What the heck is wrong with me?!?!?

I am ridiculously disappointed in myself...since March 2013, I have done nothing but change diets every 2-4 weeks. I have issues! Why can't I just stick with one diet! I have been as high as 200 lbs and as low as 186 lbs since March, but I am not making any progress because I keep switching diets every 5 seconds!!! Today I am 198.2 lbs...blah.

With every different diet that I have been on, I always come back to this JUDDD forum, because you all are just so encouraging! And friendly to boot! So many of you have made so much progress since March by sticking to JUDDD, while I have gotten nowhere! Well, what does that tell me? That I am an idiot! Okay I'll stop bashing myself now...

I need to stop thinking that the grass is greener on the other diet! I need to go back to JUDDD and I need to stick with it...FOREVER!!! JUDDD is the only diet that I can see myself sticking with the rest of my life! And so many of you maintainers are proof of that!

So as of today, I am committed! For real! Today is a DD! I will start weighing in on the daily weigh-in thread to stay accountable! I'm sorry for rambling, but I just really needed encouragement and needed to get all that out! Missed you JUDDD BUDDDS!

Welcome back and know that there is nothing wrong with you!!!! If you get to a point where you feel like switching again, please come back here so we can all help you stick with JUDDD. It does work even if it can be slow.

Haha, yeah I did about a month ago! It was quite long and I was getting knots all the time! It was painful, so I copped it off!

I love seeing people successful too. I wish no one ever had to struggle with weight! But unfortunately that is not the case

I could have written your original post myself, 31 weeks of going back and forward and I am only about 5lbs less than I was in January.

What I did learn was that the jumping from diet to diet and constant tweaking was a stress response to other things that were going on in my life, the stress is still there but I can recognize it and deal with it now. I always felt support was a big part of my ability to stick to plan and I am eternally grateful to have found this forum.

I have had a huge deal of stress these past few months, and you're right I think that is a big part of why I was always switching. I never realized it, but you just opened my eyes!!! I need to find a better way of dealing with stress!

How long have you been consistently JUDDDing now?

Just back to my second week after a 2 week vacation and big vacation weight to lose, but I'm starting to get back into the swing of it now and I've got my " I can have that tomorrow" head back on LOL.

So glad to have you back, Chantal! I think the diet switcheroo is natural. None of us really want to be on any diet, and when the one we're on starts feeling restrictive or like too much effort, the next one looks more attractive. Rinse and repeat. I think it's the same with exercises and exercise equipment. It all looks so attractive and easy to do, until you start it, and it's work, and it hurts, and you think the next new contraption will be just the thing. Real answer, we really don't want to have to exercise at all. At least that's how it is for me.

I do think switching all the time is really hard on our bodies. They never really get it a groove with any one plan, and nothing has a chance to start working for us. Shaking it up within a plan can be a real good thing though.

I agree with Deborah - when you start feeling that old itch to switch, just come here and we'll help you through it!

LCG- Yeah I've heard that it is actually more dangerous to yo-yo diet than to just be overweight/obese and do nothing about it. Like losing and gaining the same weight over and over again does something inside. As you lose weight you sometimes lose fat as well as muscle, and when you gain it back it is basically all fat weight. Or something like that, I am not very scientific, I know

I stuck with JUDDD, very strictly, until I hit goal. Since then, I've been trying a bunch of different things for maintenance. I always come back to JUDDD (in one form or another). I get it.

Nothing wrong - sometimes too much information is a bad thing - I could justify eating just about everything, based on one diet or another!

JUDDD is great, because you're not on a diet! No odd food choices!

We have all done it, and regretted it. But we are all human and always want the easy/interesting/quick answer. I always say that most 'diets' work if you follow them to the letter.

The great thing about JUDDD is that only requires serious 'to the letter' commitment every other day.

6 weeks on Atkins, then 13 months on JUDDD until I called goal and maintained at 165. I've lost a little more (I go back and forth about whether or not I want to keep losing, so it's not "active" dieting), but 278 to 165 took about 14 1/2 months.

WB Chantal!!! You can do this, you just have to be in the right "mood" to get started. IMO, Juddd is just so much easier to stick with than anything else I've ever tried. EVEN BETTER, it's easier to live with forever. Where else can you have whatever you want if you truly want it? (and not live to regret it)

So we are both 'newbies'
I've got about 4 weeks now. I actually look forward to DD's.

Last night we went out to Mozambique, a restaurant in Laguna Beach,
and I ate from their menu. I didn't feel like a 'dieter' never mentioned
that word to my waiter. I carefully selected from their menu and had
just the right thing for my program. Of the 9 persons at our table,
only my DH knew I was on an UP Day for JUDDD program.
So it's slow...for some turtles like me. Time passes in any case and
I am not gaining

You have now tried all the programs and are free to select the one that
is most comfortable for you. Don't regret anything. Just move forward
one day at a time.

I don't JUDD (I'm a low carber) but I read this forum religiously because everyone is so nice and supportive here. The lack of self-righteousness among the successful is especially refreshing and very inspirational regardless of what plan you're doing.

Hear hear!! "Do what works" (and sometimes what works just for your head) shouldn't be such a novel concept. Sticking to a diet is tough enough as it is without feeling you're doing things "wrong" sometimes.

I love this post, so you didn't have to sit and say dressing on the side, no potato, no croutons, salad instead of fries etc etc so often I've had the waiter take a new page in his notebook to log my requests, I simply cannot ever go back to that way of eating!!

I also love the fact that no one knew you were on plan, I hate that I become a diet bore on other plans.

Welcome back Chantal! Please stop beating yourself up. Finding what works for you takes time and configuring the WOE to suit your personality takes even longer. I completely agree with Deborah and would definitely recommend you coming on the forum and putting the frustration of the plan on here so we can all help.

Last week my JB's kept me motivated and didn't let me give into the stall. They rock!
