September Daily Chat

Let's get chatting!

Jbinme 09-01-2013 06:39 AM

I can't believe its already September. I love the fall. It still feels like the middle of summer here still in the 90s.

windygap 09-01-2013 06:58 AM

Leaves are changing, football games are going strong, most all schools will be going by Tue. and the fall festivals are starting. That is a sure sign fall is here.

Librarygirl 09-01-2013 07:04 AM

I love fall, but I wish the temps here would reflect it lol. Here's to a newly (energized) start and a new season, JBs!!

Ellen770 09-01-2013 07:35 AM

Woke up this morning with a mild but persistent case of vertigo. So I am laying out of church.

I survived DD yesterday...kept it under 800 which was good for all the exercise I logged too. Spent 30 minutes in the pool, then worked in my studio for two hours...and working with clay is hard work! :)

Started out the UD today with a lovely South Carolina peach...I realize I live in Georgia, which is the peach state, but just between you and me, I think the SC ones are the best!!

Jbinme 09-01-2013 07:40 AM

Sorry about the vertigo Ellen:console:
My mom has had it for a couple weeks now and her dr suggested motion sickness pills and ginger. Hope you feel better soon.

Carly 09-01-2013 09:14 AM

Ellen- sorry about the vertigo. Peppermint oil- a drop on each temple, use to help me. It also helps headaches.

Fall- :annoyed:! Shorter and cooler days :annoyed: . I'll just start focusing on Spring now :).

Kissa 09-01-2013 09:29 AM

Subbing.

LoCarbGal 09-01-2013 09:31 AM

Safe trip home, Lisa! I love you new avi - you look beautiful, and what a cutie you're holding there!

Ellen, so sorry about the vertigo. That sounds miserable.

I love autumn the best too. It's going to be awhile before it feels like it here though. We're expecting 108* still this coming week. I'm ready for it to get under 100*!

Kismet311 09-01-2013 09:46 AM

I love Autumn (even though it doesn't start for a few more weeks) but I do hate the shorter days. I will be complaining about lack of sunlight until Spring LOL Bring on the cooler air though! I don't mind cold at all just would prefer to skip the snow in the Winter.

Carly 09-01-2013 01:11 PM

Rebecca, I saw the pic of your nephew's spine. It looks just like mine, but I have 2 more screw/ plate deals. Hope he is not miserable as they wean off the morphine. Ohhhhh- I feel for him this next month or so.

Ellen770 09-01-2013 01:16 PM

Oh! Thanks for the tip about ginger, JBINME. I have some, and just had a few pieces. CARLY, I am looking for my peppermint oil too. I felt worse then I did this morning, and realized it was a blood sugar crash. I rectified it by eating some stuff I don't usually get...like organic popcorn popped in ghee. Yum!!

I think I will take a short nap and hope I am up to trimming in a bit...I have three teapots to finish.

Carly 09-01-2013 01:23 PM

Feel better :hugs:

Librarygirl 09-01-2013 02:24 PM

Hope you feel better soon, Ellen. I like S.C. peaches too. :) I am loving Mexican mangoes more though lately. ;)

Love your new avi, Carly!

Well, we went flea marketing again, and damn it was hot. I think I must have melted 10 lbs away. :D I will be soooo glad when the weather starts to cool a bit.

Thanks .
We don't have any flea markets around here... I don't think. I would enjoy walking around at a flea market though- especially if they had good deals.

Kismet311 09-01-2013 03:25 PM

We have tons of flea markets here but I tend to avoid them since I end up wanting to buy everything and spend too much LOL There's one near my MIL's house and every weekend it's open she can't leave the house because there are 100 cars on her street trying to get to it!

Barbo 09-01-2013 03:33 PM

We are roasting here in So. Cal. and I'm near the beach!

It's way over 90 here. Last night at 10 P.M it was 80.
I always feel sorry for the kids. Soon as school starts and everyone
is wearing their new fall clothes, we have a heat wave in Sept/Oct..
How about having P.E. as last period?

