Carol- With exercise your body floods the area with fluid to ease the pain you are feeling. It could very well be from the exercise .

Were you not losing? Is that why you decreased your calories ?? Maybe go back to the higher level ?? girl, you are my inspiration , so I hate to see you struggled. You have always helped me so much!!!

LCG, zipp said exactly what I wanted to say! Maybe you need to go back to your original numbers girl! I did the same thing, lowered mine to restart losses and then stalled, remember? went back to originals (and I'm STILL there! Even a bit more now and still slowly losing!). ITA on the exercise adding to it, too!

Carol, don't you hate seeing a bounce up after a DD? It's such a let down, but whenever that happens, it's almost always one of those "x factor" scale-messing-up things. It sounds like the biking is a likely suspect, especially since you were experiencing pain (inflammation?) I know you feel like you're in a lull, but I've been tracking with you for all these months, and it seems like your tendency is to lose in batches (like lots of us). You had an amazing run last month and it will be back when your body's ready!

I saw my first new low in weeks today, so from my perspective you're doing amazingly well!

sweet friend! Yes, I was trying to ease down a bit because I had found a real "sweet spot" and was losing pretty well and then I bounced up a couple of pounds and stayed up. Yesterday I had 2000 calories and today will be 400 to 500. I realize that doing that gives me 1200-1250 average per day, which should be plenty to lose with. We'll see how it goes. Thank you for always being such a wonderful support!

Yes, I remember that! And I've done it to myself before too. I would love to be able to keep losing at higher calories, so I'll try that for awhile. I do think the bike had something to do with it too. Plus TMI, which I think has resolved this weekend. Thanks for cheering for me GF!

for your new low! I'm so glad!

You're so right, I do lose in batches. It's euphoric during the losses and frustration during the lulls. I should be better able to handle it since I know it's my pattern. Ugh! I just want to get on with maintenance already! Impatient much? Thanks for the pep talk, and helping me get my head back on straight....again!

I stopped doing daily weigh-ins.

Here's my weekly

Start: 294.0 (10/1/13)
Wk1: 290.2 (10/7/13)
Wk2: 287.0 (10/14/13)
Wk3: 286.0 (10/21/13)

That's 4 pounds lost on JUDDD in 2 weeks. I had a very stressful week, death of a close family member and am just happy I was able to hold my emotional eating in check.

Stats: 184/158/157 restart 5-1-14 165.5/164/154
WOE: JUDDD
Start Date: May 2013
Goal for October is 156 and regular exercise.

October 1 DD 160.5 (320 calories)
October 2 UD 159 (2476 calories - planned for 1765)
October 3 UD 160.5 (1750 calories)
October 4 DD 161 (340 calories) (surprised as I didn't know how 2 UDs in a row would be)
October 5 UD 159 (2495 calories)
October 6 DD 161 (350 calories)
October 7 UD 159.5 (2450 calories) I'm not going to lose on 4:3 or know if I would if I don't get these UD calories under control... stay tuned
October 8 DD 161 (350 calories)
October 9 UD 159.5 (1713 calories - that's more like it!)
October 10 DD 158.5 (350 calories)
October 11 UD 156.5 (2301 calories - date night)
October 12 UD 158.5 (did not count - eating out)
October 13 DD 160.5 (turned into MD)
October 14 UD 160 (did not count)
October 15 DD 161 (350 calories)
October 16 UD 159.5 (1765 calories)
October 17 DD 159.5 (550 calories)
October 18 UD 158 DNCount
October 19 UD ?? DNCount
October 20 ?? 160 DNCount
October 21 DD 161 - plan today is for liquids only

I got lost somewhere on the weekends. Need to pull in the reins today! I am going back to eod. What I found on 4:3 was it changed my mind set - having two UD on Fri and Saturday felt too much like NOT dieting, and then that feeling persisted into Sunday and the rest of the week. I want to nip the upward trend on the scale quickly.

Have decided to try 4:3 for the month of October. Ending experiment on Oct 21.

Just curious. Why do some of you weigh everyday? It would be frustrating for me to see my weight bobbing up and down on a daily basis.

It can give us lots of good information about how our particular bodies respond to certain things, to see the overall trend downward despite the bouncing, and to find out if/when/how we need to adjust as we move down the scale. Many of us didn't weigh daily in the beginning for exactly the reason you mentioned. I weighed once a week for the first 6 weeks. Now, the bounce doesn't bother me at all (with the rare exception when I REALLY bounce!). It's not for everyone. Some don't weigh at all, and just go by health markers, measuring tape results, the way their clothes are fitting, etc.

I weigh daily so I can average at the end of the week and see the overall downward - or UPward trend. When I weighed only once a week I would try so hard for that particular day's weight - or slack off till weigh-in day... it just didn't work for me. I need to see the overall average trend. One day's weight can be influenced by so many things - bloat, whether you need TMI, muscle soreness etc.

It is frustrating, but I think it's become an obsession for me. I don't have to post it on here, but you bet I'm going to get on the scale every day. I went for over 2 years without weighing at ALL. In fact, my scale needed a battery that I just didn't replace. Now, I feel if I slack off on weighing, I slack off on my eating plan. It's just my way of staying on top of things.
