Congrats! Definitely stick with your DD calories as long as they are working for you. JUDDD is about making the plan work for you.

Today is my 1st day of JUDDD. It's an UD for me. This plan seems sustainable for me much more than any other plan so I'm really looking forward to this.

! I exercise on DD. Everyone is different. Even if you find it difficult at the beginning to exercise on DD (which you may not) you should try again a little while into JUDDD since many of us have loads of energy on DD and feel more inclined to exercise on DD than UD.

Welcome to all the newbies!!

Carly gives great advice. Do one thing at a time until you're used to it!

I walk and do core strengthening exercises but I did nothing for a long time and still lost. I do think in general, if you are physically able, doing strength-building exercises will help maintain lbm (lean body mass), while helping to burn fat preferentially...

Great job and nice losses! You've got this! I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and I agree, stick with the calories that are working and don't mess with it 'til it stops working!

So I am entering P3 doing JUDDD again. Very excited! I need to continue it as a lifestyle and WOE this time though.

If you don't mind me asking, I forget if you are supposed to start with an UP or DD? Thanks much and hope everyone has been well!

Welcome back Amy! I'd start with an UD. It sure makes the next DD a lot easier.

Welcome back LCL! Yes, it will work for you this time. Just stick with the plan, trust it, and you'll be seeing the rewards before you know it.

Welcome Tina! I exercise on either day and don't really notice any difference. I do notice that morning is the best time for me. I have tons more energy and can do more and push myself more in the morning. Either day. Keep in mind, I really don't do anything super strenuous. Walking, hula hooping, short body weight sessions.

Thanks so much ladies! I am coming off of HCG and very low calorie and no carbs....so I only seem to know DDs! lol. I am very hesitant to add carbs back in too quickly on my UP days, so will probably just start with the basics of mayo, real salad dressing, avacado, etc... After the limited foods I have been eating, I am super excited even for those!

Errr... up again at 2am and can't get back to sleep. Maybe it is something else? How can I already develop sleep problems? It is only my first DD!
I also have s migraine so I will blame it on that tonight.

FWIW, I had trouble sleeping on DDs when I started this WOE six weeks ago, but those days are long gone, I'm happy to say. I think this problem only lasted a couple weeks.

I've only been doing JUDDD for 6 weeks, so I'm no expert...but I have found out a few things about exercise that are true for me. I usually do power walking (walk-at-home DVDs, normally 3-4 miles at a time), and prefer first thing in the morning. However, if I do this on DDs, when I don't usually eat until 2:30 - 3 p.m., I get very hungry and stay that way most of the day. On the other hand, if I do my exercise on DDs between my two meals, say around 7 p.m., I don't have any problems. On UDs, I can do my power walking at any time without feeling too hungry. As others have said, I think you have to find what works for you.

Well today marks 1 week I've been on Juddd. Despite eating really, really, really bad on my UDs and only doing DD on M, W, F I managed to lose 1 pound. I've decided to do set DDs of M, W, F because it was just too difficult to try and do a DD on the weekend. On Saturdays me and my DH are running around town and often eat out. On Sundays me and my mom are running around and eat out. I don't want to give that up so I'm going to start out doing M, W, F and see how that goes. This week I'm going to try and cook more on my UD so that I eat whole foods verses a bunch of processed food. I'm really quite shocked that I managed to lose a pound considering how much and how badly I ate.

I finally felt brave enough to calculate my calories for down days. I’m eating about 500, which is pretty close to the number from the JUDDD site for 35%. It’s harder to calculate what I’m eating on up days, because it’s much less consistent, but 1500 (that’s what the calculator says) is probably not that far off.

I weighed 126.2 after an up day this morning, so getting below 126 is looking awfully close (126 is 9 stones, so getting below it means 8 stone something instead of 9).

Sorry if I keep asking questions! Obviously I don't have the book and want to wait a few months for the new one to come out. My target UD is 2,419. I just planned out my day tomorrow and I'm coming in at just under 1,700 calories. Honestly, it's plenty of food. Is it ok to add a few extra calories on DD to make up the difference or will that mess up the balance?

No. That is not recommended. You want DDs to be as low as possible and UDs to be as close as possible to your target. Please don't adjust a DD higher because you had a low UD.

Glad to hear! I actually slept well last night after my 1st DD, so that's a plus! Today was good, but I didn't get my UD cals in. I wasn't hungry...whodathunk?! Haha. I was so looking forward to a LC drink that I can only do on UD and I wasn't even in the mood for it.
