My goals for August:

- At least 5 workouts per wk Mon - Sun (minimum 300 cals burned each)
- Daily plank, alternating lunges & (girl) push-ups
(this will be as many as I can do in one go for each. Once I challenged myself to see how many I could throughout the day and wasted too much time getting a few extra here and there!)

8/1 - 37 min outdoor cycling (3rd w.o. for the wk) - 423 cals - pushed myself to do some sprints! - planks, push ups and lunges later!

Walked (nursing some shin splints) about 2 miles with my DD yesterday right after work. Perfect time of day to 'decompress' from the work day and prepare myself for family time in the evening. It's as much mental for me, as it is physical.

Added some resistance bands workout. Need more muscle mass to burn up those calories!!! Yes Scarlet I agree on the decompression. Helps get rid of the mental junk I'd say.

Change of plans again...I did the more intense strength workout once this week and still find myself not fully recovered, which clearly indicates I'm not strong enough for it yet. So....I'm scaling back and resuming my previous schedule of 3 days HIIT cardio and 3 days of 25 minute strength workout and will stick to that for now.

I am not doing well with the goals that I set for myself for August. I am struggling a bit with exercise motivation lately. I'm not really worried about it, but I am worried about it continuing. So....time to kick my butt into gear! No more slacking and I WILL find a way to incorporate strength training that I can stick to. I think this is going to involve joining Planet Fitness again (I really like their strength circuit). I need to carve out some time to stop there and sign up!
