Resisting Change

I'm am fighting the good fight against the urge to change things up and eat a different amount of food than I have been eating recently. Why?, I ask myself.

It's because I feel slightly guilty about eating an average of 1155 calories per day when the JUDDD calculator tells me that I should only be eating an average of 1042 calories per day, at 35% weight loss mode, with 1544 and 540 every other day.

My measurements are going down. My body fat is going down. My scale weight is rather erratic and currently trending back up again, which should not matter.

But I wonder if I would be going through all this anguish (and I use the term lightly) if my weight was also trending nicely down.

I am trying to make a vow to myself to not make any significant change for the rest of September.

DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING Rebecca...

....if you are still losing nicely! Don't do it! I mean it! Don't! Just don't!

Okay, I'm being a little dramatic, but I've seen it over and over here, and I've had it happen to me. You get to where you feel like you've lost a bit and need to start restricting more. Not because the losses have slowed. Not because you're not losing inches or going down clothing sizes. Just because we're all so messed up mentally by this diet mentality and our horrible past experiences.

As long as you are losing well, don't change anything! You are doing GREAT!

I know! I know! It's ridiculous that way I am thinking. I am going to at least get to the end of September before I even think about changing anything. Maybe by then, I will feel differently and won't want to change anything.

Sabatoge

We are the greatest saboteurs of ourselves. Just when things are perking
along nicely, we start thinking mmmmmm, maybe if I just did "THIS"
or
"THAT" things would roll along smoother, and better.

Hey don't do it. Why change success?

I'm looking at my charts this morning and feeling better about things, especially since I hit a new body fat low this morning.

The scale is not going down to speak of, but the body measurements are, and that is all that matters.

I think one of the reasons I was stressing is that I leave this morning to go take care of my sister for three days, and I am not in total control of what I am served for dinner. Plus, one of the days I am there is a down day, and that is always a little awkward around family.

However, the last time I was there, I came back smaller, so I know it can be done!

I'm glad you decided to stick to the protocol that's been working so well for you. I think doing a DD at your sister's should be fairly easy if you can just eat some soup maybe for lunch, and have 300-400 left for dinner. That should give you room for a meal no one would think twice about.

I am going to try to hold off eating all together for as long as I can on Sunday, so I can eat a small meal with the family at dinner.

You've got a good plan Rebecca. I know it must be tough when you're not able to personally pick the food you may be eating. Does the family know what you're doing regarding WOE? Are they supportive? I hope so, considering all that you're doing to help!

Stay the course! Ignore the scale! It's oblivious for long periods of time...but your measurements aren't. You're doing great!!!
