13- 45 minute walk.
10/14- 1 hour walk- 2.5 miles.
10/15- 1 hour walk- 3 miles.
10/16- 1 hour walk- 3 miles.
10/17- 1.5 miles running on elliptical- 9:09 minutes- first mile 6:06 minutes.

Just try to do something each day. When I first started I only walked about 2 miles a day, and it was a fairly slow walking speed, and I just gradually increased the distance over several months as I lost weight and it became easier. Also I only did strength training then once a week with a trainer. I've kind of flipped that ratio around now, strength training 5 times a week and maybe walking/running once a week.

Sometimes I didn't feel like walking, but once I was out doing it I felt better and I was glad I did it. We can psych ourselves out of exercise and make excuses very easily. One thing that helped and made it enjoyable was listening to audiobooks and podcasts while walking, so I was expanding my mind while shrinking by body. I would often walk longer just to get through a chapter or finish a podcast, and go walking just so I could continue to enjoy the book I was listening to.
