Just checking in.

I started at 174.5 on Labor Day. I was at 172.0 yesterday. A little off the pace to make my goal of 166 by Halloween, but I think I can do it.

I think 15 lbs is a reasonable Halloween goal. I've started my 30 day challenge today, so Halloween will be my reward day Something in the way of a pedicure and nachos! It'll be an up day anyway. 15 will put me at 180. Ok, make that 16 lbs - then I'll be in the 170s LOL!

I've set myself a 7 lbs a month challenge so I can fit in a size UK 10/12 bikini by my holiday next July so my Halloween goal is 194 x

I had a rather amazing drop and weighed in in the 160s this weekend, so I'm feeling I am zipping right along towards 166.

I'm also working on my Halloween costume, so getting it done and looking great in it will be my Halloween reward.

Glad to see you here, Genie.

I did 5 minutes with the weighted hula hoop on Saturday, then 7.5 minutes on Sunday. I was going to shoot for 10 minutes today, but everything hurts. I'm thinking it's a rest day today. I can't imagine getting to 60 or more minutes like some (Carol, for one!) do. I'm hoping that will whittle away an inch or two by Halloween.

How did that happen, pray tell? Great job!!!

I am at 173 for my lowest weight so far, and nearly 177 today after two UDs. I don't think my goal of 165 was realistic, as usual, but I will keep fighting the good fight.

I think it is because I am doing the SNAP challenge (eating on $4.50 per day- the amount the average food stamp recipient gets) for a week. I was determined not to load up on cheap starches, so my meals have been meat, veg, and egg. No fun extras at all. Also, I've been hungry most days, so probably not as many calories, although it may be mental. I'm finding I REALLY dislike having to restrict myself. Very grateful I am doing this by choice, and not necessity.

Fight, fight, fight! You can do it! (And I love to see a good fight!)

It might be a UD for me, if I stay on this schedule. I commend you for trying the SNAP challenge, Sirtain. If nothing else, you're saving tons of money. Can you eat food you grow yourself without counting the cost? Adi would do well with this challenge if you can!

Hey ladies and gents!

Today marks the end of my first 12 weeks JUDDD'ing and doing intense workouts 6 days a week. I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks and today I've decided that I need to take a 1 week break from working out and relax a little on my UD/DD calories. I still feel good but I'm noticing that my energy is not as high as it was a few weeks ago. I think my body is telling me to lay off and take a breather so I'm going to listen and do just that.

I will still stick to my rotations but will raise my calorie levels on UD's and DD's by a couple hundred calories each day. I'm using this as a "reset" or sorts with the goal of coming back stronger for the next 12 weeks to the end of the year.

I think it's a great idea to take a "maintenance break". And to listen to your body. It usually knows best when you really stop to listen. Good job so far, and good job now taking a needed break!

ME TOO!!! My nutso husband gets up every weekday at 4:30 and does his exercise DVD. I'd join him (actually did once but it as a Saturday at 7:30) but I have trouble staying asleep all night so I need all the sleep I can get (perhaps exercising would help me sleep better though...).

I really haven't been doing rotations since the middle of September and will not be making any attempt to continue them, so essentially I have stopped doing JUDDD. I have been doing nutritional ketosis since the 9/1 and will be continuing it for the foreseeable future. I really think very low carb is best for me and my goal for lowering my body fat % while gaining strength and maintaining my weight around 190. I'm going to continue tracking though on the weight and exercise threads because I don't really want to switch to a different forum at this point, and I'll pop back here to report on my Halloween goals.

Around Halloween I'm planning on scheduling a Dexa scan to get an accurate measure of body fat so that I can really see where I'm really at.

My original goal is: I want to see 156 on the scale and into some size 10s comfortably - this will be achieved by EXERCISING! It's doable.

I'm happy to report that I have begun walking again. Two days in at 1 mile each day. Today temps are in the 80s so an outside longer walk is in order. Lowest weight has been 158 - saw it once last week, so know it's coming back soon!

