Me, too! is there some kind of fairy dust to help with this?

My weight dipped into the 160s for the second time this morning. Very exciting!

Today I am going to be working on a skirt I am making for my Halloween/convention costume. I am using the bottom of a dust ruffle to make a petticoat. I got it for under $4 at the thrift store, and it will give me a wonderful, pin-tucked ruffle, plus some extra to use for a bustle.

WOE: JUDDD
Start Date: July 2013
Hello! I have been MIA for a few weeks. Life is always busy around here... My daughter is due to deliver any day now...its a waiting game. I will have the two grands when she goes into labor....eager to meet the new baby girl...

Been a bit frustrated and trying to figure out how to solve my problems....I keep careful records of what I eat and tend to be around 800 on DD and under 2000 (usually 1600-1800) on UD. According to the JUDDD web page I should be 700/2600. And to add more confusion, weight lifting experts say at my level of lifting I should be eating closer to 3000 a day. Even with the lower amounts of calories, and the lifting (still at 195 on deadlifts...) I am not losing. I am down a total of 7 pounds since I started JUDDD, but my weight keeps bouncing around, and then back up, then down and up and never seems to make any improvements in the right direction. I have stuck with JUDDD because it makes a very measurable improvement in my blood sugar levels. I had really hoped to see some progress- but it seems nothing ever works. sigh... I have always been suspicious of folks crying "starvation mode", but am beginning to wonder if I am actually a bonifide case of a truly broken metabolism, and wondering if there is anything to do to help it heal. I hate that I can lift like a beast, but see no visual physical improvement at all. Someone took a picture of me after my latest deadlift, and my belly just looked huge. I was so discouraged.

Life has its ups and downs....and an up for me was my latest kiln load. I had those teapots I talked about earlier in the month in it, and they turned out pretty well. I decided to keep one for myself! Going to throw out the cracked commercially made one I have used for 20 years....

I tried to spend some time reading back posts...off to do some more reading and try and catch up on what is going on. Thanks for listening to my whines...

It's good to see you back Ellen, and you're not whining! I think you're just trying to figure out what is going on with your eating and where to go from here. I'm so impressed with your lifting too.

Congratulations in advance on the new granddaughter! What a happy time!

LG, are you lifting/doing weight routines every day? You should always leave at least one day in between weight workouts...so do say M-W-F max, and never two days in a row. Your muscles need a chance to recover. You are actually making microscopic tears when you lift, and they must heal...the healing is what makes them stronger. Try and plan your UDs for the same day you workout so you can eat enough protein to help rebuild the muscles too.

No I don't lift with the same muscles every day, nor am I lifting at all right now, lol. I'm getting back at it soon! Thanks for the concern though.

Today is 18 months on JUDDD! I just looked at the date and realized this. I am forever grateful to Dr. Johnson and all my wonderful JUDDD Buds! JUDDD is something that is a pleasure. Whether I'm doing EOD, 4:3 or 5:2 I love it and it is just so sustainable for me.

I just ordered the 23andme. We have to mail it back from CT since NY does not approve, but that isn't an issue we can cross into CT in less that 15 minutes.

So I worked hard at getting into the proper range for my UD on Saturday. I went out to breakfast and had pancakes, with cherries, bacon, eggs, and drank a pot of coffee with cream. I continued to eat my way through the day. Yesterday was a DD but I ate more then I am supposed to...instead of 700 I had more like 1200- and I concentrated on protein through out the day. This morning I am down 4 pounds since Friday.

It might just be that JUDDD is not a good program for me overall. I may need to move to 4:3 or 5:2 instead of EOD. I welcome thoughts....

It is alonst October!!!
Home from the State Fair where I did two UD's in a row with FAIR FOOD. Had a DD yesterday since I was traveling home. I find traveling and DD's a very good combo. Only gained a couple of pounds but was expecting that or more.
Back to work for one day and then off until maybe Thursday. I get to chose when I work so I just get carried away trying to NOT work.
I have so much energy these days and I am crediting that to the increase in protein in my diet from red meat mostly. DH picked up our hog we had proceesed while I was at the fair so we now have over 700 pounds of beef and pork in the freezer. We sure won't starve.
My next goal is to eat more veggies. I had stir fry veggies and a HB patty with cheese for lunch. I have noticed my diet isn't really very balanced lately so I am wroking on it. That and now losing my two extra ppounds. Sure enjoyed the fair food though. It was worth it. My junk food blowout for the year.

If your objective is weight loss, then it sounds like you've got it figured out. Eat More Food! I think 4:3 or 5:2 would work well for you, if you're trying to keep the benefits going.

I'm jealous! I wish I had all that meat. Oops, that didn't sound exactly right. I'm trying to start eating more balanced meals with more vegs too...so far, I'm doing well on DDs.

I was thinking that since I am only eating every other day, I should be trying for ten servings of veg/fruit each time, rather than five. It sounds so daunting. And yet I love vegetables.

Great time at the fair and thanks for asking about the girls. I had a Saanen milker win Grand Champion Senior Saanen. I took her as an add on to make 10 so the senior show would be official. I guess I am barn blind so I was REALLY surprised at her win. BUT thrilled none the less.

Love this. I do the same thing at the State Fair. I have my favorites and then I have to wait until next year. This is the TEXAS State Fair and they have this fried food contest every year so the food lineup is fried food everywhere. " If we can get it in hot grease we fry it" must be the motto for the contests.
