Mmmmm.....fall baking sounds wonderful!

Carly, I'm sorry you're feeling bad. Hives are just awful! They freak me out for some reason. Maybe because mine rarely go away by themselves and I wind up with a pack of prednisone. I hope yours are gone soon!

Hope you feel better soon, Carly! I'm glad it is rare though, and I hope you get a chance to walk around in this lovely weather. It's about the same here in S.C. too. Cool mornings and warm afternoons. I love it too.

I just cleaned both bathrooms and vacuumed our bedroom. I feel virtuous. One less thing to worry about on the weekend. Yay!

The agricultural fair started today, and I think we're going to go one night. I'm looking forward to it. I haven't been in years! Dawn mentioned red velvet funnel cake, and now I really hope they have it!

I have no idea, but I can only assume that person exercises a lot and is muscular?

Happy October everyone!

I believe that was "The Redhead" that posted that BUT I am doing about the same thing and I do not exercise and I am sure not muscular. Maintenance for me is usually an UUAD then a DD and repeat. Something seems to happen after doing this for so long that makes eating higher calories possible. Both of us still do EOD if I remember correctly from her last post.

It is. People disagree somewhat about what constitutes a UUAD, but it's generally thought that 1000 or more over your normal UD calories is a UUAD.

Of course, if I did that, it would still have to be low carb and moderate protein, because of diabetes concerns. Even so, a lot more fat would be fun!

OMM with real whipped cream...LC cheesecake, baked brie with real pork rinds, steak with butter and horseradish crust... ok, I've only had coffee and only 400 calories yesterday.

Oh my... Now I want Brie! I almost bought some the other day and then got side tracked. I feel 100% better today. No headache and no hives. I am working my way through my first large coffee so I suspect the absence of caffeine yesterday caused the headache. The hives- who knows, but they are gone. I'm here in downtown Manhatten waiting for my meeting to start. At 8:45am it is already warm and beautiful outside .

It was definitely Laurie (TheRedhead). I was doing 2000/1000, though usually less than 1000, but with a higher UUAD thrown in here and there and maintained great. That's the beauty of JUDDD maintenance--you get to choose how you want to spend your calories, and it can often be more than the calculator gives.

Huh. That is a lot of maintenance cals!!!! I will have to try it when I am farther along in maintenance. I am still too scared if regaining to do that at this point! Sure sounds fun, though!

Carly, hives? Ugh!!!! They take so long to go away when my son gets them. Feel better girl!

Just checking in to let you know I'm still around and am hopping back on the bandwagon seriously. I've just been maintaining for the last year so need to start the weight loss again...I've 45 more pounds to lose so trying to get some of it off by my birthday in January.

Not that I have anything to add to it, but I haven't seen the thread for weight loss in September...have y'all stopped that, or is everyone so busy no one has thought of it. I always look forward to the total pounds this group have lost in one month...sometimes it amazes me how successful our woe is.

Did you know that one piece of candy corn has 7.4 calories? I bought a package yesterday (UD) but didn't have any. They're tempting me today on DD, and I keep telling myself I could have one or two and be fine, but I'm worried I won't stop there! Trying to stay strong!

Ah, no, LCG, I didn't know that...but you've read how the M&M's have been stalking me this week. I can relate!!! TOM has arrived for you, too, though, right? I blame him for everything. LOL!

Hi Mary, good to see you!!! Awesome that you've been in maintenance for a year and doing well with it! I'm sure you'll get the rest of the weight you want to lose off in no time!

I had some caramels and tiny kit kats this morning off a co-workers desk, and it wasn't in my plans, so it doesn't count. It's funny how I can not eat any of it on DDs, but on UDs I have to force myself to not go and get more. I just did the math and I'm not doing so badly...at 1100 now. Before dinner, wine and dessert.

Yep, Melinda. Your talking about the M&Ms were why I stopped in the candy aisle! I had to see if they had those darn candy corn M&Ms. They did. But I opted for the real candy corns instead. And no, TOM hasn't come yet. I thought it would earlier this week, could kind of feel it coming, but nothing so far. My cycles are really wonky lately though. Leading up to the lovely "change" I suspect. Or maybe it's just so much weight lost.