I've switched to 4:3 as I get closer to goal - hoping it doesn't back fire on me for my Halloween Goal.

Oh and found the Spicy Pumpkin M&Ms - enjoyed a few, but M&Ms are not my candy of choice if I'm going to indulge. Just had to try them ... very good!!

I'm in!

I did not quite meet my labor day goal. In fact, the whole month of September was bad for me and I gained a bit (not much, but enough). So I think for this challenge, I'm going to set my goal as getting as close to onederland as possible, if not in it!

I've been doing Primal JUDDD for a while, which is fairly low carb but I still often got into the 100-150g carbs on an UD. I avoided all non-primal foods, so no grains/legumes/vegetable oils. But I still wasn't really making the progress I wanted to for body fat. I got down to a good weight. So I started doing more research and I read up more on ketosis and some tumblr blogs I follow started doing it so I was intrigued and wanted to try it out. It turned out to be very easy to transition to and keep carbs around 20-25g a day. I felt really good after the first 2 weeks and found that I didn't need any calorie swing to still lose weight at around 2300 calories a day, which is about a 10% deficit from TDEE for me. Plus my fat layer at my midsection started to noticeable shrink.

I've been doing intermittent fasting even with JUDDD not eating my first meal, besides HWC in my coffee, until after 12noon or 1pm so I already fast every day for about 16 hours. So if I can get the benefits of fasting, and eat at a constant calorie amount, eat yummy things, never worry about switching rotations to deal with social obligations, never have any real big bounces after an UD, and eat extra fat if I'm really hungry, then JUDDD doesn't make sense to me any more. NK seems like a good maintenance option for me and fits well with my exercise and long term goals.

Plus recent things I've been listening to (podcasts) and reading, Grain Brain, point to the negative detrimental affects Carb have on our health overall and specifically brain health. So trying to be the healthiest I can be I'm going to see what long term ketosis does for me.

Plus, ABS, in the last month I've actually seen my abs muscles for the first time in my life! Maybe at this rate I can dress up for Halloween as a spartan warrior from 300 sporting a 6 pack!! Haha!

Thanks LCG and all my JUDDD buds for the words of encouragement. I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel weird not to workout everyday or to be eating more overall calories, but I can feel the recovery happening in my body.

Only 4 more weeks left in the Halloween Challenge! I'm still keeping my goal even though I'm taking a week off, but as usual, even if I don't make it, I know I'll be pretty darn close!

Maybe I should add some 30 day shred to my up days starting Monday - Doing a lot of running this week, preparing for the Warrior Dash Saturday. I love doing these mud runs, but it's always discouraging seeing all these runners all fit and skinny, and I'm WAY behind them, with my short stride, and jiggly thighs LOL! I feel like a healthy person, but they look healthy.

I am in, need some accountability it feels like at this time. Feeling a bit puffy! Have been wanting to get back to WLM after about a year of maintenance (within ~ 5 pounds). Right now I am on the high side of that maintenance swing.

Still trying to wrap my head around getting to my next long term goal. One step at a time....I am going for 5 pounds here by Halloween, which would put me at 142, back at my maintenance low from last year and this past summer. Then refocus on WLM with the next challenge??

I want to revise my Halloween goal. Originally I said I'd like to be in maintenance which is great, but pretty open ended. So, I'd like to be more specific and say that I'd like to be maintaining at or under 130, even after UDs. I also want to challenge myself to do weight training every other day. I do that now, but I'll skip a day every now and then and I want to nip that in the bud.

Hi all. I have just hit my Halloween goal early. I hit 147 this morning to my surprise. Last Monday I weighted 152 then Friday I woke up and dropped down to148. I was in 7th heaven. This is the first time I have been under 150 in maybe 10 years. I was surprised after a up day that I only went up to 149 sat morning then today I dropped on down to 147. This makes me losing 19 lbs since June 16th. 166-147. Would I look odd if I shouted from my roof top in the rain today? YEEPPPPPPeeeeeee I am under 150 at last. Good Luck everybody on hitting your goals.
