Really? He can eat that much?

I've been doing the JUDDD WOE since early July and my dh is starting to take notice
Initially, he was going to do it with me, but couldn't make it past mid-morning on the first day without food
But now that he sees how well it's working for me, he is considering a second try.
So last night I put his numbers into the calculator.
3176/635!!

Seriously? He can eat that much??

I do 1800/365 - but I usually eat 500 on my DD.
Am I doing this right?
He's 51, 223lb and 6' 1.5"

That looks right, if his initial number is really that high. Have you put his details into a calculator that accounts for his activity level and age? It could be a bit lower if it is sedentary or older.

KeirasMom 08-27-2013 11:23 AM

I get 2459/492.

ETA: That's at 20% with little/no exercise.

LoCarbGal 08-27-2013 12:28 PM

He plays hard raquetball 2-3 times per week and tries to do some additional excercise, so I have him at moderate activity 3-4/wk

Really? Why is mine so low?
I'm 5'7 started at 180 and I'm somewhere between little/no exercise and light excercise.
Age 50

No, it's not...
Maybe I'm annoyed because it's a DD and I'm really hungry right now. Didn't get my full 1800 in yesterday, so I started the day hungry which isn't normal for me.

I got 1823/365 for you, so yours are right. We females are at a metabolic disadvantage. Just be glad you're not short! :hyst:

Kissa 08-27-2013 12:56 PM

And old!

Slimming-up 08-27-2013 01:05 PM

Indeed!!
Not short, and not "old' ..... yet

I feel a little better. I just ate my first "fat bomb". My mood is lifting.

And I'm understanding a bit more why he's hungry like a teenager all the time! Before JUDDD, I hardly knew what hunger was, and couldn't figure out why he was hungry when we'd been basically eating the same thing!

Good luck to your hubby! I'm sure he'll do fabulous! (men always seem to, don't they?) Happy to hear you're loving Juddd as well! yay!!

:annoyed: my numbers are 1550/312- being 5'2" really stinks, cause I'm only 37!

Avicenna 08-28-2013 08:27 AM

Over 6 feet is pretty big... I'm around 6 feet myself and I suspect that is one reason I frequently feel the need to eat more than, well, shorter people... from my experience I wouldn't really see it as a privilege though - I don't eat more for enjoyment, but because I feel like I have to, and that can also be its own challenge (for instance, trying to avoid comments from other people in social situations about how much you are eating).

zipp2play 08-28-2013 12:52 PM

My DH is 6'1" and he started JUDDD same time as me, he lost 40 pounds in less than 3 months! LIFE is not fair!

Luv2Eat 08-28-2013 02:25 PM

I cannot relate to eating that much food, can see that it would be a burden sometimes :sing: (pretend the guitar is a violin).

Says the smallest with a 1200 calorie limit UD

Slimming-up 08-29-2013 07:40 AM

I guess the key for me is exercise - if I exercise, I can eat more... :yummy:
That's a new incentive. Never thought of it that way before!

Becky 08-29-2013 01:54 PM

I'm short AND old! 5'3" 47 years old, my numbers are 1795/359 (last time I lost on JUDDD I was doing 1700/600 though). The husband's numbers are 2340/468, he hasn't shown interest in joining me but I won't even be starting until tomorrow.

lc-chica 08-29-2013 05:55 PM

To the OP this is exactly why I am trying to get my husband on the bandwagon!
