Did the weight loss slow down?

I'm curious to know what your experience was...

I've been on JUDDD for 10 weeks today and have shed 20.6 pounds. That's an average of around 2 pounds per week. Some weeks it's less and some weeks it's more, but 2 is the average.

What I want to know is if I keep doing what I'm doing how long can I expect to see the average 2 pounds come off each week? Is there going to be a point where it slows down naturally? Or can your body continue to drop at a fairly steady rate for a long time, or even all the way to goal if that's what you want?

For those in maintenance or who've been in WLM for a long time...what's your take?

I would like to know this too.

I'm at 10 weeks with a 17 lb. loss, and that includes a 10 day trip out of the country where I stopped Judding.
I expected to come back with several extra pounds, but I actually lost 1 pound, which leads me to believe my metabolism is ticking along quite nicely with no slowing down.

Hoping this keeps up, but wondering if I should be prepared for a plateau?

I had some weeks where it was fast and some where it was slow, but when I was obese, the "average" was 3 pounds per week. As I got to a healthier weight, it did slow down a little bit, but I still averaged 2 pounds per week. Even a couple of months ago when I decided to lose a few more pounds, I lost about 2 pounds per week, which surprised me after having maintained for quite some time.

My experience is that the loss was steadier throughout my entire loss than on any other plan I did, and I did lots of plans!

I realize I don't qualify as a JUDDD maintainer or a long timer... that said, I've lost pretty consistantly since my start of May 1 - four pounds a month which I'm very happy about. I've dieted my entire life in one way or another and this is the first time I haven't stalled for weeks. I had also expected, given my age of 61, that I would lose slower and stall more.

... here's hoping we're the fortunate ones! No stalls for us!

When I started JUDDD I was about 264 and I lost nice and steadily, except for TOM week. As I got smaller, I would lose in fits and starts. In the last several months I've lost most of my monthly losses in 7 to 10 days each month, staying pretty steady the rest of the month. I did stall for over a month and had my first real loss yesterday morning after over a month of hovering around the same weight. I really think that is my body saying "I've been losing a lot and for a long time and I need a breather."

I also reduced my calories down to what the JUDDD calculator says I should be at and after a couple of rotations the losses started back again. I was trying to keep calories up to keep my metabolism up, which worked for a good long time. But evidently it was time to notch them back.

I wish I was one who had steady losses all the time, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me, even when I'm doing it by the book. I'm learning to live with that and keep persevering, knowing it will work over time. Patience...never my strong suit.

It does occur to me as I'm thinking about this more, that I never really stalled, but I did take maintenance breaks a couple of times when I started to feel a bit of diet fatigue. I suppose it's possible that if I hadn't listened to my body and taken a break, I may have stalled during those times.

Someone once posted that you're supposed to take a break every few months (dieting in general, not JUDDD related) to let your body adjust. That wasn't posted until after I'd already gotten into the habit of taking breaks, but it does seem to coincide with the time frames of when I just naturally knew I needed a break.

Sounds like the formal studies haven't gone past 6 months duration yet. These numbers sound about right to me (depending on how much you have to lose) but people on here have self-tested for longer periods. I think that one ADF benefit would be that it would be harder to get calorie creep like most people do on a constant diet since you're measuring less food in general so it's easier to record accurately?
‘In general, people lose about 10-30 pounds in about eight weeks and after about six months, people lose on average about 25 pounds,’ says Varady. ‘The weight loss is at first dramatic and then peters off. The most anyone has lost in our studies is 55 pounds after six months.’

Aw, darn, I was hoping I beat that. I just checked my stats and found I lost 54.6 pounds in the first 6 months. Drat.

Thanks for the feedback ladies.

From the sounds of it I might as well continue going hardcore and on plan up to the six month mark so I can get all the weight loss benefit possible. Even though I do want to take the last few pounds off slowly, there's no way of knowing what my body has in store for me. So I'll do what I've been doing and ride the wave until it goes flat.

They probably started out fluffier so maybe you are still the biggest loser on a percentage basis. Either way, a tight race and at least you won the silver!

You did awesome! If I can hit 45-50lbs lost in my first 6 months I'll be ecstatic. It'll give me the other 6 months to take off the final 10-15.

I think it's one of those "it's different for everybody things". I've had good weeks and bad weeks, but looking back it seems like it actually has been fairly consistent for me since the beginning. I am surprised to still be seeing baby losses so often now that I am in my goal range. I'll take it!

My losses were consistent right through goal. I lost best for about 10 days out of each month, but I didn't really lose slower as I got closer to goal. I stayed true to my rotations and kept good low DDs and enjoyed every minute of the juddd journey.

My weight loss has slowed some, from maybe average of 7 pounds a month at first to more like 5 pounds a month now (some months more, some less), but that makes sense to me as I am not carrying around the equivalent of nearly 2 huge bags of dog food anymore.
