Where (on your body) are you losing weight?

I wish I was one of those people who lost from all over, but alas, I am not! Since starting JUDDD, my tops and bras are noticeably looser, but my pants are just fitting more comfortably. I am definitely bottom heavy, so of course I wish the weight was coming from there! I had originally set a goal of 130, but now I'm wanting to go lower since I can tell it's not going to put me into a smaller pant size. I know they say the first place you gain is the last place you lose so I'm hoping if I'm persistent then some of the stubborn fat on my lower half will come off! (with the help of strength training - I know that's important in re-shaping your body)

So, how about you? Where are you losing from? I'm interested in hearing from those at goal too -- did your stubborn areas eventually give up and get smaller? Just wanted to get some discussion going on this topic!

I lose from everywhere but my stomach. That's why I decided to quit losing. I can look emaciated everywhere else and still have a poochy tummy.

I have noticed loss all over - face, wrist, feet, chest, waist. This month I have slowed down with loss, understandably - but noted that my weight is shifting a bit, pants have gotten a lot looser this month in the waist, more loose than 3 pounds would account for - shifting for sure.

I looked at your height - 5'6" same as me. Yet your starting weight is LESS than my goal weight. LOL I carry my weight throughout my body - so different body shapes for sure.

My goal weight is just a first goal though - not sure where I will end up, or what weight will be most comfortable for me.

I lose all over at a higher weight (like now). Then it sort of seems to come off in sections - or did in the past anyway. Like the back and upper stomach fat disappears (or is visibly reduced anyway) from 170 to 150. From 150 to 130, my waist really whittles down a lot. Legs never really seem to decrease - or increase - much (except at the tops - when I'm thinner, there's a gap where fat currently resides). Outer hip and lower stomach areas do not reduce except with vanity pounds, really clean eating and a lot of work. Mostly a lot of work. But it takes the chest and face fat with it and I'm not sure that's worth the sacrifice. Would rather be a B student than an A student in that department. And I think I might get wrinkles if my face was too thin now at 48 y.o.

I'm going to give the 6 week cure for the middle aged middle a shot on down days (and partially modify UD's to incorporate it) in September and see if that works for losing some midsection visceral fat. Post #943 gives some people's results:

Funny you should ask this... I usually gain & lose pretty proportionately (except my already small boobsare usually the first to go, and the last to show). But this time, (and maybe it's just that I am measuring wrong?) it seems that I've only lost inches from my waist since starting JUDDD in April. That can't truly be right... can it? Maybe so though... my pants are falling down, so definitely a correct measurement of loss in the waist. But my bras and shirts don't seem to fit much differently.

I measure the following:
Neck, Chest, Bust, Waist, Hips, Thigh, Bicep
All the same except for the waist.

If I weighted 100lbs I would still have big thighs, calves, I get that from my grandmother
Which I love her so I'm good with it. My sister total opposite, skinny legs, I don't like her
I'm back on the JUDDD game. Fingers crossed, lips closed eod.

So many interesting responses - keep 'em coming! It's amazing to me how unique each of our bodies is. I'm really interested to see what will happen with mine if I can continue to lose. I always give up when I get to the "vanity pounds" stage but I am determined to power through this time. I am beyond thrilled to have maintained a healthy weight for quite some time (I weighed 190 years ago & lost a good bit on WW) but I can't help wishing I looked good in a bathing suit. LOL!

I'm not exactly sure anymore. I have definitely lost it from all over and am smaller overall. Right now, I'd have to say my upper arms and upper torso are slimming down more than anywhere else. Which is great - I need it! But it also means that I'm not going down as fast in pants sizes, which is what I always use as my goal markers.

I tend toward the pear shape and always have, so my butt and thighs are always the last to go. No reason that should be any different this time around.

My upper body has lost the most weight so far, as I'm still in some pants that I wore 33 lbs ago!!! Unreal. I'm also surprised that I still have a lot of weight in my face. I don't see it in the mirror, but once again, it's really noticeable in pictures. My avi shows it a little, but it's more kind than most pics.

I am like Goner, I lost all over, then it shifted in slow or non-loss months. Sometimes pants become loose other time it's the bras and the tops!

