Get well soon, Dottie!

(I was going to add a "hug" emoticon, but I don't want to catch what you have, even virtually!)

Feel better soon Dottie - hope mama feels better soon too!

Rebecca -as long as you keep the rotations going up til then, you'll be fine! Even if you gain a few lbs on vacay, guess what, a few good rotations and they'll be history. it's like Kissa's sig says "Relax, rotate, rejoice!"

Poor you Dottie, sinus issues are horrid. And, as for not tasting your treat, that's too, too bad. Wishing your mother a speedy recovery too.

E.W. hope the Dr appt. went okay however you decided to handle it. I love that you have kissed goodbye to those pesky 3 numbers. Yay!

Hope th allergies leave soon Katie.

Nice result Rebecca.

KUTGW everyone.

I'm still trying to believe this!

I'm going to try to stick with my rotations as well as possible until the end of October, and then I'm going to enjoy the eating part of the anniversary and try not to go crazy with it.

We are going to Galena IL, and the whole attraction is walking around looking at cool stuff and eating yummy things. When we are there, we usually have ice cream once, fudge once and caramel corn once, plus other little miscellaneous things we come across. For regular meals, I stick to high fat low carb. However, last time we were there, I was not aware that I was diabetic, so I will be trying to remember that and not go hog wild. It might be fun to eat fun things, but it is not fun to get permanent nerve damage from it!

lol I've been taking so much advil and advil sinus stuff that I should buy stock.
That's a big reason I am not weighing until a full week after I quit taking this stuff. It makes me retain water really bad, but it's the only thing that kills my sinus headaches.
Thank you for the good wishes for my mom. She's a tough old crow

Mommy brag coming . . . you've been warned!

Keira gets a weekly status update sent home every Monday with her homework packet. She's been getting all "Outstandings" with the occasional "Satisfactory" - usually related to paying attention. She needs to be constantly engaged or her mind starts to wander. I'm the same way.

Anyway, yesterday's status report also came with her mid-quarter progress report. She got ALL "Outstandings" on her status report and straight As on her progress report.

The reason I'm so happy is because we moved her to the gifted school this year, and we weren't sure if she'd adjust well between the change of schools and the stiffer academic competition. She can be sensitive, and has OCD which sometimes gets really exacerbated by too much change (when she was 6, we moved, and she pulled out all her eyebrows--that sort of thing).

She's adjusted beautifully. She likes her teacher and her new friends. The first day of school (3rd grade), each child got a snail and used that for Science for a couple of weeks. They got to bring them home at the end of their project, and she's loving her new pet, Angela (no idea how she chose that name!). Her school was tied for first place in California for academic performance last year, so it's a really good gifted program.

Anyway, that's my girl, and I'm sure proud of her!

My body fat percentage did good, too, from 33.6% to 35% and then down to 33% this morning. I am amazed. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Google "carb refeed water retention" for the physiology behind it. Basically, water retention masks weight loss and then with the carb re-feed it pulls water out of the fat cells and into the muscles.

Thanks, ladies!

We took her to see Turbo on Sunday. It was really cute and we figured we had to see it since she now has a snail living in her room.

We're searching for a boyfriend for Angela now. I told DH he needs to set our sprinklers for right before daylight, so we can go out to our garden and find a playmate for the snail.

Dawn, of course Kiera is amazing, she is yours and your lovely DH's. What else could she be? I used to have snail races when I was little. The correct term to encourage a racing snail is 'Itchycuney' repeated again and again.

I just posted that I got down to 299.4lbs today but that was first thing this morning
with clothes and shoes. I have three Dr's I see every 3 months and today was the day.
So I weighed 306 at the first one 305 at the next and 304 last one. I did find that I
need to work on my chlosterol some it's a little low. I probably haven't been eating enough saturated fat. Today being an UD I was able to jump on that right away !

I still claim 299.4 for you. the losses are on your scales and my guess is you are fully dressed at your Dr's.

Today is an UD, and I will be carefully tracking again.

Oh, and yesterday, for the first time on a DD, I tried not eating until the afternoon. I was working until then, and I thought I would be too hungry to work, especially after the carb-fest the day before, and I took some canned salmon with me in case I couldn't manage my hunger.

But I did not eat it until I got home. I was a little hungry, but not terribly so. I think I'll try that again tomorrow. It was nice to get to eat a little larger lunch and dinner instead of eating a tiny breakfast, tiny lunch and tiny dinner.
The JUDDD magic is real and makes JUDDD a real joy. I have never felt deprived on JUDDD- not even on a DD, because truly nothing is off limits. I have calorie limits, but I have to say that the appetite suppression is so strong that I hardly experience the sensation of hunger any more.

I've also read that fermented foods, like sauerkraut, are really good for you, so maybe that will help with this cold-turned-sinus-infection I have.
lol DH even brought me a twinkie to see if that worked (a twinkie and a 3 pack of peeps are my holiday guilty pleasures I have 1 of each a year!). But I didn't even taste that
I hope you and your mom start feeling better. Sinus infections are the worst!!!!

It does make me hopeful for my anniversary weekend coming at the end of October. I will be away and eating all meals out for 2.5 days. I've been very worried that any damage that will be done will take forever to recover from. Maybe not...
I never stay on rotations when I go on vacation and after 2 rotations back at home I'm back to where I was or lower!

I take Tylenol PM every night and the antihystimine bloats me up terribly. I weigh 3-4 pounds less before bed that I do upon waking. I kid you not!

Interestingly, Sleepy Hollow, a new show on ABC (I think) that premiered last night is being filmed in Wilmington, N.C. About 2 hours from where I live. I found out today that my ex-husband got a part as an extra. He posted his picture in the medieval clothing on FB.

He is my first ex-husband and we get along well.

Yay for Keira!

Felt awful yesterday. The nurse at work monitored my BP and all three readings were not good. I came home and fell asleep at 7pm. Woke up for a bit at 1am then back to sleep at 3am. Right now I'm feeling much better. No headache today so hopeful that the reading will be better this morning. Fingers crossed!

I'm off on Friday. Heading to see my PCP and honestly just need some time away from the job. It has been beyond stressful and when everything your colleagues say make you cringe you know it's time to take a break or maybe something a bit more drastic. Time to do some soul searching I guess.