So anyway, I haven't had any candy, and at this stage in the day, I'm confident I won't. Dinner will be in a couple of hours and after that I'm home free. Another one (almost) in the books.

Good job with avoiding the candy corn... that would be my undoing on a DD I'm sure of it. I doubt I could eat just 1. I dislike all fruity candies like skittles or starburst and the like. I could eat 1 Skittle and not want more, but candy corn would be tough. I won't allow it in the house. If I slept walked and ate a bag of candy corn I would be so sick in the morning.

I haven't had TOM in 4-6 months now. I can't remember if the last time was March or May, lol. I don't miss it, and I love the freedom. 37 years of monthly TOM for a week is finally over, and I feel like celebrating.

I had braces from third to seventh grade and I can tell you that my candy habit was broken. To this day I dislike candy. I think that's why I try to pretend Halloween out of existence. Interesting, since I love chocolate so much.

Fall baking - yum. I made pumpkin muffins and an apple galette yesterday for my DH's club meeting. I got to have a piece and the rest was eaten by others. Which is a good thing for my DD today.

I am trying 4:3 for the month of October and yesterday was my second UD in a row. My mind and body weren't ready for it though - had to keep reminding myself to eat, as I thought I wanted 4:3 for just that - eating more. I will continue - as I edge closer to goal... I am anxious to see what my options are for maintenance - as that is the part of every diet I've been on that I've failed at... obviously. I want to think that those extra calories you are talking about can be my maintenance reality!

Speaking of hives - my DD has had then daily for over a year and a half now. She's been to every doctor you can imagine and tried many different meds and diets and her final diagnosis is chronic hives. It's not that uncommon when you do an internet search either.

I was like clock work until last year, so you have a few years left probably.

I have one more week that I need to stay on this schedule, so I will probably be doing either a MD tomorrow or another 2 UDs (Sat & Sun). Unfortunately, 4:3 is not working well for weight-loss for me, because UD to me often equals free day lol. I have a luncheon on Tues. and on Wed. I want to take advantage of some free health tests at work, so it will be a good fasting day. At this rate, I might not lose a lb before 2014.

I wish braces had made me hate candy!!! Desserts are the biggest trigger for my weight gain. GRRRRRRRR

My mom went through meno early, but at this point, it's not looking like I'm following her pattern. (of course not, she had easy births, too, and I sure didn't!) Oh well...can't wish my life away! As for 4:3, I can't do it for weight loss, either. I am thinking I won't be able to do it regularly for maintenance as well. Oh well, I can at least do a few days in a row here and there! You will get where you want to be gf!!!! Keep going girl!

Morning all! DH is actually <gasp> off today, so we are headed out to birthday shop for the 2 of ours that have bdays this week (and my dad's, whose bday is tomorrow). I sure hope we are able to figure something out. They're at difficult ages!

Speaking of TOM, this is my first since starting JUDDD. It's annoying the $#&* out of me because I had been on a pretty steady down trend and the past few days I've been retaining water. Normally the scale bounce doesn't phase me but it has been for a couple days, I'll blame hormones.

Everyone is talking candy and baking, I have been nominated (by the husband) to make 20 dozen cakepops (giftboxes) for the bozos at his work, I'll soon be up to my armpits in cake, frosting and chocolate!! My plan is to only make them on UDs! I also opened my big fat mouth and said that chocolate dipped pretzels would be a good idea too, but I can resist those a bit better than the cake pops.....real chefs HAVE to sample though, ya know...

Last year was healthier I made all vegetable hot process soap! I still make soap but since his gift list went from 10 to 20, that much soap is beyond me at this point (I would have had to have started in June!). I should start on the soap right now for next year (it gets better the longer it cures, I have some awesome soap from last September)!

Ugh! Me too, just started today, did notice I'm no where near as grumpy as I was with my TOM on Atkins, that was horrible!! I'm up my typical 4 pounds.

Good Lord!! I hope you're getting paid.