Stay cool. I am stuffed from eating out. Hopefully it will be my only
meal today. I need room for waters.:)

JMBM 09-01-2013 03:40 PM

Yeah pretty hot here still but love fall football weather and eating chili and hot stews. :yummy:

JMBM 09-01-2013 03:54 PM

Going to try to be a better planner for my UD tomorrow and keep around 17 to 1800. Making it through a Fri/Sun DD weekend is hard. Especially on a holiday weekend. :p

Carly 09-01-2013 04:22 PM

It was hot here too. About 90* and humid, but I'm not complaining however DW wouldn't go walking with me because she said it was too hot. :annoyed:

JMBM 09-01-2013 04:33 PM

Whew! Can understand that. I tried to get some yard work done and that lasted about 30 min. Lol:p

Aww thanks so much. That's my new niece Madison. My bestie and her hubby did a fantabulous job. She literally layed on my boobs for four days. Only time we could get her to sleep. Ha!

Had a great time in Raleigh today visiting my best friend and her family. She's Vegan and a Nutrionist. She was asking me so many questions today and it felt great to be able to discuss JUDDD with so many people on this vacay. You all might see my Mama pop up on here soon.

Glad your vacation was great! Your niece is so tiny! How old is she?

LiLi914 09-01-2013 05:54 PM

She's five weeks as of today. Nine pounds. They're so awesome when they haven't learned to talk back. She just wants to be cuddled.

Mssarge 09-01-2013 10:20 PM

Hey y'all, I know I'm not posting very much but I'm lurking like crazy. Just wanted to subscribe so I can keep in touch. Hope everyone is doing well and had an enjoyable Summer. Enjoy it even tho' the heat and humidity is amazing....type y'all later.

Kissa 09-02-2013 02:39 AM

We miss you Mary! Nice to see you.

Off to the gym shortly and then planning a liquids day. Too much food and drink over the past 3 days...

Ditto to carly's post, I feel the SAME EXACT WAY! It doesn't help that it has not been a hot summer here. I need a hot one to get me through the hideousness that is the rest of our arctic year. {sigh}

AWWWW, she is a dolly!!!!

Good morning & happy Sept all! Had a lovely last hurrah beach weekend north with the fam. Today my folks are having a BBQ at their lake house with both sides of my family. Of course, it's chilly out. Fabulous. <eyeroll> Tomorrow the kids go back to school & I will be VERY SAD. I am not a fan of my kids not being home with me!!!

I'm sure you have one or many close by...IDK, maybe property is too scarce?:dunno: Google your city and flea markets, and you should find what's closest to you. :) It's also a great place to find inexpensive produce. I bought two gigantic mangoes yesterday. I might have to cut them up and freeze them for smoothies...one would probably be 400 calories. :D We did pretty well, I think. From 11 am - 3 pm, we made about 300.00. :)

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday (in the US). I am off today, plus I took annual leave for the rest of this week.:jumpjoy::jumpjoy:
Sounds like a lovely end of summer, Flutter. Now you only have to wait till Xmas for the kids to have another break. ;)

ETA: Carly, I googled NYC and flea markets and there are several. Seems like the biggest is in Manhattan, and it's called Green Flea market. No charge for admission. Out of curiosity, I looked at the vendor information...lots more rules than here, and requires a license. You need a license here too, if you have a permanent booth, but if you only sell occasionally, it's not required. The tables/booths in NYC are also a good bit more (no surprise), but not by that much. Plus you probably make a lot more $$! ;) I would love to go there.

I'm only 30 minutes out of the city so I can check it out. I'll google Westchester and Flea markets and see if any are really close.

LoCarbGal 09-02-2013 12:03 PM

Hot here too! But that's no surprise. I can't wait for cooler weather...

Beverly, lovely new avi! I love your hair!

I too am afraid of flea markets. So many great deals and so little time! Good exercise walking around though.

Happy Labor Day to my U.S. JBs, and happy weekend to all.