I lose all over, but I mainly lose up top. My face is slimmer and I can see the change in my tummy. Most likely from the cardio. Fortunately, my breasts usually stay the same. They are the one area on my body that I truly love. I've lost 40 pounds and I'm starting to change pants size, but my bottom half always accepts the weight loss differently then the rest of my body.

Pretty much what Dawn said. My butt is so bony it hurts to sit in a chair that doesn't have a cushion, but my belly looks like I'm expecting

I've jumped up to 124 and was at 121 for a while, but my 29 jeans are loser and I lost an inch in my waist. My fingers have also gotten quite thin in the last month. My size 5 ring that I got to hold my wedding band and engagement ring on is too big! My belly is expanding though

I generally lose from all over. Hourglass, but my upper body is a little stubborn (upper arms really). Since I'm doing everything I can this time to hold on to my lean muscle and build a little (gained approximately 3.5lbs of muscle in the past 7 weeks) I'm hoping that as a drop the fat a much more defined shape will emerge and my arm issue will subside once I hit goal. I'm looking to gain another 4 pounds of muscle and maintain the total gains for the duration of my fat loss.

I think a lot of the "everywhere is skinny but one area" can't be fixed with anything but good old fashioned exercise. Your body loses fat where it loses it and the only way to truly change the shape is to build up the areas you think are too skinny with muscle. That extra muscle gives your body shape, fills out the too thin looking areas AND burns the stubborn calories in the pudgy areas that won't budge with diet alone.

That's why I don't really care about that I've just lost "weight". That's not telling me much. I want to lose FAT and maintain or increase my lean muscle mass. That's what's going to give me the body I want.

I agree with that assessment FB. It's the laziness that gets me. I'm working hard enough just by dieting! Isn't that enough? I'm going to get that damned weight bench out of the garage one day soon--by this weekend. I'm putting it here, so ask me if I've done it yet in a few days.

I am with Dawn & Carly...the belly will not go! Major icky muffin top going on here...

Carly, my scale has been stubborn, too, yet I am down 1- 1 1/2" in my stubborn tummy this month. Wacky!

I definitely need to start some weight training, but it clearly is not happening before the kids go BTS. I sure better get this show started for fall, though!

My treadmill and balance ball are taking up valuable space in my living room. I have a Wii with lots of good exercise games. My hula hoop is leaning against a wall in my kitchen. I have a gym membership I pay every month. Um, yeah, it's STILL not happening!

I have a room full of exercise equipment. I think I am going to get rid of all of it except the bike so it can be a guest bedroom again. When I reached goal way back when I got ALL into weight lifting. It did improve my physique a bit, but it took so much time and effort I don't think I care to do that again.

I totally get that Dawn! Some of my best clothes hangers have been expensive treadmills and exercise bikes! I've gotten rid of all exercise equipment over the years. All I have now is some hand weights and my hula hoop. I've been eyeing a stationary bike lately though. I thought I could do Tabata on it. But I'm trying to hold off making the purchase, and make good use of the DVDs I already have. Sigh. Why do I not love exercise?

I'm not sure what's happening with me this trip through JUDDSville, but last time when I'd lost X number of pounds (probably 25 or so), I was dropping down into size 14 pants, close to 12s, from my original tight 18s. Now this time I started 30 pounds lighter than last time, I'm still in my 16s and not dropping sizes. My weight is dropping tho. So, when you ask where we're losing weight, I don't know. My face is looking thinner, and my thighs seem to be smaller, and my wedding ring has started sliding around my finger, but other than that??? I don't know. I, too, have the Wii, elliptical, and recumbent bicycle, none of which have been used in the last year or so. The exercise machines will go into our next yard sale for someone else to store!!

Merryellen - you might want to have a look at the Body by Science program - it's basically the "Big 5" and the time estimate is pretty short. They say 12 minutes a week, but might be closer to 15.
Big 5: dead lifts, bench press, reverse grip pull down, overhead press, seated row, squats

6 years ago, I debated between a dog or a treadmill. Treadmills don't give you that sad look or eat shoes when you don't use them so the dog won.

Thanks JJ, I will check that out. When I started to peter out with the weightlifting I started to only do bench, squat, and DL. I adored DL, in my prime I could do 165x3. I do feel guilty not lifting anymore.

Dogs are way better than treadmills!

Yep, I'm a top loser first. Shopped for new bras before anything else. Go figure. If I could walk upside down and backwards I'd have the perfect body. lol
