Hello Kissa . Are you home again now?

I finally saw an 8! 8 st 13.4! (125.4) I hope a few more days will get it properly established — though spending the weekend visiting my parents isn’t going to help!

Yes, Ailuros, back from Italy with a lot of pasta tummy. (But I dropped almost 4lbs with one serious DD of under 100 cals.) Well done on seeing that 8, we Brits love to see a new stone weight. I am chasing you.

Those of you struggling to get in your calories on Up days should try to introduce a few calorie dense foods. It is easy to add calories with butter, full fat dressings, cream, avocados, nuts etc. That is one of the joys of JUDDD.

I know I’ll be a bit frustrated over the next week or so, bobbing between 8 and 9, but with a following wind, I should get rid of all the 9s by the end of the month.

I’m sure your pasta (and pizza?) tummy will soon be gone!

I so,want to stick with this way of eating. I did 550 calories yesterday. I am already planning my next dd. this site has lots of great ideas and low cal options. I have a list a mile long. Wish me luck. I only need to lose about 5-7 pounds but with menopause sneaking up on me it is harder then ever. I gained 6 pounds in a year. I used to maintain with no problem. But not anymore. Grrrr .. I tried Judd a year ago and dropped 5 pounds in the first 10 days but didn't stick with it. I hope I can this time.

back Brenda! Your first DD sounds like a success and I'm sure you'll do well. Planning is really key, in my opinion, especially in the beginning. Good luck!

yesterday was my up day,, today is the DD. I am at work with my 2 egg whites,, a piece of tiliapia for lunch and some asparagus.. For a snack this afternoon I have a rice cake.. tonight I am having cabbage and 2 ounces of sausage.. That should get me around 450.. So far today only coffee. I try to go as long as possible, it seems once you eat anything you cant stop,, at least for me.. Wish me luck, thanks for asking!!

Welcome Brenda... I agree with waiting on a DD to eat, but it took me a few months on JUDDD till I got to that point. I use to eat three mini meals but now do fine with one at dinner time. My DD calories are 350. Good luck - stick with JUDDD... it's MAGIC! I am postmenopause and thought weight gain was it... I've been proven wrong!

Welcome Brenda. I find that I get hungrier too if I eat early. I try not to have anything until afternoon.

In regards to sleep, I was worried after some of the posts here that I wouldn't sleep well at first on JUDDD. I suffer from insomnia anyway. However, I seem to be sleeping better in DD than UD. I've only been doing this for 5 days so my experience is limited though. Not sleeping really wears you down.

Cook the cabbage long and slow in some broth, you'll hardly miss the sausage.

You are doing great.

Tina yesterday was in ud. I finally got hungry and ate prime rib and sweet potato fries and wine. Ugh. Now I feel bloated.
Now it is Saturday morning and a dd. I am skipping breakfast and only having coffee. Not sure about lunch yet. Maybe a salad. Dinner will be cabbage and 2 ounces of sausage. I am going to be shopping for some dd foods later today.

I try to hold off eating as late as I can on DD's. It seems to help.

Today's a DD for me. I've been weighing daily and was very surprised to weigh in today with a loss from yesterday! I'm looking forward to my 'official' weigh in tomorrow. I love when I can change my stats in a positive way!

I know the 1st 2 weeks of JUDDD is induction. Do you do anything different after induction? Or is that just when you're ready to maintain? I'm not going to be ready to maintain for a long, long time I'm afraid.

Induction is not a big thing on JUDDD. Dr. Johnson says during the first 2 weeks have DDs at 500 calories and then recommends dropping down to your 20% DD number. I started with my 20% DD number, because I didn't know you could ease into it with 500 calories and some people are able to lose for quite a while at 500. So there isn't much change after the "induction phase".

Haha, induction was the opposite for me (guess it is nice being young and male). Starting next week my DD cals move up to around 690-700 going for 25% and at a light exercise level. I feel the need to add in at least some of my exercise cals as I am working out 6+ days a week. So next week I am going to 2700:700 on my UD/DD. Glad everything is working out for all the other Oct. starters!

Just finished my last 500 cal DD. Didn't eat til 6 PM which was after my workout. Had some pasta and sauce and a Quest bar (I am not doing LC JUDDD). Weighed in at 193 at the end of Atkins, was down to 188.6 last Wednesday after about a week and a half of JUDDD. My workouts have drastically increased in intensity when switching to JUDDD and I have found I have much more energy with this WOE than with Atkins. I really think JUDDD is exactly what my body is set up for and what my mindset is geared towards. I don't think about food, I don't need to weigh in more than every 10 days or so, sometimes even longer, and I love being able to eat what I want, when I want, even though I still try to keep it healthy, with whole grains and limited processed foods. But I love this WOE and will keep it up! 2 weeks down! And a lifetime to go!

Yesterday was an UP day. I am looking forward to a dd. We were at at tailgate party and ate too much. I just packed up lunch for work, chicken breast and broth and some eggs whites if needed. Then sauted cabbage for dinner. Should be around 500.

You are doing so well t17, how wonderful to have found this plan so early in life. You will be able to enjoy so many of the health benefits along with maintaining a great body. I think those numbers sound really good...

Brenda I think many, many Newbies are amazed at how 'easy' DDs are and even more amazed that we can actually look forward to and enjoy them. You are doing great.

Tee and Brenda it sounds like you are both doing well.
Yes, Tee, it is nice being a young male with regard to calorie allotment. My fellow tall JUDDD Buds make out fairly well too. I can't really complain, though. My UD is 1550, but in reality that is more than enough for me.

This right there is why I need to tighten up my rotation numbers! I've decided I want to lose a little more and there is NO WAY I've ever had UD numbers that low! Thanks for sharing that again, Carly, I needed that!

Brenda, you are prepared and that is certainly half the battle! Doing great!!

Tina, hope your official WI was what you were hoping for!

teeing, happy to hear you're still loving the plan!

Melinda- if you lose when you eat more- eat more! My UDs range quite a bit. It is supposed to be 1550 (about), but since I frequently fast till evening I may only get 1200 in, but other UDs are closer to 1800. I'm doing 5:2 so I only have 2 DDs per week. It works great for maintenance for me.

I’m back home after a somewhat UUAA weekend. Today was a reasonable down day. I’ll weigh myself in the morning and assess the damage…
