UD Wednesday: What's on the Menu?

Good morning, everyone! I am feeling especially chipper today for some reason. I'm hoping it comes with a massive dose of productivity because I am swamped at work.

pre-workout - banana - 90 cals
breakfast - PBJ on sprouted grain bread or maybe toast + 2 eggs - ?? cals
lunch - salad w/ salmon, stir fry veggies - ?? cals
dinner - Indian restaurant - not sure what I'm ordering yet... - ?? cals

Healthy snacks as needed (I've been craving plain greek yogurt w/ PB2 & sweetener - yum!)

Goal is 2000 cals

elphie I'm going to have to switch my days to match yours. Your menu always makes me hungry
How's your "chipper" holding out?

LoCarbGal 08-07-2013 09:24 AM

Hey UD BUDDDs!

B: Coffee/HWC
L: Tilapia, greek yogurt, fruit
D: Cocktail, grilled chicken, peas with butter
D: maybe some PB

Total 1900-ish

It lasted approximately 5 minutes! LOL!

piglet513 08-07-2013 11:19 AM

B: coffee w/HWC
L: ham sandwich with cheese and mustard
D: no idea; I'm really not hungry at all today for some reason, but it usually kicks in later.

goal: 1900 cals.

KeirasMom 08-07-2013 11:27 AM

The usual suspects.

B: Everything bagel with cream cheese, coffee
L: Banh Mi with Sriracha
D: No clue yet

I have been a snack monster today. Munched on some toasted coconut almonds (OMG!), quaker cheddar cheese "popped" snacks and also raspberries. Time to quit eating or I won't have enough calories for Indian tonight! I'm definitely planning to keep it on the healthy side with tandoori chicken or shrimp.

KeirasMom 08-07-2013 11:28 AM

Oh great, now I want tandoori chicken. But I can't have it without naan, raita, dal, and rice. There's a big chunk of calories! :yummy:

elphie124 08-07-2013 11:37 AM

LOL! I am an Indian food newbie so I don't know if I like those things (and tonight is the not the night I'll be finding out!).

piglet513 08-07-2013 12:10 PM

Now I want naan sooooo badly....

KeirasMom 08-07-2013 12:55 PM

Oh, and rasmalai! Oh gosh, I may need to convince the hubs it's an Indian food kind of night! Samosas! Mango Lassi! Okay, I need to stop. :yummy: One more . . . navratan korma!

elphie124 08-07-2013 01:03 PM

You guys are scaring me....

Note to self....must show restraint, must show restraint, must show restraint, must show restraint, must show restraint...

LOL!

KeirasMom 08-07-2013 01:10 PM

It's generally very healthy, though quite carby and lots of yogurt is used. You can't go wrong with tandoori chicken or shrimp. Just stay away from anything fried or creamy if you want to keep the calories in check. I LOVE Indian food.

Good tips - thanks! If I love it, I am totally planning to save a ton of calories on some upcoming UD and feast! :-)

B- kale and banana smoothie with chia and cacao nibs
l- 2 poached eggs in broth with a handful of cherry tomatoes from the back yard
s- half cup greek yogurt with raw honey and an ounce of almonds
making the day total thus far 860cal
d- tbd maybe a quesadilla with yogurt and salsa for dipping
adding another 400 if I use 2 full ounces of cheese.
That would bring me to 1260, supposed to be 1860.
Bah.
Had a little walk and of course yoga, but I don't count that toward calorie levels ever.

jacquelinejolie 08-07-2013 05:56 PM

B: coffee w/cream, vanilla greek yogurt with frozen blueberries (500)
L: roast chicken and a bowl of fruit - cherry season! (500)
D: beef and broccoli w/jasmine rice (300)
S: 1/2 small bag hickory sticks (245)

I think I'm going to stop counting my calories on up days. I want to eat only until satisfied but when I see the numbers written out and that I have leftover calories, it makes me want to eat all the rest up to the limit. Physically I don't want it, psychologically I do. :dunno:
