I'll play it safe and say 145 by 10/31. Plan of action: NO JUNK FOOD, minimal treats, strict rotations and move it move it move it!

I'm ready for a new challenge, since I bombed at the last one.

I want to see 156 on the scale and into some size 10s comfortably - this will be achieved by EXERCISING! It's doable.

Read over my goals - since we're at the 2 week mark. I feel like I'm on target, although the exercise has been hit or miss - more miss than I'd like.

How is everyone doing? On track for GOAL at Halloween? or

Trying my hand at a daily 'window', so i have my tea & water. Also have a bag of Pumpkin M&M's sitting in my purse....had more than my fair share last night so i'll be good once I send them off with my friend but i'm planning a salad w/ buffalo chicken for lunch. Not sure about the rest of the day.

I'm doing ok so far I think Goner. Sticking to rotations and working out faithfully. Weigh-in for me tomorrow so I'll come back to update any changes.

Only 6.5 weeks left in the Halloween challenge. Time is flying!

Hope everyone is hanging in there and getting it done!

Seriously? Pumpkin M&Ms... who knew?

I've been thinking about a window for eating... how are you doing it?

Holy Cow is time flying by fast! I've only had one successful 400 calorie DD since restarting last month. I'm hoping now that TOM has arrived after being 6 wks. late, that I'll be able to drop these last few stubborn pounds of water retention weight, along with some fat to reach 140 lbs. by the end of Sept.

Best wishes everybody on your continued progress!

~ Ann

P.S. I eat in an 8 hr. window, after fasting for 16 hrs.

Yes, pumpkin spice M&Ms exist. And tread carefully - they're highly addictive!

I'm basically fasting through lunch, until about 12:30. Just water & fruit tea (any other teas make me sick to my stomach). Then I get full really easily. I work out later at night (8 pm) and by the time I get home, the LAST thing I want to do is eat food! So a protein shake is dinner.

I've thought about this too so it's cool that you guys brought it up.

When I get to my goal weight I want to maintain scale weight and switch my focus to body recomposition (more muscle less fat). I'm going to do it with heavy lifting, HIIT and daily intermittent fasting on a 16/8 split with 40/30/30 macros.

I figure why not start practicing from now with the eating window? I already stop eating at 6pm every day, so I'm thinking on UD's I'll push my first meal back to 10am.

Any body else doing this?

Yup, 10am - 6pm or 11am - 7pm is usually the 8 hr. window that I use during the weekdays for both UDs & DDs. On Sat. UD & Sun. MD, I usually start eating closer to noon & end by 8 pm.

I eat three meals a day that are spaced 4 hrs. apart to avoid binging. It works for me to help keep my hunger & blood sugar under control, and to avoid snacking in the evening. I'm not able to work out first thing in the morning while in a fasted state though, because I experience symptoms of low blood sugar/hypoglycemia and get dizzy.

Good Luck! ~ Ann

I tried on my size 16 Levis this morning, hoping to wear them today. They fit but are still just a touch too snug to be comfortable. Instead of shooting for them to be loose and being in my 14s, maybe I should amend my goal to be comfortably in these 16s. I'm losing off my top half right now!

That's a great plan. I'm going to stick with the window going forward.

Fluffy - WHOO HOO on one-derland!!

LCG - cool that you are losing off the top... that is if you want to lose there? Those 16s will fit by Halloween with room to spare! I'm sure.

As for "windows" - I get the concept, and I guess I do that on my DDs - but here's my question...

At what point on an UD does one break the "fast" - since calories on a DD (under 500), from what I understand, constitute a "fast"... does the UD fast end when I have a meal that has more than 500 calories. Or do I add up the calories and whenever I go over 500 total the fast is broken?

IE: My UD breakfast consists of less than 300 calories - so am I technically still fasting till my lunch ? Most days my UD lunch is about 400 calories and I eat around 1 pm.

Thanks.

DANG... I looked for them while shopping last night - saw candy corn, peanut butter, mint M&Ms... but NO pumpkin spice... must look harder. I see you live in NJ LadyKT... me too... you'd think being so close to MARS I'd see them locally. I was shopping in Target.

I've never thought of it quite that way. My assumption is that breakfast or your first meal on an UD breaks the fast. I guess my thought process is that you've had your 500 or whatever calories during your fasting day, so the next meal, even if it's under 500 calories is added to those calories, thereby breaking the fast. That's just how my brain works and I have no science to back it up.

My typical UD breakfast is 355 calories. My typical UD lunch is 320 calories. Then I have a good, higher calorie dinner with cocktails.

Yep, they're exclusive to Target. My Target had tons of them so guess they are really popular where you are? They were right up front by the registers too.

Thanks ladies.

As for when the fast is broken, mine is definitely first meal on an UD. I always eat a HEARTY breakfast on UD's....I'm talking sizable...at least 800-900 calories.

I do my strength workout in the morning and take in lots of protein and everything else shortly after I'm done. I think this helps my muscles recover and grow better. Lunch is pretty large too and then my dinner could almost be considered a snack. Tapering off at the end of the day helps my body ease back in to fasting mode with the least discomfort I think.

hmmmm My brain works slow and old - but that makes sense... still my DD calories are 350, so could I extend the fast till I hit 500 calories? "food" for thought.

Hi Cuttie! Sure, join in. Two week induction - how ya doin' so far? Yup - do what you have to do - tell yourself you can do it and only DIET every other day! JUDDD gets easier the longer you go... IMO. I had to tweak a bit in the beginning to be sure I had enough energy on the UD... but now it's so much easier.

I went shopping yesterday at Kohl's and the size 16 was close to fitting, but still had to go with 16w. Hoping by Halloween I'll be pulling the 16's off the rack.

This last week was rough! Worst TOM in a long time in terms of bloating and everything else. I weighed in this morning at 198.8, so I'm down 0.6 pounds in the last 8 days. I'm very grateful and actually surprised it's that much with the kind of liquid I'm holding. I hope it all goes away and takes some more pounds with it by next weigh in.

Hope everyone is doing well! Just over 5 weeks to go for this challenge!

I need to set a bigger goal! My goal was to be under 180, and it seems like I might actually do that by the end of September

So based on the 180, I'm doing great on the challenge lol

My updated goal will be 175 by Halloweenie

Ok - I think the part of my goal in fitting into size 10s is about here as I keep pulling up my size 12 slacks today (forgot my belt). Still think I can see 156 on the scale, but it all seems to be achieved WITHOUT exercise, and I really need to get my old body moving before it forgets how!

5 weeks and 1 day to Halloween. I better get moving....
